How to tie a toy?

All kinds of knitted bears made of boucle yarn, bunnies - from angora, pussies - from mohair are so popular with kids that they are ready to flood the whole house with them. About how to tie soft toy knitting or crocheting, read our article.

Methods for crocheting or knitting toys differ significantly from each other. For example, all the details of crochet toys are knitted in a circle using a single crochet. This is what the article teaches -. Here are the toys knitted, can be made from one or more large parts stockinette stitch, and already in the final, almost ready-made little animals are complemented by some touches. An example is the description of the work from the article -.

For work, take knitting needles No. 3, yarn in the amount of 50 grams, filler and eyes for the future bunny.

Knitting process:

A soft toy with knitting needles is ready.

A crocheted fish can be an element of a didactic rug, a washcloth, a pillow or a toy. For such crafts, it is not necessary to buy special threads. The remnants of yarn, which are always in the needlewoman's box, are quite suitable. A washcloth fish can be knitted from bright synthetic twine.

You will need

  • - the remains of yarn, approximately the same in thickness:
  • - a hook of the appropriate size.

Instruction

1. Consider the image of any fish. You will see that her body is a circle or an oval. It may also have a shape close to a triangle. The fins and tail are most often triangular. From this and should be based on knitting. The pattern may not be done. However, for a toy or pillow, you will need 2 body parts, and they must be the same. Therefore, remember or write down how many loops you add.

2. For the element of the didactic rug and for the washcloth fish, tie a flat oval. Make a chain of air loops. It is not necessary to close it in a circle, it will be in the middle of the oval. At the end of the chain, make 1 loop on the rise and knit a series of simple columns. In the initial loop, tie 3 such columns. Turn the work so that the next row is knitted on the other side of the chain.

3. Next, knit simple columns in a spiral, evenly adding loops. Opposite the ends of the initial chain, knit 3 or 5 in one column, as you did in the first row. In between, also knit 2 columns in 1 so that the oval remains flat. Tie it to your desired size.

4. To make a toy fish or pillow, knit 2 convex ovals. Start them in the same way with a chain. With 3 rows in every fifth column, tie two. The torso should not gather in folds, but should be convex enough to fit a piece of foam rubber or paraplain into it. Connect the halves of the body with each other with simple columns, leaving a small hole and without breaking the thread. Stuff the toy and close the seam.

5. The fin can be knitted immediately from the torso. Mark its beginning and end on the back of the fish. Knit a row with threads of a different color. From the second row, begin to slowly lower the loops to make a triangle. He can be anyone. For example, you can evenly decrease 1 loop along the edges in each even row. Then you get an isosceles triangle. And if you decrease 1 loop in front through a row, and after 2 in the back, you get a fin tilted towards the tail. Make 1 or 2 fins on the belly of the fish. It can be just stripes that also start from the torso. Knit them to the desired length without adding or decreasing loops.

6. Tie the tail. This detail allows you to express your imagination like no other. The tail can be made, for example, in the form of a fringe tied crochet along the line. You can make it in the form of several multi-colored stripes or triangles. Mounting methods may also be different. For example, knit stripes. Fold them together, aligning the short sides, fasten crochet and tie to the back of the body. In the same way, you can connect several triangles. If you have loose synthetic threads, make a bundle out of them, attach it to the body with one end, and fluff it with the other.

7. Embroider eyes and mouth. They can also be knitted. Cast on a chain of 5-7 air loops for the eye. Close it in a circle. Double crochet 10-15 into a ring. Tie the eye to the body.

If the fish is intended for a didactic mat, make a hole for the eye in the front of the body. In this case, there will be a button on which the fish is fastened as an eye.

Crochet colorful fish.

Quote from Tasha92 Read the WholeTo your quote pad or community!

The fish are small, 3-4 cm in length, depending on how thick the threads are used. In order to knit such fish, you need minimal knitting skills: be able to knit single crochet (sbn), double crochet (dsn), connecting stitches (ss), increase (inc) and decrease (dec). For knitting a fish, I needed the following materials and tools: Iris threads (two colors or shades), crochet hook No.

Since the fish is small, it is important to count the loops (a change in the number of loops, even by one, will be noticeable in the proportions of the fish). We knit the loops of the previous row for both walls. Nose and body we knit the fish in a circle, without lifting loops. 1 row: with a light thread we collect two air loops(or make an amigurumi loop),

then in the first loop (or in the amigurumi loop) we knit 6 single crochets.

2nd row: 6 single crochet.

3 row: in each loop we make an increase (inc) - 6 times (12). 4 row: (1 sc, prib) - 6 times (18). 5 row: (2 sc, prib) - 6 times (24). It turns out this nose:

6-9 row: 24 sc. For convenience, when knitting 6-9 rows, at the beginning of the sixth row, I use a thread from the beginning of knitting as a marker, then you can not count the loops.

We got these nose and body:

Then we make decreases. 10 row: (2 sc, dec) - 6 times (18). 11 row: (1 sc, dec) - 6 times (12).

We fill the fish with padding polyester, slightly squeezing the sides and giving the body a shape.

12 row: 6 sbn, we finish the row with a connecting column.

Tail. 13th row: With a thread of a different color we make 2 air loops (vp) - lifting loops. I leave a long, about 40 cm, thread, which I then knit the fins with. The thread does not interfere, as it is always inside the tail. We knit in each loop of the previous row 2 sc (12). At the end of the row we knit a connecting column.
14 row: 3 ch (lifting loops), 2 dc in each loop (24). We end the row with a connecting column.
15 row: we make the binding of the tail with arches - ch 3, then sb in the next loop,
Repeat until the end of the row. Thus, 24 arches are obtained.
Fasten and cut the working thread. You can experiment with the tail: If you want the tail to be less magnificent, then in the 14th row you can alternate (1 dc and 2 dc) - 6 times (18). The tail can be tied in the following way: 3 (or 2) ch, connecting column in the next loop, repeat until the end of the row. Then the tail will be a little shorter. You can knit two rows of arches ... In general, there are a lot of options for knitting a tail, it all depends on your imagination. Fins. Thread the thread left at the beginning of knitting the tail with a needle into the upper part of the head (where the upper fin will be can be determined by the shape of the spout: the spout on one side will be more "pulled up").
Knit 7-8 double crochets along the back.
Turn knitting and knit arches: 2 stitches, then a single crochet in the next loop.
Knit to the end of the fin (7-8 arches). Then pull the thread
Thread the needle and pull it through the bottom of the fish.
Knit along the tummy of the fish 6-7 single crochet.
Pull the thread, thread it through the needle and thread it through the hole at the beginning of the tail.
Fold the tail and sew it so that the synthetic winterizer is not visible (if desired, the tail can not be sewn, then it will be more magnificent). Fasten the thread.
Sew on eyes with black thread.
The fish is ready! The fish can be attached to the base for a keychain, the base for a brooch, make a phone pendant, a magnet, hairpins, use it as an element for a slingobus (tie a bead), use it as a counting material, a material for learning colors by young children, etc. I use fish as a pendant for pens and pencils (at work, such pencils and pens remain on my desktop, and do not "go" to my colleagues' workplaces).

If you are planning to make the interior of a children's room in a marine style, then, in addition to stickers, you can decorate the walls with knitted fish. Also, these cute crochet toys can be used as hanging toys on a mobile above a baby bed.

Another knitted fish will decorate the bathroom in a wonderful way. And in the living room, you can equip a place in an ordinary aquarium with knitted fish.

The fish can be crocheted or knitted. It all depends on what kind of needlework tools you are better at or what gives you more pleasure to knit.

Knitted crochet fish

Crochet crocheted fish can be done in half-columns. You can knit a fish from two halves or in a circle. If you knit a fish from two parts - front and back, then you will need to perform decreases and additions along the edge of the knitted fabric to form the tail and the rounded shape of the body of the fish. If you knit a fish in a circle, you will need to perform all the same reductions inside a knitted fabric. It's easy to do.

We talked about how to perform decreases and additions in one of the crochet lessons and even attached a video instruction on the specified topic to the lesson.

Fins and tail of a fish crochet, can be done using a twisted crochet post. Remember that to make a twisted column, we need a special pointed hook. Without it, it will be almost impossible to tie a twisted column.

You can knit a fish from yarn of the same color - you will get a solid fish, or you can use leftover yarn different colors, making a pattern on the fish, for example, from colored stripes.

Knitted fish knitting needles

knitted fish knitting needles are performed in the same way as fish, crocheted: either from two halves, or circular needles round. You can also use plain yarn or yarn in different colors. If you use special yarn for wet felting, then, tying the fish in the usual way and washing it in washing machine, you can get a fish by felting.

Working on a knitted fish encourages needlewomen to fantasize. You can impose round and long fish, small and large fish. You can even knit fish of different breeds - flat flounder or whiskered catfish, long-nosed pike or shark. With a little imagination and patience, you can easily transform a nursery or bathroom, living room or ... kitchen. Can you imagine how surprised the guests will be if, instead of dried fish for beer, you offer them to eat fish made of woolen or cotton yarn? Of course, after a few minutes of general fun, you still have to put the expected culinary masterpiece on the table in order to avoid offense and misunderstanding from the guests 🙂

To make a thought pillow in the form of a fish, you will need a little more yarn and patience than to knit a small fish, but on the other hand, the use of such a fish will be more versatile and justified.

I finished knitting the largest Marinin's order - a goldfish. Judging by the size - a fish :)))
Surprisingly, it turned out to be easy to knit and, in principle, I am satisfied with the result. Well, the client himself is delighted, I have already managed to take the fish to the garden, and today I was overwhelmed with enthusiasm and praise there :)))

Well, now the diagrams and photos.
Source, but there are inaccuracies in the descriptions that I already found during work, so here I will write already edited schemes.
The largest - in fact, the main - part of the toy is the head with the body. They knit together.

Here is the total of 42 rows:

View from below, from the "belly"

From here begins the knitting of the "neck", although one would like to call it a scruff :) Here, knitting is also not circular, but with turns (thanks to them, the head passes into the body). And from here I began to fill my head with filler.

43r) We count 4 loops from the center of the "belly", attach the thread there and knit: 3 half-columns, 62 sbn, 1 half-column, leave the rest of the loops untied. We turn knitting.

86r) 24 sc in a circle, decrease, break the thread.

Here is such a fan-like creation turned out:

Stuffed with filler as knitting, so as not to interfere with knitting.

87p) change the thread to a different color. Increases in a circle in all 24 loops - 48.
88r) 48 sc in a circle.
89r) 2 sc, increase - 64.
90-92r) 64 sc.
The author writes: "Do you want a longer tail? Knit another rows of 10, 64 sc."
I didn't knit.

From here begins the knitting of the caudal fin, each of the two parts is knitted separately. The tail is divided in half, and the thread is attached exactly in the middle.
1p) we knit 32 sbn and close the row in a ring. It turns out that we divide the tail in half. This is the first fin.
2-7r) 32 sc.
8p) 4 sc, decrease * 5 times, 2 sc.
9p) 3 sc, decrease * 5 times, 2 sc.
10p) 2 sc, decrease * 5 times, 2 sc.
11r) 1sc, decrease * 5 times, decrease.
12r) 5 decreases, 1 stb.
13p) 3 reductions, close the hole, after stuffing it with filler.

We knit the second tail fin in the same way. If a hole has formed in the base between them, we sew it up.

We tie the bottom of the caudal fins with single crochets, as shown in the photo and then with lace.

I knitted lace right away, and it is it that takes the most time, although it is easy to knit.
Scheme:

The author modified the scheme, throwing out the penultimate row, because she thinks that the lace comes out too lush; I did not do this and knitted according to the scheme, not paying attention to corrections. The only important change is that in the first row of single crochets in each sc you need to knit 3 double crochets, and then continue to knit according to the pattern from the second row.

Tail with lace:

Lace closeup

Then I knitted the dorsal fin:

Lateral fins
1p) We collect a chain of 12 ch. In the second loop from the hook we knit 2 sbn, then 9 sbn, 2 sbn in the last loop, turn the knitting and knit 9 sbn on the other side of the chain. It turns out 22 sc.
2-9r) Next, we knit in a circle 8 rows of 22 sc. It turns out such rectangular "pockets".

Further, the author proposes to tie the fins with lace in a circle in the place from which knitting began, that is, 1 row. I knitted on the sides too. Like this:

The fins are stuffed and sewn on.

Then small details were knitted: a crown, lips and eyes.
Crown
We collect a chain of 20 ch and close it in a circle.
1-5p) 29 sc.
6p) 2 sbn, then 2 air loops, skip under them 2 sbn of the previous row, 2 sbn - and so on in a circle.
7p) We knit in the resulting arches 3 double crochets, 3 double crochets, 3 double crochets in each arch.

Lips
Upper lip.
1p) 6 sc in the ring.

3p) 1 sc, increase - 18 sc.
4p) 2 sc, increase - 24 sc.
5p) Fold the part in half and tie 5 sbn, 2 half-columns, 5 sbn. Knit so that half-columns are located in the middle of the part.

Underlip.
1p) 6 sc in the ring.
2p) increase - 12 sc.
3p) 1 sc, increase - 18 sc.
4p) Fold the part and tie the sc.
We sew both parts and sew.

Eyelashes
1p) 5 air loops
2p) starting from the second loop from the hook, knit 2 sc in each loop * 4 - 8 sc.
3p) we knit a double crochet in each sc of the previous row, knit an air loop between the double crochets.

I also knitted my eyes differently. I will post both options here.
We tie buttons on the legs.
white thread
1p) 6 sc in the ring.
2p) increase - 12 sc.
3p) 1 sc, increase - 18 sc.
4p) 2 sc, increase - 24 sc.
5p) 24 sc.
6p) 2 sc, decrease.
7r) 1 sc, decrease.
We knit blue details 2 pcs.
1p) 6 sc in the ring.
2p) increase - 12 sc.
3p) 1 sbn, increase - 18sbn.
Sew them to the tied button.
We knit black details 2 pcs.
1p) 8 sc in the ring. Sew them on blue details. Embroider white highlights on each eye.

The eye is knitted from the pupil, so knitting begins with a black thread.
1p) 6 loops in the ring
2p) increase in each loop - 12 sc.
The thread changes to the color of the iris, mine is blue.
3p) 1 sc, increase - 18 sc.
4p) 2 sc, increase - 24 sc.
The thread changes to white
5r) 24 sc in a circle
6p) 2 sc, decrease.
7r) 1 sc, decrease.
8p) decrease to the end. The eyes are slightly stuffed with filler. A highlight is embroidered on the pupil

Then I sewed the eyelashes to the eyes, the crown and lips to the fish, and finally the eyes. The expression of the "face" of the fish depends heavily on their location.
And here is the beauty :)

View from the back

Side view

Well, what can I say? .. The fish came out beautiful. Knitting was fun. And despite the fact that the description of knitting the head and torso looks threatening, in fact, everything is simple. I just had to print out the description and keep it in front of my eyes all the time, marking the already connected rows with a pencil.

Impressed by the cartoon "Finding Dory", Lupita Suarez, the author of the blog LoopyYarn, knitted little Dory for herself and shared a pattern for a knitted amigurumi toy.

The Blue surgeon fish is very whimsical and hard to take root in an aquarium. Therefore, it is better to crochet such a little friend for the child, he is soft and can travel out of the water.
