How to weave a feather (bracelet) from rubber bands: step by step instructions with photos and detailed comments on each item of work. How to weave a peacock feather from elastic bands on a slingshot and on a loom with video How to make a feather keychain from rubber bands

Colored silicone rubber bands added richness to our world and colored the gray everyday life. Any needlewoman knows that with interesting material I want to create a variety of things that do not fit into the usual framework. Rubber bands allow you to create beautiful accessories that no one will definitely have. As well as a lot of cute little things, toys and even useful things - phone cases, clothes. We invite you to learn how to weave a feather from rubber bands. Beneath this short name are gorgeous bracelets and a small keychain, the descriptions of which you will find in this article.

About techniques and materials

The "father" of silicone rubber is Chong Chun Ng. This man came up with an invention that greatly facilitates the process of weaving. In the birth of the idea, he was helped by his own daughters, whose favorite pastime was weaving. A caring father designed a loom called the Rainbow Loom - a rainbow loom.

His family had to go through a difficult path, because. the idea was on the brink of death. The fact is that the first sets for weaving were not in demand. People had no idea how to use them, what they are for. The video, filmed by his daughter and niece, helped beginners learn the basics of weaving and gave rise to the new kind needlework - weaving from colored rubber bands. It quickly spread throughout the world, the masters began to invent various techniques and weave sometimes quite unusual objects. For example, this dress was sold for 170 thousand pounds. There are lovers of exclusivity who like original solutions.

Masters also love to use non-standard tools and invent new patterns and weaving techniques. So, the Rainbow Loom set consists of colored rubber bands, a rainbow loom, a slingshot loom and a small plastic hook that is used to transfer loops. The needlewomen introduced their own adjustments and began to weave:

  • On hook;
  • Crochet;
  • On a comb;
  • On table forks;
  • On pencils;
  • On fingers.

Each technique is unique, and by working with master classes, you can be convinced of this.

rainbow feather

A small keychain can be woven very quickly on a slingshot. This little machine is like a tool for doing little pranks. It has two columns, on which there are small recesses intended for the introduction of a hook. They need to be placed facing you. To create a keychain you will need:

  • White elastic bands for the base;
  • Six elastic bands of all colors of the rainbow for a pen;
  • Machine-slingshot;
  • Hook.

Choosing color scheme for your feather, you can use the natural color of the bird's plumage or come up with your own design. Look very nice smooth transitions, for example, from white to pink or a combination of the rainbow spectrum.

We suggest you weave a feather that will look like a small rainbow. This keychain will definitely give you a good mood.

Put on an elastic band on both columns of the machine, twisting it with a figure eight in the middle. Almost all products have such a beginning. The figure-eight rubber makes the craft stronger and is a guarantee that it will not fall apart as soon as you remove the product from the machine.

Now you need to throw three red irises on each column of the slingshot machine. Then a white rubber band is pulled over both cloves. Arm yourself with a hook and remove the loops of the elastic band-eight, stretching them through the rings of red elastic bands and throwing them over the column to the center. Do this first on the right, then on the left. Add the next color to the bars - orange. After it again comes a white iris, worn on both teeth. Remove the lower white loops to the center. You will see how the pen shaft is formed white color and just fanned.

Continue braiding adding the next color and slip the bottom white loops to the center. After you weave the last row of purple, two white loops should remain on the slingshot. Pull one end through the other and tighten the knot well. A small loop can be an independent mount or a base for fittings. You just have to remove your feather keychain from the machine and fix the rubber bands. The decoration for the keys is ready.

By increasing the number of colored irises worn on the columns, you can get a larger feather.

Beautiful bracelet

Using a rainbow loom, you can weave yourself a very beautiful peacock feather bauble. Its execution is quite complicated, so it is better for beginners to practice on simpler products. But a sophisticated weaver can quickly cope with the task. To complete the bracelet, you need to take:

  • Machine Rainbow Loom;
  • Rubber bands in five colors;
  • Hook;
  • Set of plastic clasps.

Carefully follow the photo instructions, then you will definitely succeed! Set the machine rows parallel to each other. In the bottom row, put a yellow elastic band on the middle and left pegs.

By connecting the pegs in pairs, create a "frame" around the entire perimeter of the machine.

In the middle row, connect the two lower columns with a black rubber band. Put on pink irises over it, as in the photo.

Add a black rubber band again and two red rubber bands. Continue alternating to the end of the row. You should get a "herringbone".

Green irises are worn as in this photo.

Turn the machine away from you and wind the yellow rubber band in two turns on the lower center column.

The set of loops is over, now they need to be removed in the correct order. Crochet the bottom row from the middle bottom prong and hang it on the bottom posts on the left and right.

From the middle column, first remove the red and then the black layer of loops.

The Feather bracelet is a rather large and voluminous bracelet with an unusual pattern. It is quite difficult to perform, so it is not suitable for beginners. This bracelet is woven on a loom; it cannot be woven on a slingshot. How to weave a feather from rubber bands with your own hands in a step-by-step MK

Required materials and tools:

  • Machine
  • Crochet hook
  • Rubber bands (5 colors)
  • Clasps

Please note that your machine is strong enough, weaving is involved a large number of rubber bands, they will give a high load on each column.

The machine should be located with the open parts of the columns away from you. Line up all rows of columns in one line. Take the yellow rubber band and stretch it between the first column in the first row and the first in the row in the center. In the left row, you need to sequentially pull the rubber bands from the first column to the second, and so continue to the end. At the end of the row, stretch the elastic from the last column in the left row to the last in the center. Next, you need to repeat all the steps in the same way for the right side of the machine.

We take a black rubber band and stretch it between 1 and 2 columns in the center. Next, we stretch the purple rubber bands, as shown in the photo above. To secure, repeat the same steps for the next row of rubber bands:

  1. We stretch the black elastic band in the center from 2 columns to 3.
  2. We stretch the red elastic band from 3 columns in the center to 2 in the left row.
  3. We stretch the red elastic band from 3 columns in the center to 2 in the right row.

We stretch the rubber bands diagonally until you reach the edge of the machine.

Next, we will place the rubber bands also diagonally, but in the opposite direction. To make it work, you need to return to the 1st row itself and pull the rubber bands diagonally from the 1st column to the center in the 2nd left row. We continue to perform these steps to the very end.

After we have finished placing the rubber bands, we will proceed directly to the weaving of the bracelet. We turn the machine with the open parts of the columns towards ourselves. On 1 column in the center we put on a yellow elastic band, twisted twice with a figure eight.

At this stage, we will deal with red rubber bands. We crochet a red rubber band going from column 1 in the center to column 2 in the right row, outweigh it by column 2 in the left row. Next, move the black elastic band in the center from 1 column to 2.

Let's move on to the green rubber bands. Remove the rubber band going diagonally from the 1st column in the left row to the 2nd in the middle, put it on the 2nd column in the center. Let's repeat the same with a rubber band stretched from 1 column in the right row to 2 in the center.

Go to the next row and repeat all the steps above. You should start with 2 middle columns:

  1. We remove 2 purple rubber bands from it and throw it in its place.
  2. We remove the black elastic band and outweigh it.

Let's move on to the extreme pegs:

  1. We remove 2 green elastic bands and throw them on the 3rd column in the center.
  2. We remove 2 rubber bands from it yellow color and throw it into place.

We continue this cycle until we reach the edge of the machine.

At the end of 2, we remove the yellow and unused rubber bands from the outermost columns and transfer them to the central one.

To make the bracelet the desired length, it must be increased. We crochet through the rubber bands on the last column in the center. Using a hook, we thread a new yellow elastic band and continue building up the bracelet. Once you reach the desired length, put on the clasp. The feather bracelet is ready! The color scheme may be similar to a peacock feather.

For beginners, weaving a Feather bracelet may seem like a very difficult task. It may even seem impossible. But using these videos as a help, you can avoid common mistakes and, thanks to visibility and comments, make a bracelet. Enjoy watching!

The Feather bracelet is a thick, rather weighty bracelet with an original pattern. It is quite complicated, so it is suitable for those who have already gained experience in weaving from rubber bands.

It was even more difficult to write instructions for weaving this bracelet. I had to spend several days. I hope the instructions are clear. If so, watch the video or ask questions in the comments.

What you need

  1. Machine Rainbow loom.
  2. Hook for weaving rubber bands.
  3. Rubber bands 5 colors.
  4. Clasp (C or S-shaped clip).

The machine must be strong. Since a lot of elastic bands will participate in weaving, they will give a large load on each column. Make sure that your machine does not fall apart: D.

First stage

Position the machine with the open parts of the posts away from you. All three rows of columns must be placed in one line.

Take a yellow elastic band (or any other) and stretch it between the first column in the left row and the first column in the center row. After that, go to the left row. Stretch the elastic bands in sequence from the first to the second column, from the second to the third and so on until the very end of the row.

At the end of the row, stretch the elastic from the last column in the left row to the last column in the center.

Repeat the same steps for the right side of the machine. You should get a closed loop as in the photo.

Second phase

Now let's move on to the next color. Take a black elastic band (or any other) and stretch it between the first and second columns in the central row. After that, stretch the purple rubber bands as shown in the picture (diagonally from the second column in the center row to the first in the left and to the first in the right).

To fix, repeat this action for the next row of elastic bands:

  1. Stretch the black elastic in the center row from the second column to the third.
  2. Stretch the red elastic band (you can change the color of the elastic bands in this row) from the third column in the center row to the second in the left row.
  3. Pull the red elastic band from the third column in the center row to the second on the right.

Third stage

Continue pulling on the elastic bands (diagonally and black in the center) until you reach the edge of the loom. It should turn out like in the photo.

Fourth stage

Now we will place the elastic bands diagonally, but in the other direction. It will turn out, as it were, the letter "V" in each row.

To do this, go back to the very first row and stretch the elastic diagonally from the first column in the middle row to the second in the left. Then do the same on the right side.

Continue making the letter "V" for each next row of columns until you reach the edge of the loom.

Preparing for weaving

We have finished placing the rubber bands. It's time to weave a bracelet, but for this you need to prepare everything.

Turn the machine with the open parts of the posts towards you.

On the first column in the central row, put on a yellow elastic band twisted into a figure eight (twice).

We start to weave a bracelet

To start weaving the “Feather” bracelet, crochet the lowest yellow elastic band on the first central column (it goes from the left column to the central one) and transfer it to the first left column. Then pick up the next yellow elastic band from the bottom (it goes from the central column to the right one) and hang it on the first column in the right row.

seventh stage

At this stage, it is necessary to outweigh the red rubber bands. Crochet the red elastic that goes from the first center column to the second in the right row, and hang it on the second column in the right row. Now, in the same way, hang the second red elastic band on the second column in the left row.

It remains to outweigh the black elastic band in the central row from the first column to the second. Do it.

Eighth stage

It's the turn of the green diagonal rubber bands. Remove the elastic that runs diagonally from the first column in the left row to the second in the center, and put it on the second center column. Do the same with the elastic stretched from the first column in the right row to the second central one.

Ninth stage

Finally, take the two outermost yellow elastic bands and hang from the first column to the second in the left and right rows, respectively.

Tenth stage

We pass to the next row and repeat all the previous steps.

We start with the second central column:

  1. Remove 2 purple rubber bands from it and hang it in its place
  2. Remove the black elastic band and hang it up

Let's move on to the extreme pegs:

  1. Remove 2 green elastic bands (one on the left, one on the right) and hang them on the third central post
  2. Remove 2 yellow elastic bands (one on the left, one on the right) and hang them in their places

Continue repeating this cycle for each next row until you reach the edge of the loom.

Eleventh stage

When you get to the edge of the machine, you will see 2 yellow elastic bands that are not used, they go from the left and right columns to the central one. Just remove each of them from the outermost column and move it to the central one.

It's time to finish. Most likely, the bracelet will be too short for your wrist. Therefore, in order to easily fasten on the hand, it must be increased. You can build up by weaving a single bracelet at the end. You can use two elastic bands at once so that it does not tear, since the “Feather” bracelet is very tight. I wove the usual single from one gum.

Pass the hook through all the elastic bands located on the last column in the center row. Use your crochet hook to thread the new yellow elastic band and continue to build up the bracelet in this way.

As soon as you reach the required length, put on the clasp.

The bracelet is ready to be removed from the machine. Take it off!

Final stage

In the first photo you can see how the bracelet will look like after being removed from the loom. Pull the other end of the bracelet and fasten it around your hand. Bracelet Feather - Ready!

I would be glad to see in the comments the color variations of your bracelets. Let's see whose will be the most beautiful ;-). Well, traditionally, for those who do not understand anything - Video lesson.
