Caterpillar from egg trays step by step instructions. Simple crafts from egg boxes: what to do with children in bad weather

Sometimes from waste material you can create interesting crafts-toys. For example, a caterpillar from an egg carton.

My daughter and I made such a caterpillar fashionista (Age 1 year, 10 months). I saw the ideas of such caterpillars on several forums, I changed something myself.

We will need an egg package, from which we cut off several cells (the number of which may depend on the age of the baby). I cut off one side of the egg carton. We colored each cell with a different color. At the same time, the colors were repeated. While the caterpillar was drying, thin sausages (legs, nose and mouth) and balls (eyes) were molded from plasticine.

As a result, we got the following blanks.

Glue the eyes, nose. Then plasticine was glued on top of the first cell (you can drop glue, whichever is more convenient for you), and a piece of feather edge on it is the hairstyle of our fashionista (as an option, you can use a colored cotton ball). Glue the paws on the sides. Our plasticine did not adhere very well to the paint, so it was glued from the inside.

That's all!

For crafts from egg boxes, you need to use those boxes that are made of pressed paper. Plastic is not the most malleable material for coloring, cutting and gluing.

panel

Cut flowers from the convex parts of the boxes with sharp scissors, paint and glue to the colored base. As the cores of flowers, you can take buttons or colored strips for quilling springs. For stems and leaves, use colored paper or other craft materials.

Suspension

The same flowers from the convex parts of egg boxes can be hung in the form of garlands on thick threads. To prevent the flowers from slipping along the thread, fix them inside each flower with small buttons.

Crocodile

Paint, glue, scissors and colored paper- everything you need to build such an alligator. Use two egg boxes: for the head - for 6 pieces, for the body - for 10. To make the head moveable, fasten the two boxes with wire.

Caterpillar

For the caterpillar to be movable, fasten each cell with thread or wire.

Present

Baked homemade cookies or made homemade sweets? Decorate an egg box as a gift and put cooked sweets inside, lining the cells with thin tissue paper or foil.

ship

Children always have a collection of mini-toys - small baby dolls, soldiers, animals or men from Lego sets. Let's send them "swimming" by seating them on boats made of egg boxes. With sails, of course!

A game

A simple and useful game for children aged 2-4 that trains attention. Take the colorful bricks or squares from the Lego Duplo set. On a piece of paper, draw a “scheme” for arranging the colors and invite the child to arrange the cubes according to the task. Then the scheme can be turned over and start over. If the child is carried away, you can try to collect the desired set in time and try to improve the result.

Turtle

Cute water turtles. You can make a whole family or even a flock!

Helicopter

To get the body of the helicopter with the tail, you need to cut out the convex part of the egg box along with the partition. To secure the screw, a furniture stud and a piece of eraser or cork, which will fix the stud from the inside, are suitable.

caterpillar from egg tray- one of the easy and interesting crafts for children from waste material. An egg tray, both made of expanded polystyrene and paper, is an inexhaustible source of creative incarnations. You can make many characters from the cells, and you may need one cell and even the entire tray, which, for example, is used to create a crocodile, a boat.

To turn the tray into a caterpillar you will need:

  • Half of a paper egg tray;
  • Chenille sticks;
  • Moving eyes, which will be successfully replaced by paper ones;
  • Some red paper for a smile, but you can also draw it with a felt-tip pen;
  • Gouache, brush, water bottle;
  • Scissors, glue, compasses or any sharp object to pierce the tray.

Egg tray caterpillar step by step

Cut out one row of 5 cells from the egg tray. You can use scissors or a knife. This procedure is not easy, children will not cope. In general, it is better to involve dad or grandfather in this.

Color the cells with gouache. Here may be the most different variants: all cells of a different color, all green, all yellow, green but the first one is yellow, and many other solutions. A caterpillar in colorful colors turns out to be fabulous and bright. Undiluted gouache stains fingers for a long time, so it will take time for it to dry properly.

Prepare two pieces of chenille sticks, wrap the ends. Use a compass or something sharp to make holes in the first cell and insert fluffy antennae into them.

Eyes and a smile will complete the caterpillar from the egg tray. If desired, you can also glue paper paws on the sides of the cells, decorate the caterpillar with pompoms, patterns. See also how to do .

From such a seemingly nondescript junk material as egg trays, you can make very beautiful objects. Having made one craft, you will stop throwing egg trays in the trash. The first thing you can try to do with children is tulips. By cutting the tray into cells, you will get an almost finished tulip, it remains to slightly correct its shape, color it and make a stem if necessary.

For coloring, it is better to use acrylic-based paints. Flowers without a stem decorate home furnishings, postcards, invitations, etc.

Roses from their trays

You can also make roses. How to make a craft rose from a tray with your own hands? The answer is very simple. To do this, you need to prepare:

  • egg cartons;
  • scissors;
  • green corrugated paper;
  • paints and a brush;
  • glue or glue gun.

Step 1. Divide the tray into cells (cones) with scissors. Make four cuts on each piece. It turns out a blank of four petals. For one flower they need four.

Step 2. Open the cone and process the edges of the petals: give them a rounded shape, cutting off sharp corners. Do this with all preparations.

Step 3. On each part, make cuts towards the center, this will simplify the process of gluing the flower. Using a wooden stick or brush handle, you can twist the edges of each workpiece.

Step 4. Paint the blanks in any color you like. To add naturalness, the middle of the petals can be covered with paint in a lighter tone. Let the workpiece dry.

Step 5. Gently bend the tips of two opposite petals in half, glue them together, as if the bud is closed. Glue another pair of petals to this base.

Step 6. Do the same with the second and third blanks. And the fourth is cut into separate petals, glued to the resulting bud. The master class on crafting a rose from trays is completed.

With the resulting roses, you can decorate a ready-made photo frame or create your own. Centered on cardboard base rectangular shape you need to glue the photo, leaving a few centimeters around the edges. Empty edges are filled with flowers. Similarly, you can make a wreath on the door.

crafts with children

Paper egg cartons are great for crafts with kids. It is not a pity to throw them out if something suddenly does not work out. But this activity develops perseverance, stimulates creative imagination.

An interesting option for crafts with young children is a caterpillar (centipede). To make it, you need to cut a row of 5-6 cells from the tray, paint, decorate with ribbons, threads. Antennae and paws can be made from chenille wire. A little fantasy bright colors and the toy is ready.

For those who like to draw, you can make a box for crayons. If the cells are colored according to the colors of the crayons, you can kill two birds with one stone at the same time. There will be a place to store crayons, as well as the ability to sort them by color, while developing logical thinking in children.

The cell (cone) from the tray serves as the basis for creating various animals, birds and insects. Can make penguin, hare, whale, turtle, ladybug, chicken and much more that the imagination tells.

Everything ingenious is simple. A tray for a dozen eggs is a ready-made base for a ship. Install the mast, sail and go!

From the egg box, you can make original boxes for jewelry or needlework. The boxes are first covered with white acrylic paint inside and outside. Then they can be painted, covered with decoupage napkins.

papier mache crafts

Many use trays to create papier-mâché crafts. The boxes are crushed, soaked with water, mixed with glue (PVA, wallpaper, paste). It turns out an excellent mass for modeling. Having collected a large number of trays, you can make a figure for the garden, etc.

On the Internet you can find a large number of photos of crafts from egg trays. They can be used as:

  • feeders;
  • a bouquet of flowers;
  • containers for growing seedlings;
  • boxes and much more.

You will no longer want to throw away carton boxes from under the eggs to the trash can. They can and should be used for creativity. Create beauty with your own hands!
