The principle of pattern formation
Any crochet zigzag pattern (the diagram below clearly illustrates this) is based on a consistent reduction and addition of single crochet or double crochet.
Due to the fact that two air loops are knitted at the highest point of the peak, and two columns are not knitted in the hollow, the total number of columns in each row is kept at the same level.

Knitting a dense pattern
