.

Girls are girls!
First we create a problem for ourselves, and then we try to solve it))
Here, for example, nail polishes - almost all of us love a bright manicure. We paint the nails either according to the mood, or in the color of the new handbag, we ask the master to draw deer on New Year and flowers as soon as it smells in spring. And even if there is no time to go to nail salons, and too lazy to paint nails at home, any of us will have a few bottles with the most favorite colors.
And the VseNaPostakh team became curious again - how the storage of varnishes and manicure accessories is organized for the most ordinary girls.
There will be many more options to come!

Storage in baskets, boxes and other "improvised means"
I'll start with myself:
A few years ago, I ended my “quiet insanity” with varnishes, when I was interested in painting my nails every 2-3 days. different colors, draw patterns and match the design to the color of wardrobe items. Now almost all colors have somehow quietly gone from my stocks (and there were also purple and orange, even blue and green shades!), Now, as an inveterate conservative, I cut my nails short and paint them exclusively in red!
And I have a small collection of reds in a small basket in my dressing table drawer. There are also several bottles with a base and a colorless coating, nail polish remover and cotton pads, and a separate basket with various files and other manicure items.

According to the results of a survey of my girlfriends, acquaintances and colleagues, it turned out that many people store their “varnish-colorful” stocks in this way.
Storage of varnishes in baskets and boxes is very convenient - the bottles do not roll around the entire box, a feeling of order is created, and it is convenient to pull the box into the light and choose desired color.

Here is what the girls themselves say about such a storage system:
Alyona: “I have a sad story with varnishes - I don’t like them, but they don’t like me. However, I do have a few vials, kept in a tea tin in a kitchen table drawer. There is also a manicure set. In the kitchen, it is convenient for me to do a manicure, because there is light and there is water.”

Tanya: “I keep it on a shelf in a closet in a box from some kind of souvenir. True, all varnishes no longer fit. On the one hand, it is convenient - everything is in one place, on the other hand, it is a problem to find the right color and an ever-increasing number of bottles. I want to find a more rational solution for storage!”

Oksana: “In the green box are the varnishes that I actively use now. In the far - those that are waiting for their fate: either they will be presented, or their season will come. There are also all sorts of manicure items, liquid for removing. My life hack is tiny ceramic liquor mugs - I pour nail polish remover or nail polish thinner into them. And when the nails are already made up, I correct crooked lines or smeared varnish. I dip a flat brush and straighten it.

Anya: “My varnishes are stored in a wooden box from a bottle of cognac. The box is getting small, but I don’t want to change it - now it’s so neat and beautiful!”

What other storage options are there?
Homemade organizers.
If you are a creative person and like to make all sorts of interesting things for decor and interior, then surely shopping baskets and boxes will seem too boring and ordinary. After all, you can make a storage system for varnishes with your own hands!
The simplest thing is to glue a cardboard box of a suitable size with wrapping paper and make dividers in it. On the Internet you can find interesting ideas such options and even detailed master classes with complex multilevel structures.

Natalia: “This, of course, is not the limit of perfection, but now my entire collection of varnishes is stored compactly and all colors are visible. I saw the idea on the Internet and modernized it for myself - this is a box from the scales, which I supplemented with thick cardboard shelves and pasted over with oilcloth.

Olya: “I have crazy hands! Somehow I bought assorted cookies in a box with compartments and the idea came by itself! I didn’t change anything inside, but I sheathed the sides with satin and made all kinds of decorations - I store not only varnishes, but also cosmetics in this organizer, everything is in one place and looks beautiful on the chest of drawers!

A worthy alternative to handmade boxes - ready-made universal organizers with dividers.
They can be plastic, wooden or cloth. Such organizers can be found in the economic and construction departments, ordered in the VseNaMestakh online store, or wait for a parcel from China.

And for the most picky lovers of manicure there are special professional cases and storage boxes: huge suitcases, plastic boxes with cells or small acrylic coasters and special shelves - all this can be found in specialized manicure stores. The sad disadvantage of such a storage system is that these items are quite expensive.

Inna: “At first it was a hobby, and now additional income - I do manicure at home. Here I have the only place where order and harmony. All bottles are stored in a professional acrylic stand on a special bedside table with wheels. All liquids and tools for manicure are right there. ”

Galya: “I ordered a nail polish shelf to fit my locker from a company that makes all sorts of things and showcases from plexiglass.”

Let's look into the bins of laco-maniacs, shall we?
And if there are not 2-3 lacquer bubbles, but 10? And if 50? Or even a couple hundred? Do you think so many varnishes can only be in a manicure room? It turns out that there are real varnish maniacs (the girls call themselves that) - they collect entire collections of varnishes of their favorite brands, chase for limited editions, mix colors from different jars, share their impressions and exchange their treasures.
Among my acquaintances there are such girls and, surprisingly, none of them has a convenient storage system - varnishes gather dust on open shelves, take up whole drawers of chests of drawers, stand in assorted boxes in the closet ....

Lucy: “Laaaaaaa! They stand on two open shelves and regularly fall from there, gather dust, all the colors are not visible at once ... Of course, there is some sort of organization system here - all varnishes are arranged by brand (I remember what color I have for which brand, I have never taken a double did not buy). Ideally, I want narrow shelves so that the varnishes stand in one row, and then I will measure them in meters!

Tatiana: “This is chaos! My polishes are everywhere - in the chest of drawers, on the dressing table, in the bathroom cabinet, stuffed into all my cosmetic bags and bags. I really don’t remember where I have what kind of varnish, and I spend a lot of time looking for it! Enrages!

Olya: “I took a whole box of varnishes in the chest of drawers, in the drawer of additional boxes, sorting, arranging, and still you can’t see where everything is!”

What options?
But the girls were happy to share their ideas and Internet finds that they will someday implement.
Lucy: “Here is my ideal! Beautiful, compact, everything in sight! When only hands reach to do something like this ... I saw it on aliexpress, but I think you can build it yourself. Waiting for inspiration!”

Tanya: “I dreamed of a special case, but it costs so much! On one forum, I saw an amazing idea: a girl uses a suitcase to store miniatures for board games. It is not just big, but huge - in a standing position it reaches the knees, and at the same time it is made of lightweight plastic, there is even a shoulder strap, the latches are reliable. But the most important thing is what is inside! There are six foam inserts with forty cells each! The foam rubber stretches, holds bubbles well, and the partitions can be cut out and rearranged to the right place. It remains to tune in and place an order!”

Olya: “I found a simple master class on the net - you need to buy small magnets (I saw “everything for the holidays” in stores) and glue it with superglue on each bottle of varnish. And attach the bubbles to an iron sheet, but at least to the refrigerator!

Oksana: “I can’t sleep peacefully now - I want to do the same: I saw a picture where varnishes are stored in a thick office folder with strings - such a strong box-casket turns out. Tall bottles probably won't fit in there, but most of my nail polishes will love this move."

The girls gave me more ideas:

  • In large cosmetics stores or paper catalogs, sometimes special cosmetic bags for storing varnishes, they are compact (several pieces) or quite roomy (a hundred bottles will easily fit in).

Svetlana: “I noticed an unusual cosmetic bag in the catalog for a long time. Come up with the same thing - a handbag with a bunch of compartments! I bought it and eventually began to use it as an organizer for my varnishes - it fits a lot into it, and when folded, the cosmetic bag takes up little space. An indisputable plus of such storage is that varnishes do not delaminate, because when I open / close the cosmetic bag, the bottles constantly change their position - either on their side, or upside down. It's better than just sitting motionless on a shelf."

Olya: “A mini cosmetic bag for several bottles - and even in another country I can paint my nails according to my mood!”

  • Famous jewelry organizer in the form of a dress with many pockets. Varnish lovers adapted it to their needs, the main thing is to make sure that it is securely fastened to the bar!

A collection of nail polishes can become a decor item in the interior.

  • From the remains of moldings or ceiling plinths, you will get small narrow shelves that can be painted in the desired color scheme.
  • The same shelves (or narrow boards) can be placed in a beautiful baguette - why not a picture?
  • Cute touches are multi-story cupcake stands. Who said they're only for treats?

That's how many different ideas and options we could find! What storage systems do you have? Or which options do you like the most?

In my little black box

I have been repeatedly asked in the comments where and how I store my makeup supplies at home. In truth, I'm still in the process of organizing and equipping new storage areas, but I can show you something. Not so long ago I bought a very successful thing, as a result of which my lacquer collection was finally successfully placed and practically systematized. Here is where it is currently located:

I have already shown two press kits - with varnishes and - and they are filled with the same varnishes that arrived in them.

Some pictures are enlarged - I draw your attention if you want to consider in more detail.

The next receptacle is a case for L'Etoile cosmetics (I already showed the general view of it in):

In it, I placed varnishes of those brands that I have a relatively large number of copies. These are Estee Lauder, China Glaze, Essence Top Coats:

Sally Hansen(Nail Prisms series, rarity), O.P.I. (one lacquer missing - I lost it somewhere), Rimmel, Sally Hansen (Xtreme Wear series) and a lone Nubar in its separate nest:

At the bottom of the boxes laid out tools for manicure.

Separately - a box with top coats (not dryers) and nail art products (I don’t know why I bought them - I didn’t start painting on my nails):

The box with bases is the most popular one: there are both healing bases and leveling bases.

Separately - a box with various accessories:

These are magnets for magnetic varnishes with different patterns, a set for Dior craquelure (I used it on my nails last year), a strange set ring for coloring Essence, their own french stencils and a bunch of nail files, which for various reasons I don’t use or use inactively:

Lacquer dryers live in a separate transparent suitcase, as there are a lot of them.

Here's what I have on this moment is in the range:

I have another such suitcase, where I stuffed rarely used varnishes of non-standard sizes, but I did not take it off.

But the most important and interesting thing is my big suitcase, which contains the main part of the varnishes.

A little preface is needed here.

The fact is that I always wanted to store varnishes exactly “on their side”, as in the large suitcase shown above: it is in this position that their shades are most visible, while when stored vertically, only the caps (or bottoms, depending on how you put it) are visible. but the color is not visible through the bottom). The ideal box for storing varnish for me was the L’Oreal “bottle” box, which I already showed, but I only have one, and the nests there are made exclusively for Loreal varnishes, that is, of a specific shape.

As it turned out, the chest simply opened, and the suitcase of my dreams was easily accessible. You just had to look not at all among cosmetic accessories. The solution was a suitcase for storing miniatures used in board games. It is very large (in a standing position it reaches my knees), but at the same time it is very light (so far empty, of course), as it is made of plastic. Closes with convenient snaps

Wide, thick shoulder strap included:

And most importantly, here's what's inside:

These are foam inserts with cells. There are six of them, forty cells each:

cells different sizes, although at first it is imperceptible. I will demonstrate with the help of varnishes in bubbles of different heights:

Here's how they fit into the cells - you can clearly see that M.A.C. and Vivienne Sabo, which are very different in size, each fit into its cell almost perfectly:

In fact, cells with largest size I really miss - most of my varnishes are just that height. I laid out the varnishes in accordance with colors, although not too strictly - the main thing was to place them as conveniently as possible.

All subsequent photos are enlarged.

Here is the bulk - red:

Here - golden, orange, light:

In this sector - dark and blue (with a small amount of green):

The intermediate "ribs" of the cells are easily cut, so for Orly and Sally Hansen of the Salon Manicure series, we made three cells in a row - two by cutting out the partitions and then inserting them in a new place:

The same was done for Dance Legend (I lost one of their bottles somewhere, so the cell is empty) - I think I will buy a lot more of their varnishes, so this is not the final:

And here are separately collected those polishes that I haven’t worn yet and haven’t shown on the blog, respectively (but only those that fit in size - the rest are on my shelf and diligently callous on my eyes):

The fact that the suitcase is not completely filled does not bother me: Intercharm is coming, and it remains to be seen how many varnishes I will pick up there, as usual.

I am very pleased with the suitcase, although I had to work on the size of the cells. I highly recommend it - few people have heard of such things, probably, but the thing is convenient.

What do you think of this kind of storage?
Was it interesting to see the collection (more precisely, most of it)?
And how do you store varnishes if you have a lot of them?

Even if a girl prefers to take care of her hands in the salon, there are several vials of nail polishes in her cosmetic bag. Having a supply of bottles at home means having the opportunity to repaint your nails according to your mood or update your manicure before an important event, when there is no way to get to a professional. Now many have mastered the techniques of salon coatings, successfully apply them at home, so the number of bubbles can be more than a dozen. Where to store an arsenal of varnishes and hand care aids? On a comfortable shelf! About what they are, and how to make them with your own hands, we'll talk in this article.

Finished coasters

Cosmetic holdings specializing in the production of accessories and materials for manicure offer to purchase ready-made stands from them. They are also called "organizers". They are made from a variety of materials, differ in functionality, appearance, capacity. Such shelves are suitable for those who do manicure not only for themselves, but also earn extra money, ennobling the hands of clients. Stands allow you to demonstrate the richness of the lacquer palette. For girls who keep countless bottles of nail polish at home “for the soul”, organizers save space in the room and provide order.

Production material

Metal

Strong, durable, rather expensive design for storage of vials. The choice of design and color is wide. There are models in the form of hearts, a circle, tree branches, standard square and rectangular. The main advantages of stands made of metal:

  • withstand significant weight;
  • do not melt;
  • not capricious in care (just wipe the dust);
  • do not break when hit, falling.
metallic

plexiglass

The strong material applied to production of show-windows, trade stands. Shelves made of it weigh little, so they are easy to assemble. Plexiglass is not afraid of high humidity, does not fade, withstands the "attack" of chemicals. If you accidentally spill varnish on a shelf, you can easily wipe off the stain. Unfortunately, the material quickly loses its original appearance if handled carelessly. There are scratches and scuffs.

Plexiglas

Tree

A common eco-friendly, practical option. If the rails are securely fastened, the stand can withstand the considerable weight load created by the vials. The advantage of a wooden shelf is that you can repaint it yourself if you want to update the interior. However, if you spill some liquid on the wood, a noticeable stain will remain.

wooden

Plastic

Budget designs that differ in the quality of the material, color, shape. Decided to purchase a shelf made of such material? Make sure that it does not bend under mechanical stress, and the thickness of the plates is at least 0.5 cm. If you use heavy bottles, the stand may not support their weight, collapse or bend ugly.

plastic

Construction forms

Manufacturers mass produce ready-made organizers in the following configurations:

  • hanging shelf;
  • multi-tiered structure (in the form of a slide);
  • single-level stand;
  • vertical showcase.

Each type has its own merits. Choose the one that suits your goals and the number of vials. It is not worth buying an oversized, multi-tiered stand if you have 10 bubbles in your arsenal.

By the way, in private workshops for the manufacture of interior items, you can order a shelf of any configuration. In the forges, an interesting metal organizer is forged, professionally painted in the desired color. In small factories specializing in the manufacture of furniture, a unique wooden structure will be made for you.

What to look for when buying?

If you decide to buy a stand for manicure products, pay attention to some of the nuances.

  • Capacity. Get an organizer that will fit all your funds plus 5 more bottles. There is no point in buying too large a structure for home use. It takes up a lot of space and is expensive.
  • It is better if the shelf has sides. You can put bubbles on them at an angle. This allows the lacquer to flow into one corner, and you to use the coating "to the last drop". In addition, the sides protect the bottles from falling to the floor.
  • Additional holders. Mounts for brushes, files, scissors, stands for special means care products are useful for those who like to keep manicure accessories in order in one place. It's comfortable!

handy nail polish holder

How to make a stand yourself?

If none of the above options suits you, make your own nail polish shelf. We will share with you a simple instruction for making an organizer for about 25 medium sized bubbles. You will need the following materials at hand:

  • thick cardboard;
  • wrapping paper;
  • fabric tape 1.5 cm wide;
  • PVA glue.

Cut out strips from cardboard:

  • 8 pcs. size 21 * 4 cm (these will be the "steps" of the slide);
  • 1 PC. size 21 * 6 cm (auxiliary part, needed at the end of the work);
  • 2 pcs. diagonal 15 cm, width 17 cm, height of the right side 14.5 cm, left - 5 cm (side walls);

Cover the pieces with wrapping paper. It is better to take matte, dense. Glossy, shiny bad "friends" with glue.

Connect each 2 strips measuring 21 * 4 cm to each other at an angle of 90 degrees. You will get 4 "corners".

Apply an additional bead of glue to the inner joint for reliability. To hide the seam, mask it with a satin ribbon.

It's time to connect the steps together. Glue all 4 corners together to make a ladder.

Connect the resulting design with the side parts. The bottom will be empty. With the remaining part measuring 21 * 6 cm, glue it.

Your bottle holder is ready!
