Beadwork is one of the currently popular types of arts and crafts. Stunning earrings, bracelets, brooches and other jewelry come from the hands of craftswomen. And what flower arrangements mmm, just a glimpse! It turned out that among the readers of my blog there are needlewomen who are engaged in these types of creativity. For them I tried to find interesting and inexpensive ways to store their main material - beads.

1. matchboxes. Matchboxes are a great place to store your treasures.

And if you dream a little, you can come up with a whole chest of drawers. One significant minus is that the content is not visible, but you can make inscriptions or drawings.

2.Kindersurprises. Creator chocolate eggs with a surprise and did not suspect how many interesting things can be made from his yellow boxes, including storing beads and seed beads in them.

3.Shoe capsules. Great place for beads. They are transparent, with a well-closing lid and small in size.

4. Jars for baby food. Small jars with airtight lids are perfect for organizing the storage of beads.

5. Jars for spices.

6. Zip bags.

7. cocktail straws - an unusual, but, in my opinion, a very interesting solution. One end of the tube is tightly closed, and beads are poured into the other end.

8. fishing boxes. One of the most expensive, but also the most convenient ways to organize materials for beading.

9. Forms for muffins or ice. The major downside is the lack of a lid. But if this doesn’t scare you, feel free to take out the ice and fill in the beads!

10. Candy boxes. Candy pads are sometimes very useful.

As you can see, you can save on storage space for beads and organize it using waste material and hand tools.

In what and where can beads be stored after purchase, if they have not been all used? When a lot of zip bags with beads accumulate, such a question arises. Of course, you can leave the beads in the purchased package, but after a while such packages are torn, the beads crumble and mix with each other, which makes further work with it very difficult. I want to organize the workplace and put everything on the shelves. And including all fantasy, the search for containers, jars, boxes, the required sizes and easy to use, begins.

What can serve good place to store beads?

To quickly lay out everything and prepare the beads for work, you can go to the store for packaging. In specialized stores for needlework and creativity, you can buy special ready-made containers with glass jars for beads or plastic boxes with cells.

You can save a lot by going to a hardware store for a container, where you can buy such containers for screws and bolts much cheaper, or go to a fishing store, where you can also find very useful and convenient tackle containers and use them to store beads and beads.

Well, where else the master and the needlewoman did not look after themselves boxes, so this is in the pharmacy, there is also something useful for storage. These are specialized small plastic jars for testing. They can also be used for other purposes, but as a convenient place to store beads.

Or use penicillin vials if the stock of beads is not very large.

If you look around at home, you can do without spending money and find the necessary boxes. For example, matchboxes are very suitable and you can even make whole ones.

Each girl has different cosmetics available, the remaining empty cream jars will also be useful in the creative work of the master.

There are also empty candy boxes. Of course, they are not very convenient for storing beads, and the most unpleasant thing that can happen, with a small collision of children, pets with such a box, all colors will have to be separated like Cinderella. But it can come in handy when embroidering and if you hide it from everyone at the end of work.

Containers for ice and forms for baking cupcakes can also serve as needlework and creativity.

Tiny baby food jars, hodgepodges, spice jars can also be a place to store beads.

Kinder surprise plastic jars are also a good place to store them; transparent and tightly closed, which is important. The same jars are found in hair dye, they contain disposable gloves.

Containers, jars of gouache paints are also suitable. If there are children involved in drawing circles, they can very well replenish the supply of such jars. They are tightly twisted and can last a very long time.

I had beads in maynas jars! It was so inconvenient, and so I decided to make myself such a box!

To begin with, we need: matchboxes (20 pieces) or, as in my case, cardboard, ruler, pencil, eraser, glue, and just in case colored paper for pasting the box (in my case, self-adhesive paper)!

If you have 20 matchboxes then go to point 13.
Well, I didn’t have them and I decided to make them myself.
Well, you will need to make such 2 parts for one box.

to begin with, we will make such a detail, the width of the entire strip is 50 mm, the width of narrow strips is 14 mm, and the width of wide strips is 37 mm. It is necessary to draw both parts clearly, otherwise the workpieces may simply not fit together. It will not be convenient when working with beads, it will constantly fall out from your stubborn stress to get the boxes, and naturally everything will crumble from sudden movements. Therefore, it is desirable to do everything clearly in size.

It is necessary to make cuts to the inside of the rectangle along the longest narrow strips. (In the figure, in principle, you can see in what places) Next, bend along all lines.

we do the same on the other side of the workpiece. As a result, we should get such a box

insert it into the first blank and now the matchbox is ready.

We make 20 such boxes, if you wish, you can make more!

To begin with, we take 5 boxes, we move the rest to the background for the time being, we will not need them temporarily.

We take the first box, smear its upper part with glue and glue another box on top. We smear the next one and so on all five boxes.

This is the column we should have.

Naturally, we do the same with other boxes. As a result, we should get 4 such columns.

On each column on one side we make a wall for convenience, you can get the top and bottom boxes. how to make a wall: take a strip of cardboard, bend a small strip on both sides (focusing on the height of the column). Glue one fold from the inside of the upper box (to the top), the second fold from the inside of the bottom box (to the bottom). And so with all 4 columns.

Notice you glue them like this, of course, with a sealed wall inside so that you can pull out the drawers. for now, such a box should turn out.

Here they are not yet glued, so do not pay attention.
In the center you will get a hole, of course you can leave it for pens or for something else, but I don’t want to leave it.
And in order to remove this hole, I cut out 2 squares along the top of the resulting box.

Then I glued them on the bottom and top of the box.

Yes, you will need colored paper or, in my case, self-adhesive paper. I didn't want to change the color of the box, love White color. So I covered it with white paper.

Well, then we already need everything for registration. For example: Ribbons, beads, beads, glitter decorating glue, good fixing glue (in my case, moment glue for a bow, and PVA glue for beads) and transparent nail polish (necessarily transparent)

From the ribbons, I made a small bow and glued it to the middle for a moment.
I drew the corners with PVA glue and sprinkled with beads. I let the glue dry all over, carefully turned it over so that the excess beads would crumble. And on top I covered it with a transparent varnish for greater reliability of gluing beads. in other corners, I drew curls with decorative glue with glitter.

There are many storage options for beads and other craft supplies. Beads and beads can be kept in special round jars, which are designed specifically for this. It can also be successfully placed in special boxes with sections, bait boxes, fishing boxes, baby food jars, matchboxes, candy boxes.

If desired, small beads can be placed in “kinder surprises”, ice or baking molds, boxes from under, jars of cosmetics or tea, jars for cereals or bulk mixtures. As an option, they may Plastic container or spice containers.

Pros and cons of the listed capacities

It is very convenient and safe to store beads in special compact jars. But the small size will not allow to place in them a large number of. As a result, you will accumulate a lot of such jars. Some needlewomen prefer to keep their craft supplies in containers divided into sections. This is quite justified, since beads of any color will always be at your fingertips. But when scattered, it will mix, and for quite a long time you will have to choose the right shades from the total mass.

Bait boxes are sold at any fishing store. They are inexpensive and are compact. But the small size will not allow you to put all the beads and beads into one such box. Perhaps it is better to choose for storage small materials big fishing boxes. This is a more serious and reliable option. Some craftswomen at first store their beads in matchboxes. But such boxes can only become a temporary shelter due to their unreliability.

Plastic or glass baby food jars are an easy and inexpensive option for new mothers who are into beading. They contain a lot of beads. By the way, some prefer to store their beads in yellow containers from Kinder Surprises. But this option can also be considered only as a temporary one. It's just that such "eggs" are very unstable and unreliable. In principle, it is possible to arrange the beads in candy boxes or ice containers. But sooner or later, the small size and lack of a lid will force you to look for another place to store materials. Surely you have old jars for storing photographic films at home. They are light, compact and reliable. The only drawback is the obvious lack of visibility.

Running out of cream or blush? Do not rush to get rid of empty jars. They are useful for storing beads. True glass containers are quite fragile and can take up a lot of space. But all the beads will be very clearly visible. For those who like to store beads in kilograms, jars for tea or cereals are best suited. Plastic containers are also large in size. But this option is less reliable than banks.

Perhaps you will be satisfied if you place the beads in spice jars. Everything is very clearly visible in them, but the dimensions leave much to be desired. It turns out that the container for storing beads should be selected in accordance with the individual needs of your creativity.
