Now we connect the multi-colored parts with each other, sew them together, leaving a hole at the back of the head. Through it we stuff the body after it has been turned out, then we sew it with a hidden seam.

How to make a snake out of fabric. Operating procedure

1. Choose a fabric. It is not necessary to buy it in the store. Perhaps you have some pieces, trimmings or things that no one wears anymore. We need a very small piece - approximately 20X40 cm. 3. Cut out the details from the fabric. Body (curved part - 2 parts), inner part of the mouth (1 part with a fold), and oval eyes (1 part).


4. If you have a sewing machine on the farm, we sew two parts of the body together, leaving the round part of the head, marked on the template with marks, unsewn. If there is no car, it does not matter, we sew it manually with an overcast seam.

5. Now - the most difficult work. The body of the snake must be turned out. To do this, you can use scissors or some kind of stick. Carefully turn inside out and straighten the seams. We iron.

6. Sew on the inside of the mouth. It is necessary to combine the front side of the mouth with the front side of the upper part of the head

and sew along the edge. We turn this part out.

7. Now we fill the grits inside the snake. We chose buckwheat. It is important that the cereal is clean. To be sure, you can wash it and dry it in the oven. Make sure it doesn't burn. We fold a piece of paper into a cone, insert it into the snake's mouth, and feed it with buckwheat almost to failure. This must be done carefully so that the buckwheat does not spill out of the snake. Gradually move the croup to the very tip of the tail.

8. Sew the inside of the snake's mouth to the head, leaving a small hole for the final filling of the body with buckwheat. We stuff the snake tightly enough.

To make the toy look neat, and the seams were even and did not "spread", we first sweep all the details (Fig. 1), then sew them with a seam "by the needle" (Fig. 2); sometimes we will use a hidden seam (Fig. 3).

1. You need to cut out the following parts from felt (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11).

2. We sew colored rectangles (details 1,2,3,4,5), applying to each other with a long side. Color order: yellow, red, green, yellow, red.

Sew the tip of the tail (6) to the red part of the body.

3. Fold the resulting part in half lengthwise and sew. Detail 4 is not sewn up - through this hole we will stuff the toy with filler.

4. Turn inside out and fill loosely. The hole (detail 4) is sewn up with a blind seam (Fig. 3).

5. We make the lower part of the head. Parts 7 and 8 are folded with the front sides inward, sewn, turned inside out and loosely stuffed with filler.

6. We make the upper part of the head. We sew parts 9, unfold, fold with part 8 with the front side inward, sew, turn inside out and fill with filler.

7. Baste the tongue (10) to detail 8 on the lower part of the head.

8. Fold the top and bottom of the head together, with the pink sides (pieces 8) facing inward. Sew the pink parts over the edge.

9. Sew the head to the body with a hidden seam. The seam of the body should be in the middle from the bottom.

10. Making eyes. We will assemble part 11 on a thread around the circumference, lightly stuff it with filler and pull it off. The resulting ball is slightly flattened and sew on a bead. Do the same for the second eye.

Sew the eyes to the head. To make it clearer how to sew eyes, look carefully at the photo. It is better that the eyes are close to each other - this way the muzzle is prettier.

The snake is ready!

First of all, you should decide on the size of the snake. For a body about a meter long, you need a piece of fabric 50x100 cm in size (or two pieces 50x50 cm in size, if you plan to make the belly of a snake from a fabric of a different color). To reduce or increase the size of the body, you need to take a larger or, respectively, smaller piece of fabric, respectively.

The pattern is a double helix drawn by hand. It is advisable to first outline the outline with a thin pencil or chalk (depending on the color of the fabric), and only after the result is considered satisfactory, direct it.

According to the finished contour, the fabric is chipped off with pins, you can also sweep it, and then cut out the body of the snake.

The pattern of the head is done in the same way, the size of the head at the place of its sewing to the neck is made slightly over size torso in the same place, excluding the tuck. The tucks themselves are placed in such a way that in the stitched state the head turns out to be convex, then the soft toy will turn out to be more realistic and cute.

Seam allowances are not made.

The body is stitched with a regular stitch, if necessary, the fabric is overcast along the edge with a zigzag or with an overlock. The sewn torso is turned right side out with a pencil.

Darts are first sutured on the details of the head, after which the upper and lower halves are sewn together.

Eyes are sewn to the head already filled with filler, while the filler is also partially stitched from the inside - thus, the muzzle is formed. Those places where the button eyes are located are, as it were, “drawn” into the head.

The finished head is sewn to the body with a hidden or semi-hidden seam, slightly shirring the fabric of the head and combining the side seams. The finished seam is closed with a tied ribbon or scarf. Alternatively, you can use beads, imitation collars, capes, or something else.
