And in 1951, half a century after opening his first store, Shogoro Yoshida gave the company the name by which it is known to this day: Orient Watch Co., Ltd.
In the "Big Three"
In the same 1951, the Orient Star watch was created - the Star of the East, and in 1959, sales of the Royal Orient model began, which laid the foundation for the golden age mechanical watch Japanese production.
