Do-it-yourself house of Santa Claus. How to make a house with your own hands

If you often do creative work with children, you will certainly want to make Santa Claus's house with your own hands. This piece looks very nice. The child will be happy to show imagination when creating a miniature model of this fabulous architectural structure. Using the tips from the article, the student will be able to independently make crafts. Younger children will need adult help. Organize an interesting, exciting creative process together with the guys.

Original New Year's crafts

The photo above clearly demonstrates how festive and elegant things made by children are. Ideas for souvenirs winter holiday, of course, a lot. They make snowmen, Christmas decorations, snowflakes, bells, socks for gifts, Christmas trees, decorate champagne bottles and glasses. Make a house of Santa Claus with your own hands - original and unusual idea. Any version of such crafts looks very beautiful, because it is a composition of several items. Usually the hut is complemented by a fence, snowdrifts around and, of course, a figurine of the owner of the dwelling.

Materials and tools

So, you have decided to create a house of Santa Claus. The craft is made from simple and affordable things that every home definitely has. If something is missing, everything can be easily bought at the nearest store. To work, you will need the following:

  • Cardboard or ready-made box, corresponding in size to the figure of Santa Claus.
  • Ruler.
  • Pencil.
  • Scissors or
  • Glue.
  • Paints and a container of water.
  • Brush or sponge (sponge).
  • (silver, mother-of-pearl, holographic, velvet).
  • Imitation of snow (cotton wool, cotton pads,
  • Decorative elements (tinsel, sequins, sequins, white or silver beads).
  • in the form of snowflakes, stars (optional).
  • Fence sticks.
  • Sculptures of Father Frost and Snow Maiden.
  • Christmas trees, snowmen and other winter holiday attributes.

Modern materials from sets for children's creativity allow you to create very interesting and spectacular crafts. Work with beautiful cardboard, such as ruffled with a metallic print, or hole punchers are very impressive for children. Such activity develops imagination, perseverance and stimulates the manifestation of interest in artistic and design work.

Do-it-yourself Santa Claus house: how to make a base

To make a strong blank for a model of an architectural structure, you can act in three ways:

  1. Take a box of a suitable size, cut windows and doors on the side surfaces, build a roof from the upper plane.
  2. Make all the details (walls, roof slopes) from a sheet of cardboard and glue them together.
  3. Draw a blank on cardboard in the form of a sweep diagram, which will later be folded into a three-dimensional house.

When working with the first method, it will be more convenient to first disassemble (stick) the bottom of the box and fold the structure itself so that you do not have to draw windows, doors and cut them out. The main thing here is to find a blank of the right size. If it is, it will greatly simplify the process of creating crafts. You can start decorating almost immediately.

The second method, the simplest and most understandable for the child: I drew one wall, the second, etc., cut everything out and glued it together. In this option, it is important to carefully and firmly connect the parts so that the house does not fall apart later and does not look like a sloping hut.

The third method is the most reliable, but here the child is unlikely to cope without the help of an adult. Here you need to show design skills by imagining how to assemble a three-dimensional thing from a flat sheet using folds. As a sample, you can take a box of any size that has been disassembled to a flat blank and draw a template of the scale that suits you. If there is no extra box that can be pasted, find on the Internet a drawing of any square or rectangular package and use this scheme.

We decorate the workpiece

New Year's crafts (photo above) should look festive and elegant. To do this, it makes sense to work in the following sequence:

  1. When you have made cardboard blanks, color them in suitable colors.
  2. Cut out architraves, doors from decorative paper and glue them in place.
  3. Make strips from corrugated cardboard and stick on the corners of the structure. This will be an imitation of logs.
  4. You can cover the roof with cotton pads.
  5. Fill the space around the house with cotton wool, white napkins soaked in PVA or other material that imitates snow.
  6. Make snowflakes and stars with a figured hole punch. Stick them on the house.
  7. Collect a fence from sticks.
  8. Arrange the figures of New Year's characters, Christmas trees.
  9. Decorate the craft with sparkles, glue poured beads or sequins.

In a word, decorating a house is an exciting creative process. Fantasize!

How to make a collage craft

If you don't have the time or enough cardboard to build a three-dimensional house, you can do the same in relief using the appliqué technique.

Let the child first make a drawing of "Santa Claus's House" on a dense base, and then cut and paste together the same decor that was described in the instructions for decorating the three-dimensional structure. This option is much faster and easier to do. By the way, with such a collage, in which a drawing and an application are combined, you can decorate a New Year's card.

As you can see, you can make a beautiful house of Santa Claus with your own hands in both volumetric and embossed versions. Both methods allow you to create spectacular things that are suitable as a task for children in kindergarten or school, and also become great gift from a child, for example, for grandparents by the New Year.

December 16th, 2012 02:35 am

It's time to start actively preparing for the upcoming holidays, and therefore my today's master class will be devoted to how to make such a house with surprises or, in other words, an advent calendar, although, of course, it is not quite right to call it a calendar, because. there are no numbers on it, but this is not the main thing here;)

Before starting, I’ll say that it’s really possible to do it in 1 day (and if you get help, it’s even faster) and it’s much easier than it seems!

Initially, I wanted to make such a house out of wood, but as always, without doing anything, I decided to get by with cardboard. I'm lucky! I found a perfectly matching puzzle box! If you do not have one, just assemble something similar from separate pieces of cardboard

Let's deal with the bottom of the box first. Let's draw it into the number of squares (future cells) we need, leaving a place for the "scene" on top. We cut off the upper edge of the box from its bottom and cut the resulting strip in the middle. this is our future roof, which we lengthen and connect with a strip of cardboard of the same width.

Now we need to make a grid for the cells. To do this, we cut the cardboard into strips of the desired length and width, then at the intersections we make cuts to the middle of the strip. Assemble your mesh to make sure the locations and depths of the cuts are correct.
If you, like me, use cardboard "from under something", prime it, after which it can be decorated. Personally, I covered everything with decoupage paper, but because I'm far from being a great decoupage artist, I didn't photograph the process;))

Now the lid of the box. It must be cut off in that place. where will the "scene" be, so that when you close the box again you can see it;)
Again we draw places for cells and, most importantly, doors! Then we make cuts, taking into account how you see the opening of the doors. I cut like this. that would be bent like a regular door, but it can open up and down!

We assemble, or rather close our box, having previously smeared the sides of the box with glue, and wrap it tightly with threads for better pressing. We leave to dry.

And also, while our box dries, we cut out a triangle from cardboard to close the hole and glue it. I glued it on masking tape, but you can also glue it with plain paper.

By the way, the photo shows that a window has already been cut out in the box (as well as a door that is not visible here). It is really better to cut them out during the assembly process of the box.

Inside the "scene" we make the floor, I also fixed it with masking tape.

When the glue is dry (make sure everything sticks), prime the box well. There are already 2 layers of soil in the photo! But there are almost no traces of the previous pattern of the box =)

Now that preparatory stage finished (yes, yes, it was just a preparatory stage, because everyone can assemble a box with a house, but what next to do with it!?)))) let's move on to composing the decor.

I always advocate using the materials already in the house, the main thing is to understand how best to use them!)

Having rummaged around with my child in the designer, I found excellent windows, a door and a fence! Now we need to give them the right look! Because the plastic does not really like to be painted, I recommend that you first prime it and then paint it in as many layers as you need for beautiful view(I needed 2 coats)

It's all about the little things! Therefore, we will make such a pleasant trifle as a Christmas wreath on the door. To do this, we will make a ring out of wire, wrap it with a strip of green corrugation (fix the tip with glue), make a bow and glue it to the ring.

I will not modestly say this detail, I consider it my find! With the help of beads and buttons we will make door handles.
We glue the "moment" bead to the button and when the glue dries, cover them with gold paint.

In order to make a Christmas tree in a house, I used a green corrugation, a light bulb as a base and plasticine, into which a light bulb is stuck to obtain stability. By the way, and here I was lucky, I found plasticine in a child, which becomes hard when it dries, but, of course, such plasticine is not necessary, the main thing is just to fix the light bulb.

The corrugation really does not like water (and everything liquid), so I fastened it with adhesive tape and only the very top I already glued with glue.

Sled! What is Santa Claus' house without Santa Claus? and what a frost without a sleigh!
We take matches and cut off the sulfur, put the sticks into the parts we need and coat WELL with PVA, when everything is dry (leave for an hour, to be sure), we collect the parts together and paint over them.

Again, I was lucky, I found a deer (broken) in toys from Kinder Surprise, but since there is a sleigh, a deer is also needed. The deer was brown, I dyed it gray, then serrated it, painted the antlers gold and sprinkled it with gold glitters (sparkles).

We need thick cardboard, cut out the squares of the desired size, glue them, glue the sides with a strip of paper and ... draw a fireplace =)
For greater beauty, you can cut socks out of felt =)

Glue something transparent to the back wall to create the effect of glass. I glued the cellophane in which flowers are usually wrapped.

We glue corrugated cardboard to the roof. First you need to paint the cardboard to match the paper. We cut snow from fleece and also glue it =)

We glue the window, the door, if necessary, make "jambs" =)))

It's time to arrange and glue everything that we thought up

Having done this work, I’ll say that if it weren’t for the soil, the result would be much worse, so I still recommend purchasing it if you don’t have it. Or you can use white gouache... a lot of white gouache. But it must be dried well, otherwise when you apply a layer of already colored paint, it may mix.
Be sure to use a sharp knife so that the cuts are even and not torn. I did not have a very sharp knife and the result was torn edges that I had to sand to improve the look.
To do everything quickly, do not lose everything while the house dries in glue and in the ground, do stuff!
Before you start doing, go through your bottomholes =) to understand what and how you can do from what you have =)
The number of cells can be anything, you can do it like me, you can do it like a calendar, the numbers do not have to be from the 16th to the 31st
(2 weeks before NY), it can be, for example, from 31 to 10, in general it can be any numbers that you want to make a holiday for the child (or who you will do there))))

And... legend... what to tell the child?
We said that we made a house for Santa Claus, who will arrive on the night of December 15-16 and will live in our house until the new year. For every day that he lives with Ans, in gratitude, he gives us a small gift. Once a day, you can come up and open the door, taking a gift.

That's all! I hope you find it useful and... Happy New Year ;)

Using unnecessary materials that any craftswoman has, you can make cute New Year's houses. They can be made of cardboard, ready-made boxes, felt and any other materials.

What will you need

To get started, you'll need to stock up on an empty cornflake box or tech pack—anything that's flat, hard, and clean, basically. You will also need corrugated cardboard- it can make an excellent foundation. Additionally, the product will require:

  • sharp paper knife;
  • metal ruler;
  • small scissors;
  • glue used for use with various textures (preferably white);
  • glue stick;
  • sequins;
  • several sheets of good quality white anti-corrosion paper;
  • a couple of sheets of carbon paper;
  • white acrylic paint for "whitewashing" the building;
  • acrylic paints of other colors that you plan to use;
  • small pieces of colored velvet;
  • a piece of film or cellophane;
  • various Christmas accessories (snowman, Santa Claus, Christmas trees, snowflakes) for additional decoration.

Before we have a Christmas village, let's figure out how to build the base of each house with our own hands. The basis is rectangular box, the finishing of which must be completed before the house and Christmas trees are installed on it. The dimensions of the base are small - up to 20 cm in length and width, height is about 1 cm. By the way, you can use candy boxes.

Cut out the base

For this craft, the base and parts of the hedge are cut out at the same time. The base was made of thick corrugated cardboard, which is used for the production of large boxes. Parts of the fence were made from lighter cardboard, similar to the one used in parcel boxes. The fence can also be cut out of the package from the tablet or phone.

We glue the base

We assemble the base from several pieces of corrugated cardboard glued together. Then we glue a thick white sheet of paper onto the base, carefully covering the side surfaces with it.

We make out the basis

When the base is dry, glue a beautiful thick paper on top (you can use a glue stick). First, you should wrap the base with it like how gifts are wrapped.

We install a fence

When our product dries, we glue the cardboard fence. We are waiting for drying and carefully cover the fence with white paint.

Choosing cardboard to create a house

The hardest cardboard will be needed for the manufacture of elements that hold the walls of the house together. Thinner material is useful for the roof, chimney and walls themselves. The door and window frames can be made from thin cardboard.

Cut out the elements of the house

We take a pencil and a sharp knife. We draw the elements of the house on cardboard and carefully cut it out.

Advice! You can transfer a drawing from a drawing through carbon paper.

It will be easier to choose the size of the roof when the house is already assembled. To install the walls on the base, you should prepare the supports, the length of which will be equal to the length of the walls. Supports should be interconnected along the perimeter for greater strength of the building. For their manufacture, you will need the most rigid cardboard.

To attach the roof and chimney, cut out the same cardboard "beams", the length of which will match the length of the walls of the house.

The video shows a simple version of creating the base and frame of the house:

Installing and painting the house

  1. We glue the chimney, check the dimensions of the roof again. We connect the “beams” of the perimeter together, glue the connecting supports for the walls. There is no need to glue the future house to the base yet!
  2. We install the walls of the house, then the roof. Lastly, we attach window frames and door trim.
  3. We cover the house with white paint. Don't skip this step as the subsequent paint will adhere better to the rough finish.
  4. When the house is dry, choose the right colors for it to your taste. You can use acrylic paints with silver and gold tint. Next, paint the base and fence. For the base, it is better to choose White color. The fence should stand out, so we choose more dark colors. It can match the scale with the house. We cover the roof and fence with white “snow”.
  5. We cover the craft with sparkles. Do not try to sprinkle the whole house with them at a time - it will be more accurate if you decorate the house with separate elements. White glitter is perfect for snow.
  6. Glue pieces of velvet to the back of the windows. Best to use bright colors, then you get such an effect, like illuminated windows. You can simply “glaze” the house with pieces of thick cellophane. It's good to use red velvet, it looks the most traditional and creates a realistic backlit effect.
  7. We install the finished house on a dried base. Errors and glue stains can be sprinkled with sparkles.

Installing additional items

To complete the picture, let's add New Year's accessories - you will need small Christmas trees and any Christmas toy (snowman, Santa Claus). You can decorate the house with snowflakes. Sprinkle the glued elements with sparkles. Christmas trees can be decorated with the smallest New Year's toys or a garland.

We clean the finished house for final drying. Since the paint takes a long time to dry, it is best to make several houses at the same time. While one dries, cut out fragments of the next. So in a couple of evenings you can get a whole Christmas village!

felt house

The New Year's house can be made in several variations - it can be flat or voluminous. Volumetric crafts can be made part of New Year's composition, it is desirable to make a house on a Christmas tree flat.

The toy is easy to make by involving children in this process. The easiest to make Christmas tree decoration- the silhouette of the house.

List of materials:

  • Piece of thick felt
  • Rain
  • Scissors
  • Bell or ball
  • Thread and needle
  • Ribbon

From the rest of the felt, according to the template, you can cut out the silhouette of the house and make one or more through windows in it. It implies the use of thick felt, or two layers of thin felt glued together - the craft must keep its shape and not bend under the weight of the scenery. You can glue two layers of thin material using PVA or adhesive fabric.

The New Year's house and the windows around the perimeter must be decorated with rain, and in the windows hang a small Christmas ball or a bell. They can be sewn on the inside and hide the seam with rain. Fold the ribbon in half and sew to the top of the craft - now you can hang it on the Christmas tree.

chubby felt house

You can make such a craft with your own hands. It is necessary to cut out two identical silhouettes of houses from green or red felt and make windows, doors and a roof in the form of applications. The two halves must be sewn together and filled with cotton. Such a Christmas tree toy should not be large - the optimal size is 5-10 cm.

It is better to cut out small details that will decorate a fairy-tale house from a denser material. It is advisable to choose more bright colors of felt - then the toy will not be lost among other colorful Christmas tree decorations.

You can fill the house not with cotton wool, but with sweets. In this case, it will be not only a Christmas tree toy, but also a beautiful one. gift wrap. The dimensions of the felt house must be selected depending on the number of sweets with which it will be filled.

house with a surprise

This master class describes the creation of a three-dimensional felt house. It is best to choose a medium-hard material - it is easy to cut and retains its shape well. Fairy house will not only decorate the Christmas tree, but also a sweet surprise for the little ones.

List of materials:

  • Felt pieces
  • Candy
  • Ribbon
  • house template
  • Thermal Transfer Sheet
  • Thread and needle

You can decorate New Year's houses not only with felt details, but also beautiful pattern. To do this, you need to pick up a New Year-themed thermal transfer sheet and transfer the image to the material. You can do this with an iron.

The Christmas tree toy will have only two sides, so it is enough to cut out two parts from a piece of felt. Cut them out, taking into account the allowance for the seam.

Kupina Tatiana

It's been raining for more than a week, you can't go outside. So you have to come up with something to entertain the children.

Today's mine master-class will be devoted to how to make something like this house.

Before I start, I'll tell you that it's easy to do in one evening. (and if they help you, then even faster).

I needed:

Cardboard box;

colored paper;

Disposable wipes (white);

I found a perfectly suitable box, it can be of any shape and size. I cut out the window, glued it with blue paper. Then I made shutters out of napkins. I glued the roof, a triangle, and two napkins on top.
