Fairy hats with their own hands. DIY hat (54 photos): how to sew a fashionable and original style
Character: The most famous astrologer in our country - the astronomer Steklyashkin - is familiar to us from the book of Nikolai Nosov "The Adventures of Dunno". An active and inquisitive character is much at all kinds of inventions, but sometimes (because of his modesty) one gets the impression that it is easier for him to communicate with the stars than with l people.
Costume: The stargazer is easily recognizable by his blue robe with large yellow stars and a cone-shaped headdress with a tassel at the end; in his hands he holds his favorite attribute - a spyglass.
Robe can be remade from mother's blue or black, if available, if not, then it can be easily made from a piece of blue fabric. To do this, you need to build a pattern of a robe on paper (see Fig. 14 “Drawing of the Astrologer's costume”), and then transfer it to the fabric using a bar of soap or tailor's chalk. Cut out the details of the dressing gown (the main part and two sleeves), remembering to add 1 cm for seam allowances. Stitch shoulder seams and overcast. From yellow fabric (yellow brocade will look especially elegant), cut out the finishing strap of the robe, (“stitch the strap along the shoulder seam. Fold the two parts of the strap face to face and stitch along the outer edge, mm back to the front side. Fold the strap and the base of the robe facing face and sew along the edge.
Of the same yellow fabric as the plank, carve out the stars and stitch them on the main part and sleeves, using the scheme (see Fig. 14 "Drawing of the Stargazer costume"). Stars can be stitched using a zigzag stitch (almost all modern household sewing machines sew this stitch) or with a normal stitch, in which case the edges of the appliqué can be folded over. Stars can also be glued on. Moreover, it is not necessary to make them from weaving, they can be cut out of paper and glued or attached with a stapler.
Stitch sleeves with main piece. Overcast the seams of the sleeves. Stitch the side seam of the robe, passing into the bottom seam of the sleeve. Overcast the side seam of the dressing gown and the bottom seam of the sleeve. Fold up the bottom of the robe and sleeves. Iron the finished robe.
Cap can be made from thick paper. To do this, it is necessary to cut out the detail of the cap from thick paper according to the drawing, glue it along the side allowance, after gluing yellow stars, as shown in the drawing. Glue a brush to the top of the cone, made as follows: cut a strip of paper (20 x 7 cm), without reaching the edge, into strips 0.5-1 cm wide, roll into a tight tube and secure with tape or thread. Attach the finished brush to the end of the cone on a string.

Spyglass It can be a toy or even a real one (!). You can also make it from thick paper in black or white, followed by painting. To do this, cut out the parts of the telescope from paper and glue them together. To make a large phalanx of a telescope, glue a rectangle according to the allowance - you get a cylinder. Glue a “magnifying glass” to the upper base - a circle blue color, which is pre-cut along the edge at the distance of the gluing allowance. Glue a black circle to the lower base in the same way, which also has a hole in the middle with an allowance for gluing for subsequent attachment of the middle phalanx. The remaining phalanxes are made in the same way, with the only difference being that a circle with a hole on one side is glued to the middle phalanx, and a circle without a blue hole is also glued to the small phalanx on one side.
After making all the phalanges, glue them together according to allowances. All! The pipe is ready and calls for new discoveries!!!
And the school allows children and parents to show all their imagination and creativity. What could be more interesting than inventing and making costumes? Still wondering who your child will be this time? An interesting character is an astrologer. You can make a costume for him with your own hands.
cape
In fact, the astrologer costume consists of a mantle and a cap decorated with a scattering of stars. Traditional color scheme: dark background (blue or black) and decorative elements in silver and golden color. However, it will turn out no worse if you experiment with color, for example, take a light main fabric and contrasting decorative elements. Who said that a cape can't be green or red? Let each astrologer decide for himself. The costume can be decorated with stars different sizes and flowers.
The mantle is sewn from a large rectangle of fabric. A drawstring for a lace or ribbon should be sewn along the long side of the cut. Stars can be carved from shiny fabric, wrapping paper or use ready-made sequins, textile stickers for appliqué. A do-it-yourself stargazer costume is sewn without a pattern, because it is not difficult to determine the dimensions of a rectangle for a mantle. If there is not enough fabric, it is not necessary to sew a long raincoat - you can limit yourself to a cape just below the waist. The edges of the mantle can not be processed, but neatly hemmed or sheathed with fringe or tinsel.
We make a cap
The headpiece can be made from the same material as the cloak, or from a glossy cardboard that is similar in color. Make a blank template: to do this, draw a smooth arc on the cardboard from the corner so that you get a detail equal to 1/4 of the circle. On the bottom edge, measure a segment equal to the girth of the head, and add a couple of centimeters to secure. Glue the cap. You can fix it with If desired, decorate the workpiece with a cloth. Do not forget to glue or sew on the same stars as on the mantle - your astrologer is almost ready. The costume can be decorated with tinsel. It will be very interesting if there are also small stars on it.
What to add to the costume? Accessories and ideas
The image of an astrologer is perfect for both a boy and a girl. You can make an outfit for this character for an adult. The costume consists of a mantle and a cap. You can wear it on ordinary plain clothes that match in color. You can also wear a cloak over festive clothes - Nice dress or a shirt and trousers suit.
What accessories does the stargazer use? The costume of this character can be supplemented with a telescope (let it be a kaleidoscope or which can be pasted over with shiny paper and decorated with stars). And if you add to the outfit from the mantle and cap, you get a full-fledged wizard's outfit.
Do not be afraid to experiment and add interesting elements to festive clothes, and then you will get the most original new Year costume. A stargazer may wear a wig, or even a beard. Go through your home dressing room and you will surely find something interesting to complement this look.

Making a hat like a pirate
If suddenly the teachers in the group said that a hat was needed in kindergarten on a holiday, do not panic, even if you have never done anything with your own hands before.
First of all, you need to prepare the materials that you will need later: this colored paper preferably white, black and any other bright color to add originality to the hat, an elastic band for a hat, a needle, glue, as well as a felt-tip pen or a black pen.
Step-by-step instruction
Draw a square on black paper and cut it out. Please note that the side of the square should be equal to the short side of the A3 sheet.
Turn the cut out square into a circle by carefully rounding the corners of the shape.
Fold the white sheet in half lengthwise. Cut the resulting strip across to get a beautiful fringe, it is important not to touch the bottom edge.
Unfold the sheet and cut it straight along the folds. Slightly twist the fringe on each strip with a felt-tip pen or pen.
All curly stripes should be glued to the black circle.
It is important to pay attention to the fact that in order for the fringe to look neat, it is necessary to glue it in such a way that all the edges you folded look exclusively up.
Right in a circle, it is necessary to mark three points that will be removed from each other at the same distance.
Three folds are made from each of the marks to the next. As a result, you will have a triangle with equal sides. The hat brim must be folded up.
Thinking about how to decorate a hat, you can, for example, make two feathers. The technology is similar to the principle of creating a fringe.
Note!
For the front part of the headdress, it is necessary to cut out a terrible white skull with several bones. Then it is painted and glued to another folded field.
It remains only to pierce two holes in the hat with a needle and fix the elastic.
After such detailed instructions surely no one will have a question about how to make a hat with their own hands.
If you needed a hat for a girl for the holiday on February 23, then in this case the ideal option is to create a cap.

Note!
What should be the sequence?
- Fold the sheet in half with the short sides facing each other and unfold it with the resulting fold up;
- The corners located on top of the resulting figure must be turned down and then to the center, and then all the folds are smoothed out;
- It turns out a paper house with a neat triangular roof;
- The lower rather long rectangular strips must be turned up on each side and the folds smoothed again;
- Wrap the triangles that remained free in different directions and thus secure a homemade hat made from waste paper.

Note!
Decide on the height of your hat. Set the distance on the compass to match the desired height. Draw a semicircle on the lining and cut it out with sharp scissors.
- Usually, a 9-10 inch (23-25 cm) high hat is sufficient for toddlers and young children. And for youth and teenagers, a height of 11-12 inches (28-30 cm) is more suitable.
- When drawing a circle, place the compass needle in the middle of the bottom edge of your lining. Draw a semicircle around this point in an upward direction. Note that the flat edge of the part will be half as long as its height.
- If you need a clear hat height, then add 1 inch (2.5 cm) to the length, for the seams.
Roll the material into a cone. Roll up the lining so that the top is formed. Keep the bottom on the work surface.
- Once the circumference of the hat is equal to the circumference of the wearer's head, fasten the cone and try it on. If it fits well, you can continue. If it doesn't, make the circle bigger or smaller as needed.
Cut off the excess. Once you've finished fitting, cut off any excess lining on the inside of the structure. Cut as much as needed.
- Leave 1 inch (2.5 cm) of overlapping material on the inside of the hat.
Transfer the pattern to your fabric. Unroll the cone and place it on the fabric. Fasten with pins and cut out according to the pattern.
Iron both pieces. Press the lining and fabric well with an iron set to low temperature. Press down until the two parts are connected to each other.
- Using synthetic fabric, use a low temperature and be very careful not to melt the material.
- Read the instructions for working with the adhesive backing before working with it. In principle, the procedure is the same for any type of lining, but some differences are still relevant.
Sew the side. Roll the material into a cone and fasten with pins. Sew the incision by hand with a neat stitch.
Cut out the hat brim from lined fabric. Measure the circumference of your cone. Use a compass to draw a circle of the same diameter on the lining. Draw a second circle around the first one at a distance of 2-3 inches (5-7.6 cm). Cut out both circles so that you have a ring.
Connect the parts of the ring with an iron. Heat the iron well to melt the adhesive on the lining, which will adhere to the fabric. Make sure there are no non-glued areas.
- Use the same temperature when gluing the edges as for the middle part of the ring.
Tuck the margins as needed. When using material that is fraying, fold in the outer and inner edges 1/2 inch (1.25cm) each. Pin them together and sew by hand.
- Skip this step if you are using felt or other heavy material.
