Things that change color. Business on clothes that change color at high temperatures! Color changing fabric

New fashion direction - digital fashion ( digital fashion) is already making its way to the world podiums. Brand CuteCircuit- worthy competition, both of these brands are developing interactive clothing. However, while Studio XO is still making bespoke clothing, CuteCircuit has already introduced a haute couture collection to the wider market using the latest digital advances. Dresses, skirts and jackets are equipped with technology that allows you to change the pattern and color of the LEDs built into each garment through apps on iPhone and Twitter.

“Why have twenty skirts in your wardrobe? You can have just two and download hundreds of different colors and patterns to them, ”says Francesca Rosella(Francesca Rosella), founder of CuteCircuit.

CuteCircuit was founded in 2004 in London. Its founders are Ryan Gentz(Ryan Genz) and Francesca Rosella who previously worked for Valentino. They are also the main creative force of the brand.

Dresses were originally designed for the rich and famous. So in 2010 a sparkling dress was made for Katy Perry(Katy Perry). This dress contained 3,000 LED bulbs.

"We have programmed K dress soft glow, so that the artist does not feel like a "digital scoreboard". Lamps smaller than 2x2 mm were sewn on the dress. They are flat like paper, they are even hard to find on fabric,” says Francesca.

New collection " Autumn-winter 2014/2015» - for the mass market. The collection of dresses, jackets and skirts is digital yet comfortable to wear and washable. You can communicate with the outfit from your smartphone via Bluetooth, change its color or pattern.

Anyone can buy dresses in the brand's online store. Some dresses instead of LEDs simply contain 3D technology, reflective materials, they are relatively inexpensive up to £300. Clothes with LEDs that react to the owner's movements - from £280. Full programmable digital dresses start at £700.

Rosella believes that digital fashion will reduce the negative impact on the environment: “Ordinary clothes eventually become obsolete and thrown away. But if we can download new colors and patterns for our clothes every day, we can buy and therefore produce less clothes.”

Perhaps the most famous creation of the brand is the dress. Galaxy Dress- today it is part of the exhibition Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. This is the largest portable LED display to date, in which 24,000 full-color LEDs 2x2 mm in size are sewn on silk and do not interfere with walking. Miniature iPod batteries are hidden in the lining.

Among other smart models - Kinetic Dress. This dress lights up and changes its structure when a person moves. They say that this dress, which, as if by magic, can change its color and applied print, in addition to movement, also reacts to the mood of its owner.

T-shirt Hug shirt allows you to send hugs from a distance. Sensors woven into the fabric of the shirt measure the strength of the touch, the warmth of the skin, and even your pulse when you send a hug to someone from a distance, and then the same sensors in the recipient's clothing recreate all these parameters. The data transfer is carried out via Bluetooth, first from the shirt to the sender's mobile phone, and then from mobile phone to the recipient's shirt. Sending a hug is as easy as making a phone call or texting.

The founders of the company are confident that the future of the fashion industry lies with electronic textiles and innovative technologies in the production of clothing.

Amy Konstanze Mercedes Rainbow Winters is the name of a designer who uses in his work not only ordinary tools (threads, needles, patterns, etc.), but also the most advanced technologies. She plays with the qualities of high-tech fabrics, creating the most unusual dresses and swimwear

The things she created are able to change color under the influence of various factors - light, water and even sound. Sunlight and ultraviolet rays change the molecular structure of the dye - thus color changes fabric used. In the shade, for example, the dress can be pale pink, in sunlight - bright crimson. Or pale green under the sun turns into bright emerald. Unusual and cool, right?

There is a dress in the Amy Winters collection that looks normal during the day and lights up in electric blue in the dark. There is one that reacts to the sound of music - the dress begins to glow thanks to the use of electroluminescent technology and sound sensors. At a club party in such clothes, you can literallyshine and shine.

Perhaps some models are too extravagant, but there are those that can be worn not only by stars - swimwear, including changing color from water and sun. And the dresses that turn pale in the shade and gain a rich color in the sun, I personally also really liked - for the summer, in my opinion, this is the very thing. In summer, you can and should be bright and fashionable!

Fabric that changes color with temperature

The fabric that changes color upon touch is made of a durable polymer material (PU - a polymer material based on polyurethane) in which a pigment (Thermochromic pigment) is added, which has the property of changing color or becoming transparent when exposed to heat, such as when touched by a person's hand. The sensitivity threshold of "disappearing" thermochromic tissue depends mainly on the area where it is applied. Moreover, depending on the ambient temperature, the image on the fabric can either appear or disappear.

The main property of Thermochromic fabric (Temperature fabric) is a change in color under the influence of temperature (cooling or heating)

and lies in the fact that thermochromic fabric reacts to any temperature effect of a tactile (touching the fabric) and non-tactile nature (sunlight, heating from a heat source).
For example: natural color- black, when exposed to heat, or when touched, it transforms into orange; and returns to its original color after the end of exposure to heat.

There are several varieties of fabric (PU / TPU)

Reacting to heat (heating), the touch of a person's hand used in sewing clothes changes color.

Thermochromic fabric based on polyurethane (PU)

to the touch is smooth and tactilely pleasant, the material itself is very soft, easily wrinkled and always returns to its original position. The temperature-sensitive fabric is available in the following windings: 5m, 1.3m/10m, 1.3m/15m, 1.3m/20m, 1.3m/25m, 1.3m/50m; , roll width 1.37 m, thickness 0.8 mm,
The composition of the thermochromic fabric that changes color: PU - polymer material based on polyurethane, soft rubberized fabric to the touch, does not wrinkle. The letters PU in the name of the heat-sensitive fabric stand for Poly Uretan, which means the presence of a special coating on the inside of the fabric. This allows the fabric to repel water drops, dirt. Also, it is worth noting that this fabric is very durable and almost does not stretch when applied. It is customary to sew windbreakers from it, tight-fitting tracksuits, shoes, inserts on clothes, bags, etc. as bright colors, and more muted.
