  1. If a sheet of cardboard is golden on only one side, you need to glue the two sheets together. If there is no shiny cardboard, make it yourself: apply a thin layer of regular glue to thick paper on both sides and sprinkle it thickly with glitter. Cut the cardboard into 20 identical strips, each 1.5 centimeters wide.

Making such a craft is as easy as shelling pears, the main thing is to have paper and glue on hand, we will tell you everything else step by step in the master class. A voluminous star can be made from either white or colored paper - it’s a matter of taste; you can also experiment with the size.

New Year's three-dimensional star on the Christmas tree - step-by-step instructions

The quilling star can be used as a Christmas tree topper or as a hanging Christmas tree toy. In the first case, you will need to attach a small cone to the craft, in the second, thread a thread for hanging.

This technique can be used to make different shapes and sizes.

Materials:

  • paper;
  • PVA glue and glue stick;
  • toothpicks;
  • polystyrene foam 5 cm thick.
  • star pattern;
  • stripe pattern.

We print a star onto paper, cut it out along the outline and place it on the foam.

We stick toothpicks into the foam at the kinks.

Remove the paper star.

We go around paper strip all supports.

We remove the supports and get a paper frame.

At this stage you need smooth out the corners well crafts.

Move the workpiece to a flat surface, cut the remaining strips of paper into 4 pieces each. Let's start making curls.

A curl on a pencil.

A curl on a toothpick.

Curls can be made in two ways:

  1. using a pencil, then the middle becomes hollow;
  2. using a toothpick, then the center of the spiral is filled.

It is better to do curls using two techniques and combine elements within the craft.

We fill the sprocket frame with spirals.

There should be no voids between elements.

The number of curls can be used to adjust the shape of the star. The more curls of paper are placed in the body of the star, the more massive it will be in the end.

Both stars are made using the same template. You can see that in the craft on the left there are more curls, on the right there is a star with fewer spirals - it is acute-angled and has a visually smaller size.

All that remains is to fasten all the elements together. This is not difficult to do, and twisting the curls takes a longer period than gluing them.

Dip a stick and PVA glue.

We spot-glue all joints.

Let the glue dry for 10 minutes and admire the result of the work. Paper star Using the quilling technique, it turns out tender, airy and simply delicious!

Video master class for the craft - an air star using the quilling technique

The star has long been an image-symbol carrying its own meaning. We are used to seeing a star on the top of the Christmas tree for decoration and in the interior of our rooms the day before winter holidays and on New Year's Eve.

So that you can also decorate your favorite corner and make it a little more cozy, you can try making a star out of paper and cardboard with your own hands. Although it is simple, such crafts look very interesting and impressive. From ready-made small stars you can make a garland or a whole composition, or simply throw volumetric stars from paper into a box with a gift. It will look great!

Star symbol

  • A five-pointed star inscribed in a circle is nothing more than a symbol of perfection. It means the 5 elements (5 elements that make up the whole world).
  • The six-pointed star of Bethlehem refers to the Nativity of Christ.
  • Eight-pointed - began to bear the name of the Virgin Mary.

How to make a star out of paper? Different ways

Quilling star

So, the first and quite popular way of making paper crafts is a technique called quilling. It consists of creating certain compositions from strips of colored paper, twisted in a certain way and connected to each other.

To do very a simple star from quilling step by step, us you will need: strips of paper of several colors (you can buy them at a craft store or cut them yourself, the desired width is 5 mm), scissors, PVA glue, an awl, a pen rod or a toothpick (to wind the paper strips).

For each ray, you need to make 3 small elements in the form of a leaf or drop, one medium one, which will be in the middle, and one more - the largest one, encircling all the others. First connect the middle loop to one of the small elements, then glue two more on the sides. And only at the end encircle the entire resulting part with another strip. Do this in several layers to make the loop stronger. Make 5 of these parts and glue them together. Our first star is ready!

Volumetric eight-pointed and five-pointed star made of paper

The simplest way

There is also a simpler version of a voluminous five-pointed star. Simply cut out 2 star parts using a template or a self-drawn diagram. To make the drawing even, you can first draw a circle and then fit the finished star into it. So all the rays will be the same in length. Better to use thick cardboard, Can different colors. In each of the parts, make a cut to the centers. In one - in the center of one of the rays (upper), and in the second - in the center of one of the recesses (lower). All that remains is to insert them into each other and that’s it.

All these options are more suitable, for example, as Christmas decorations or just pendants for anything, as they turn out quite big size. But you can also make small convex stars. They will look very interesting as a garland if you string them on a strong thread. So how are they made?

Small convex stars

To make such stars, prepare strips of paper 9 mm wide and 221 mm long. It is important to make them even so that there are no difficulties in further work. Make a loop closer to one of the ends and insert the end of the strip into it. Then remove it inward from the back side of the workpiece, and wrap the remaining strip around the resulting pentagon. For each face - at least 2 layers. All that remains is to squeeze their middles towards the center, and the first star is ready.

For the next eight-pointed star we will need 8 squares of four different sizes. Fold each of them as in the picture. Then glue squares of the same size together to make 4 eight-pointed stars. Now connect them together. These are the stars we got.

Any of the presented methods can be mastered easily, you just need to carefully study the diagram and do everything carefully. Paper stars You can add sparkles, patterns and other small details, draw patterns.

Of all the paper ones reviewed earlier on the site Christmas decorations for the New Year 2016, this toy is the most complex; its production will not tolerate inaccuracy and sloppiness. But for such decoration, again, a minimum of materials will be required; you will need a simple office set - colored paper, a glue stick, thread and scissors. You can also use a star to make a tip for the top of the tree; how to quickly and easily attach it is described below. To make the work easier, a workpiece is included.

How to make a five-pointed star with your own hands

1. Print the required number on the printer - halves of the future decoration. We select the size by scaling the drawing when printing. To print large stars, it is better to use thicker paper.

2. Cut out each half of the star along the contour.

3. We draw the blunt end of the scissors along all bending lines. If the paper is thin, do not use much force.

4. We bend each workpiece along the lines to form the volume of the star. The printer's print should remain in the inner volume of the star.

5. Glue the two halves together. It is necessary to glue carefully, precisely aligning the edges. The first decoration may not turn out very smooth, but experience comes in the process of work and the next ones will turn out better.

6. At the end, glue a loop of thread inside to hang the star on the Christmas tree.

Forming the volume

We cut out and glue the required number of toys and attach them to those already made. Making Christmas tree decorations develops fine motor skills and spatial imagination. By making such crafts with your own hands together with children, the work will bring not only pleasure, but also benefits for their development. Stimulating video below :)

You can use a paper star to make a top for your Christmas tree. Moreover, a star made of A3 paper can quickly and cheaply solve the problem of finding a tip on big Christmas tree. Below is a method for installing a topper on a table top tree. To do this, we will not construct a regular tip, but will do it simpler and use available materials. We will install the star on an empty ballpoint pen rod, and secure the rod itself using two wire twists from the cables, but thin ties and other available material will do. A larger top will require a knitting needle or pointer.
