How to make a hat out of cardboard. How to make a paper hat with your own hands

Despite the fact that the hood has become almost a mandatory attribute of modern urban style, hats, caps and scarves still do not go out of fashion. A flirty hat will complement an elegant autumn coat, a cap will help you feel confident on a sunny summer day, and a hairpin hat can become spectacular decoration to the ballroom or wedding dress. Even a novice needlewoman can make original fabric hats with her own hands. How to do this, you will learn from our article.

What is needed for this?

Making your own hats is fun, but you'll need a few things:

  • sewing machine;
  • a set of needles for a sewing machine;
  • a set of needles for hand sewing;
  • tailor's scissors;
  • tape measure;
  • chalk or soap;
  • wooden ruler;
  • thick paper (preferably graph paper);
  • pieces of fabric;
  • threads of suitable color and quality;
  • interlining;
  • cardboard;
  • glue;
  • decoration materials.

Sewing machine

Any sewing machine will do, even grandmother's manual Singer. The main thing is that you feel confident behind it and can easily perform the simplest operations.

Important! The machine must be debugged and equipped - it is better to immediately buy a set of needles of different thicknesses in order to change them depending on the fabric.

Textile

Any fabric is suitable for the manufacture of hats. The most important thing is to choose a model. For example, it is hardly advisable to make a hat with fields of crepe de chine or gauze, but something soft in oriental style- no problem.

Accordingly, there should be threads of different thicknesses and different qualities at hand so that it is possible to sew both natural and synthetic materials (nylon is better to sew with nylon, silk with silk, etc.)

Let's start simple

The simplest option is an Arabic-style scarf. To make oriental headdresses for women with your own hands, you need soft fabrics that can drape well. Suitable for you:

  • thin silk;
  • crepe de chine;
  • thin knitwear;
  • muslin;

Important! If you are making a headdress for the first time, it is better to refuse knitwear, unless you already have a ready-made knitted scarf with swept edges. To work with this material, you need a special needle.

An oriental-style scarf is a long strip closed into a ring. First you need to make the strip itself. It can be single or double, manufacturing methods will differ.

Option 1

To make a single oriental scarf, you will need a strip 40-50 cm wide and about 1 m 20 cm long:

  1. Finish the seams with an overlock or overcast by hand with a buttonhole.
  2. Stitch the short edges to make a ring.

Important! Make sure the strip is not twisted.

Option 2

If the fabric is very thin, you can make a double scarf:

  1. Cut out a strip of the same length, but 1 m wide.
  2. Fold the panel right side inward, aligning the long sections.
  3. Trim long sections.
  4. Trim the seam allowance 1mm from the seam.
  5. Turn the strip inside out.
  6. Gently iron the seam if the fabric allows it.
  7. Fold the workpiece in half, aligning the short cuts.
  8. Stitch a short seam.
  9. Iron the seam.
  10. Sweep allowances.

Important! Such a scarf is put on the head, then a long loop is thrown over the head, which covers the shoulders and chest.

Turban

A popular oriental cloth headdress is a turban. They sew it directly on the head, so you will most likely need an assistant to work. A wide scarf or scarf made of thin fabric is used as a blank.

The manufacture of such a headdress from fabric is carried out as follows:

  1. Fold the scarf in half, matching the long sides.
  2. Attach it to the head so that the middle falls on the forehead.
  3. Draw both ends to the back of the head, twisting them slightly.
  4. Make a single knot at the back of the head (you can secure it with a couple of basting stitches).
  5. Draw the ends to the forehead towards each other.
  6. Tuck the left end under the right end so that the edge is not visible.
  7. Pin the layers together with a few stitches.
  8. Tuck the right end under the top layer of fabric and pin together.
  9. Remove the turban.
  10. Where there was a basting, lay more reliable seams.
  11. Decorate the turban.

Important! Suitable for decoration:

  • brooch;
  • feathers;
  • rhinestones;
  • sequins.

The brooch can be pinned to one of the knots. If you choose rhinestones or sequins, it is better to finish the places where the seams are laid with them.

Bandana

Another simple do-it-yourself fabric headdress is a bandana. It can be sewn from a dense fabric, cotton is best. Suitable:

  • chintz;
  • satin;
  • coarse calico;

Pattern

First you need to make a pattern. First you need to take measurements:

  • head girth;
  • distance from the middle of the forehead to the crown;
  • distance between temples.

The pattern is best done on graph paper, because there is a grid:

  1. Draw a straight line, the length of which is half the circumference of the head.
  2. Mark the edges - for example, Z (back of the head) and L (forehead).
  3. Draw perpendiculars to both points in the same direction, set aside on them the distance from the middle of the forehead to the top of the head.
  4. Divide the distance between the temples in half.
  5. Set aside the resulting measurement from point L and also draw a perpendicular, marking the resulting point, for example, with the letter M.
  6. Connect points L and M with a smooth line.
  7. Extend the line from point 3 to the same length, put a point, for example, 31.
  8. Connect points M and Z1 with a smooth line.

The pattern of the main part of the bandana is ready, you can move on to the visor:

  1. Draw a line on a graph paper.
  2. Set aside on it a segment equal to half the distance between the temples.
  3. Mark points B (temple) and L (forehead).
  4. Draw a perpendicular to point L.
  5. Set aside 5 cm on the perpendicular and put a point, for example, L1.
  6. Connect points L1 and B with a straight line.

cutting

Fold the fabric right side inward and proceed as follows:

  1. Lay the pattern of the main part so that the fold of the fabric coincides with the fold line of the pattern.
  2. Circle the pattern with chalk or soap without an allowance.
  3. Cut out the piece.

Visor

It is cut in the same way as the main part, only 0.5 cm allowances must be made for all sections. To make the visor more rigid, it can be reinforced with interlining or a lining made of a denser fabric.

Assembly:

  1. Process the cuts of the main part with an overlock or manually ( buttonhole stitch fits best, but the loops should be even and lie close to each other).
  2. Strengthen the details of the visor with adhesive interlining.
  3. Lay them right sides up.
  4. Sweep and stitch along all cuts, except for the one that will be sewn to the main part.
  5. Trim the seam allowances so that no more than 2 mm is left before the seam.
  6. Cut the corners at a 45° angle.
  7. Turn out the visor.
  8. Iron the seams.
  9. Iron loose allowances inwards.
  10. Align the middle of the fold of the visor with the middle of the main part and pin with a tailor's pin.
  11. Attach the visor.

brim hat

For the manufacture of this headdress, more or less dense fabric is suitable - from chintz to velvet or brocade. In addition to it, you will need:

  • hat tape;
  • thin hard cardboard;
  • compass;
  • scissors;
  • universal glue;
  • awl;
  • tape measure.

Important! Cardboard can be replaced with paraplene or penofol.

Taking measurements

To make a brim hat, you will need the following measurements:

  • head girth;
  • margin width;
  • crown height;
  • bottom diameter.

We remove the girth of the head in the usual way - by applying the zero mark of the centimeter tape to the middle of the forehead, we draw it along the most convex parts of the skull - just above the ear, above the back of the head, above the second ear and again to the middle of the forehead.

All other measurements are optional. For example, the width of the fields can be 10 cm, the height of the crown is from 5 to 15 cm, the diameter of the bottom is 5-10 cm.

Important! The easiest way to make a hat with vertical brim - the diameter of the bottom will be exactly the same as the diameter of the hole in the brim. At the blank for the fields, we make allowances from those sides that will join the bottom and fields.

Pattern

To make a pattern, you need to know the radius of the hole. To do this, divide the head circumference by 6.28. Further:

We make blanks

It is necessary to make one detail of the bottom and crown:

  1. Lay the fabric in one layer, right side down.
  2. Circle the patterns.
  3. Cut out the details.

fields

The fields are fitted on both sides, so you need two parts:

  1. Fold the fabric in half right side inward.
  2. Circle the cardboard circle, leaving 1 cm allowances on the outer and inner circles.
  3. Cut out the pieces according to the allowances.

Assembly

We start the assembly by stitching the fields:

  1. Lay the pieces right sides together.
  2. Stitch the outer edge.
  3. If the fabric is stiff, the allowance can be trimmed at a distance of 1 mm from the seam.
  4. Insert cardboard liner.
  5. Iron the hole allowances to one side.

Important! We cover the fields by smearing the allowances on the fabric with glue and pressing them to the allowances on the cardboard. Make sure that the fabric does not gather in folds. We iron the bottom allowance on the wrong side, grease it with glue, insert a cardboard pattern and press it tightly. We are waiting for it all to dry.

Finish assembly

All work must be carried out very carefully, trying to ensure that the glue does not get on the front side of the fabric:

  1. We glue the crown with an overlap - the cut of the fabric in this place should be perfectly even, you can pre-process it with an overlock.
  2. We bend the top allowance of the crown to the wrong side at an angle of 90 °, grease it with glue and attach the bottom.
  3. We bend the lower allowance of the crown outward at the same angle and grease it with glue.
  4. We put the margin allowance between the cardboard blank and the top layer of fabric.
  5. We press firmly.
  6. We close the junction of the crown and fields with a hat ribbon.
  7. We decorate the hat.

Important! You can make a miniature hairpin hat according to the same principle - the technology is the same, but a clip from an old hairpin is still attached to the bottom.

DIY headwear jewelry

Since ancient times, they tried to effectively decorate headdresses - with flowers, precious stones, exquisite overlays made of precious metals. modern woman can also make your hat elegant and unique.

Traditional elements:

  • bows;
  • flowers;
  • feathers;
  • fantasy compositions from different elements.

Bows

The bow can be made from the same hat ribbon that you closed the seam with. It is made very simply - you do not even need to overcast the edges, since the tape has an edge:

  1. Cut a piece of tape 15-20 cm long.
  2. Fold it in half right side out, but do not iron anything.
  3. Bend the free edges to the middle.
  4. Iron the folds.
  5. Sew the cuts.
  6. Sweep the layers along the already made seam and pull off a little.
  7. Cut another piece, 5-8 cm long.
  8. Close them up.
  9. Bend the free edges to the side of the bow where the seam is.
  10. Sew them.
  11. Attach the bow to the hat.

Important! Instead of a bow, other elements can be attached to a hat ribbon - a spectacular buckle or brooch.

Flowers

Perhaps the most favorite women's jewelry for a headdress. They can be made from different materials:

  • fabrics;
  • skin;
  • suede;
  • artificial stones;
  • beads.

Important! To make flowers from fabric, special tools are needed. Buying them is not difficult, but it takes time to get used to them. But plant elements from leather can be made without special equipment.

You will need:

  • pieces of leather of different colors;
  • shoe knife;
  • scissors;
  • awl;
  • cotton threads;
  • skin glue;
  • ball pen;
  • pattern paper;
  • material for the middle - beads, for example.
  • pan.

Preparation:

  1. The skin must first be put in order - cleaned and tinted, if necessary.
  2. It is best to dye with special dyes for this material - you will certainly find them in the nearest good shoe store.
  3. The simplest flower consists of five individual round petals. It is best to cut them according to the template so that they are the same. Draw around the template on the wrong side with a ballpoint pen. The petals are cut out with a shoe or any other short sharp knife.

Important! To make the petals convex, they can be “fried”:

  • Place the pastry on the pan with the wrong side down.
  • Heat slowly until the petals begin to curl inward.
  • As soon as you like the shape, take out the blanks (it is best to use wooden tongs).

Assembly

Petals need to be collected together. It is done like this:

  1. Determine the connection point.
  2. Make one puncture on each petal at a distance of 2-3 mm from the edge.
  3. Sew the blanks with a strong cotton thread.
  4. Close the junction with a bead or a leather circle.
  5. You can insert additional decorations between the petals and the middle - dyed feathers or fur.
  6. To make the flower look more impressive, it can be supplemented with leaves - made of leather of the same or a different color, suede, feathers, etc.

Important! You can only fry in a pan genuine leather, leatherette from this melts.

Scarves

A popular headdress is a scarf. You don’t need to sew it on purpose, you can always buy a ready-made one in the store, and if there is nothing suitable, just cut a square out of the fabric and overcast the edges. Scarves can be tied in a variety of ways.

Matryoshka

The most classic version of all:

  1. Fold the scarf in half.
  2. Put it on your head.
  3. Tie the edges under the chin.

Komsomolskaya Pravda

It was fashionable to tie scarves or scarves in this way in the first half of the last century. The scarf is tied at the back of the head, the corner remains on top or is removed under the knot.

Cossack

To tie a scarf in this way, it must be quite large. Bring the edges back, make a single knot, then draw them over the forehead and tie them with a double knot to make “ears”.

From this article, you have learned a lot of ideas on how to make DIY fabric hats and decorate them. We hope you have seen how simple and interesting it is, and now from time to time you will practice in order to easily and in an original way give your image sophistication and special beauty.

Historically, there were many types of Indian headdresses that were traditionally used by more than 560 of their tribes, groups, nationalities, villages, communities, and so on. Some headgear was purely for beauty, while others, such as the war headgear, had to be made and worn only in special circumstances. If you decide to create an Indian headdress, first study the culture of the people whose headdress you want to reproduce. Note that if you are in America, you should not dress up as an Indian when visiting any costume parties and holidays, as you may inadvertently offend the feelings of the native Indians.

Steps

Feather headband

    You will need scissors, a measuring tape, a ruler, brown construction paper, wax crayons or paints, stationery glue or a hot glue gun, and pens (as many as you like) or other colors of construction paper. If you're making paper pens, you'll need to cut 2.5cm wide cross strips to make nib blanks from a sheet of design paper. You can purchase design paper in a variety of colors and make 1-2 nibs from each color of paper available.

    Cut off a strip of brown construction paper. The strip should be about 4 cm wide. The strip should be long enough to be wrapped around the head with a slight overlap.

    Decorate the prepared strip of paper. Take markers, wax or regular colored pencils, paints and apply color patterns on a paper strip in the style of the Wampanoa, Lenape or Abenaki Indians. Examples of patterns can be found on the Internet or in books about the life of the forest Indian tribes.

    Glue the ends of the strip. Apply a drop of glue to one end of the strip on the front side. Roll the strip into a circle and press the ends together so that they stick together. Let the glue dry.

    • When you fold the strip into a circle, its ends should overlap each other by about 2.5 cm.
    • If ordinary liquid stationery glue doesn't stick well to the design paper, use a glue stick or a hot glue gun.
    • If you have real or fake headband feathers, you can attach them at this stage. Apply a few drops of glue to the inside of the headband and glue the feathers upright. If you have a lot of feathers, distribute them so that they fan out.
  1. Pick up paper for making feathers. If you don't have real or artificial feathers, you can make your own from construction paper. To do this, you need to cut out elongated ovals and cut a fringe along their edges. You can use any color paper and any number of pens. For example, you can make the feathers red, yellow, and orange, or use the same color paper as the pattern on the brown headband.

    Cut out paper ovals for making feathers. Draw a narrow elongated oval on the first sheet of construction paper, it should be at least 15 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. Cut out the oval. Prepare a few more feathers in the same way.

    Fold the ovals lengthwise and cut along the edge of the fringe. Fold one oval in half lengthwise and make a series of cuts along the curved edge. The cuts should not intersect and reach the fold. At the same time, they should cover the entire curved edge from top to bottom.

    • The share fold on the oval paper imitates the presence of a central core. Don't worry about perfect symmetry when making a fold, as even real feathers aren't always perfectly symmetrical.
    • Unfold the pen fold. Repeat the whole process with the other colors of the paper pens from the design paper.
  2. Glue paper feathers to the headband. Glue the paper feathers to the inside of the headband and let the glue dry. Feathers should be turned up and fan out from one point. One central feather can stand strictly straight, but the rest should be tilted.

    Put on a headband. When putting on the headband, position the feathers so that they are slightly behind the ear. Complement this outfit with a study of the history of the Indian tribe whose patterns you used to create the headband.

    Combat headdress made of paper and feathers

    1. Gather the required materials. You will need scissors, a tape measure, a hole puncher, a paper binder, stationery glue, or a hot glue gun. You will also need corrugated cardboard, crepe paper, artificial nibs or paper for making your own nibs.

      Cut off a strip of corrugated cardboard. It should have a width of about 4 cm, and be 5 cm longer than the girth of the head of the person for whom the Indian headdress is intended.

      • Corrugated board, also called fibreboard or boxboard, has an inner corrugated layer that shows the ridges or holes in that layer when cut. At the same time, this cardboard is slightly lighter and thicker than ordinary cardboard.
      • To make a headdress, take corrugated cardboard that is not too thick so that it is easier to wrap a strip of it around your head.
      • Here you will be given instructions on how to make a combat headdress with upright feathers.
    2. Insert the feathers into the holes in the corrugated cardboard. Apply a small amount of glue to each hole in the cardboard strip where the pen will be inserted. Insert sticks of artificial feathers into the holes smeared with glue and let the glue dry.

      • To make the feathers stick better, you can insert them into a flat strip of cardboard, rather than into a vertical one.
      • You can use stationery or hot glue to glue the feathers.
    3. Lay the ends of the cardboard strip on top of each other and fasten. Roll the strip into a ring so that its ends overlap each other by 5 cm. Take a hole punch, make holes at the ends of the strip and fasten them with a binder.

      • Remember to fold over the ends of the binder to secure it.
      • For special reliability, you can pierce paired holes for the folder in two places (top and bottom) and fasten them with two folders.
    4. Decorate the outside of the headdress. You can cover it with fabric, red crepe paper or decorate it with beads. When using crepe paper, you should prepare a strip 5 cm wide and 30 cm longer than the circumference of the headdress itself.

      • Cover the outside of the cardboard ring with crepe paper. At the same time, the paper from the top and bottom edges should protrude beyond the edges of the cardboard by about 5 mm, and you should also have two equal in length (15 cm each) freely hanging ends of the paper strip.
    5. Cut the fringe along the edges of the crepe paper. If you used crepe paper to decorate the headdress, make a fringe on it. Take scissors and make cuts around the entire perimeter of the protruding top and bottom edges of the paper strip.

      • This procedure completes the process of making an Indian war headdress. When you put it on, all the feathers on it will stand straight.
    6. Craft a different kind of combat headgear. The war hats of the Indians were not the same, for more ideas on how to make them, check out appearance various headdresses with descending ribbons with feathers, headdresses of the Sioux tribe and upright headdresses. About a dozen Indian tribes from the Great Plains made war hats, in which each feather reflected the military merit and exploits of the Indians who wore them. Among the best known of these tribes are the Sioux, Crow, Blackfeet, Cheyenne, and Plains Cree.

      • The combat Indian headdress was a sacred symbol reflecting the great merits of its wearer. Not all representatives of the tribe had the right to wear such a headdress. At present, modern American Indians can earn the right to wear such a headdress for active advocacy of the interests of the Indians, as well as for obtaining an advanced degree.
      • That is why in America you can offend the Indians if you just dress up in a battle headdress.

    Beaded headdress

    1. Get everything you need. You will need beads, strong thread for making beads, and a beading needle of the right size. You will also need a bead loom. If you already have a bead loom and a set of materials to work with it, pick up larger beads for yourself, as well as one large, oblong wooden bead to finish your work. If you're starting from scratch, get yourself a few bags of beads in the colors you want to use. All beads should be the same size, however you can use larger beads to complete the ends of your work.

      • Make a bead loom by yourself. You can make your own bead loom by attaching a pair of flat combs to a sturdy box or lid. Take two identical flat combs or break one comb into two parts. Tape the combs with adhesive tape or glue on two parallel sides of the box so that the teeth remain hanging in the air.
      • Purchase special thread for making beads. A slightly elastic thread will allow you to create a more comfortable headdress to wear.
    2. Come up with a beaded headdress design. Similar headgear was worn by many Native American tribes, including the Cheyenne, Sioux, Crow, Soc, Fox, Winnebago, Kickapoo, Cree, and Arapaho. Search online or in books about Indians for traditional beadwork patterns. You can also come up with your own design. Draw the design on checkered paper, coloring the checkers with the appropriate bead colors you will be using.

      Load the bead loom. Tie the thread to the leftmost tooth of the loom (comb), pull it to the other side of the loom and cut, leaving a tail 5-8 cm long protruding. Tie this tail to the leftmost tooth of the loom of this side. Repeat the procedure until you have enough threads to bring your design to life.

    3. Pick up beads on a long thread. Position the design vertically to match the position of the loom and start counting beads from the top row. Count the beads for the first five rows and thread them on the thread in the order in which you counted. The first row is counted from left to right, the second row is counted from right to left, then again from left to right, and so on.

      • It is in this order that you will weave the thread with strung beads with the threads of the weaving warp stretched on the loom (first from left to right, then from right to left, and so on).
    4. Weave your beaded headdress. Attach the needle to one of the ends of the beaded thread and start braiding the warp threads in front and then in the back. Go around the first warp thread in front, the second in the back, then again in front and again in the back. Weave the first row of the pattern in this way at the top of the loom, moving from left to right. This row will end on the right, so you will start the second row from here, and the third will start again on the left. After completing the first five rows, pause to make sure that the pattern is correct.

      • If this is the case, type on the thread the beads of the next five rows of the pattern and continue weaving.
      • If an error occurs, unravel the wrong rows and re-string on the beads in the correct order.
    5. Finish by tying threads. Use a measuring tape to measure the circumference of the head of the person for whom the headgear is intended. Weave the product to the desired length or a couple of centimeters shorter if the ends of the headdress are tied on a large bead. Cut the product off the loom and tie loosely hanging warp threads together so that the weave does not crumble. Then you can tie a large bead to one of the ends of the weave, and make a loop on the bead with longer threads of the other end and also tie it.

      • Trim off excess thread ends.
      • If you don't want to use a large bead to tie the ends of the headpiece, you can simply tie the warp threads into a knot at each end, and tie the threads of both ends together to put on the headdress.
      • If you want the headgear to be the exact size of the head, then tightly tie the ends of the headgear right on the wearer's head.

Almost everyone at least once in his life thought about the question of how to make a paper hat. At the same time, everyone wants to make the paper headdress have an original shape and surprise others. For example, on children's party you may need a cap of cucumber, onion or tomato. And those who at least once made repairs, always tried to build a cap or a triangular hat-boat from a newspaper - the scheme for folding it in Soviet times was known to everyone, from young to old. Or glue a Chinese hat so that lime from the ceiling does not fall on your head.

There are a lot of recommendations on how to make an unusual and cute head accessory. It is impossible not to notice that an origami paper hat as a template can be used for a variety of purposes, from banal repair work to a matinee in kindergarten. For children, it can be easily and very quickly made from just two sheets of A4 paper.

And if it is also decorated thematically, it will turn into a national Buryat hat.

Needless to say, there are many ways to make hats origami with your own hands. Much depends on the individual abilities and imagination of the individual. Having spent a minimum efforts, you can easily make a flower hat or a doctor's headdress. Someone will be interested in a stylish cap, and someone will need to build a pirate hat for a theme party.

A beautiful design is easily constructed from cardboard or paper. cap with a visor, protecting from bright sunlight. An origami cap can rightfully be considered a universal thing. The role binding of this thing will be determined solely by its decoration. Everyone in their own way can paint or paint this simple headdress.

Detailed instructions for making a paper pirate hat:

Origami samurai hat

Required to work sheet square paper. It must be folded into two equal parts, and then into a small square. Then the paper structure must be straightened. Without this procedure, it will be problematic to designate future fold lines.

Regarding the most technological scheme how to make a similar origami hat, then the sheet must be folded in half, and then one strip should be bent outward, making up a tenth of the entire width.

Inside the sheet is folded so that each of its edges is folded in the center. Then, triangles should be bent from the central part to both sides. The resulting design will have certain similarities with the shirt collar. Next, the strip remaining below is bent.

Now it remains to straighten cap origami. Her "wings" will look very original. Such a product can be used in a theatrical production or a carnival evening. Like the banal paper cap, which almost everyone made in childhood, such a headdress will be indispensable during repairs or cleaning.

Homemade paper cap

To make such a hat, you only need an old newspaper.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Place a sheet of newspaper A 3 with the long side in front of you.
  2. Bend the upper corners to the central part and to yourself. It should be a triangle.
  3. The free lower rectangular strip is folded up into two halves twice.
  4. Turn the origami hat inside out.
  5. Wrap inward from the folded strip triangles that protrude beyond the edges.
  6. The right and left edges of the cap fold in towards the middle.
  7. The lower free rectangular strip is folded up in such a way that a docking with curved edges is obtained.
  8. Now you need to form a visor. Slight bends are made on the sides, which need to be tucked under the envelope formed on the cap.
  9. Unfold the hat, turning the bottom side to the face. The top of the cap folds down and goes under the lapel.
  10. Straighten and reveal. You can try on the resulting headdress.

For the summer, the topic is relevant, how to make a hat from a newspaper, sew a panama hat. It is very interesting to watch how to make a hat from newspaper tubes, plastic cups, from wire and even from branches.

How to sew a cap with your own hands?

Such a product is reusable, having created it once, you can use this headdress for several years. In anticipation of the coming summer, this topic is very relevant. But you can sew a cap for the cooler season. Then you will need to take a denser and warmer fabric.

Next master class step by step photos will teach you this interesting activity.

This cap is eight-piece. You must first calculate the size of one wedge, and use it to create the rest. This is a gavroche baseball cap.

As you can see, a pattern is given for one of the wedges, a visor and a band to it. For convenience, these parts are on a ruler so that you have an idea of their dimensions. The arrows show the direction of the lobe. Print these blanks in life size and attach them to the fabric from which you will sew. It is necessary to cut with seam allowances not only from this fabric, but also from the lining. In such a cap it will be possible to walk in spring, autumn or cool summer evenings.

If you do not need a warm cap, then you can sew it from a dense fabric with a thin lining.

If you have soft fabric then make it tighter by attaching an adhesive backing. Then the product will keep its shape well. Attach the adhesive pad with a hot iron. If you are sewing a cap with a lining, then you need to fold these two parts, and then connect them with the same two more. Stitch the wedges together to make half a gavroche cap.

In the same way, create the second half of the headdress. Cut off the corners of the allowances at the top of the cap so that there is no thickening here. Now smooth the seams, iron them.

Here's how to sew an eight-piece cap next. Fold the two parts of the visor with the right sides, after attaching the adhesive fabric here. Sew to the edge and cut off the excess to get a 5mm seam.

Iron the seam and put a sealant inside the visor. You can buy it at a sewing store, they sell special visors for caps. You can also cut this part out of plastic or from a stationery folder. Now you need to cut the band and sew it. Lay this piece as it is in the next photo.

You see that you need to place the seam at the back, and in front, I focus on it, make markings. You also need to find the middle of the visor. Match these details and grind them. Bend the band to fold it in half.

Fix it in this position by sewing by hand with large stitches. This is how the eight-piece is sewn further, the pattern of which is above. Stitch the band up to the top of the headdress.

Insert a button inside and fasten the edges of the fabric from the inside. Do not remove the threads from the needle, but sew this decorative fabric into the center of the headdress.

The lining for the cap must be sewn separately and connected to the main part. Now sew the cap with the lining and band, but leave a small space unstitched through which you will turn the product inside out. Do this and sew up the resulting backstage already on your hands.

It remains to make a decorative button. To do this, cut a circle of fabric 2 times larger than it and collect it on a thread with a needle.

This is how the eight-piece cap is created, which is very fashionable. The main thing is to do everything carefully and slowly.

For true fashionistas, the following master class is suitable.

How to sew a hat - master class

The women's hat pattern will help you make this headdress as accurate as possible.

These drawings already have 1cm seam allowances so you don't need to make them. Sidewalls must be stitched together and ironed seams.

Fold the outer and inner margins right sides over and overstitch the outer edges. Turn the hat blank right side out, turn the edge, and then iron it. Make parallel stitches with a distance of 1 cm from each other.

Now you need to sew up the back cut of the tulle and stitch the cut of the lining, leaving a 7 cm space not sewn up. Through it, you turn the panama inside out.

Next, you need to sew the bottom to the tulle, and sew the bottom lining to the lining of the tulle. Iron the seams, fold all the details with the right sides and put the margins between them, aligning the cuts.

Now you need to turn the headpiece through the hole and hem the folds by hand with a blind seam. It remains to make decorative stitches, and a beautiful hat with fields is ready.

If you need a fashionable lady's hat, then the following master class will help.

Download the pattern.

To get the exact dimensions, it is better to draw it using cells.

Each side of such a cell is 5 cm. Redraw the pattern and cut a blank from the main fabric along it. If the canvas is thin, then it will be necessary to cut the same parts from the adhesive fabric and lining material. Use a hot iron to attach the adhesive dublerin to the wrong side of the main fabric. Now fold this double backed blank so that these materials are in contact with the right sides. Sew to the edge, leaving a small open space at the back through which you will need to turn the hat on the front side. Then you will sew it on a typewriter when you sew the brim of the hat along the edge.

Such a women's hat is put on the head, then you need to thread each strap into the opposite hole and tighten.

To process holes, you need to attach a square of thick fabric to the wrong side and sew on a typewriter, as when you sew buttonholes.

How to make a hat from newspaper tubes?

Even from this material you can create a chic hat for the summer. See how it's done. First you need to prepare the following:

  • newspapers;
  • knitting needle;
  • scissors;
  • clothespins;
  • glue;
  • vessel of suitable shape;
  • cardboard circle;
  • paint;
  • headdress decorations.
First, make tubes out of newspapers. To do this, cut a large newspaper into strips. From each sheet, 4 pieces are obtained.

Now you need to wind each one on a knitting needle. The thinner the needle, the more elegant the final product will be. But it is usually difficult for beginners to immediately use a thin knitting needle, so it is better to practice first.

Attach this tool to the corner of the newspaper tube and start wrapping the paper around the metal.

You will need to glue the remaining corner with PVA glue and start making the second newspaper tube. Now you can move on to weaving.

Lay the newspaper tubes on top of the cardboard circle, arranging four pieces perpendicular to each other in this simple pattern.

Fix the newspaper tubes by attaching them to the cardboard base with clothespins. Now start weaving the hat. To do this, you need to insert one tube between the main ones, fix it in the same way and braid it in a circle.

When the working tube is almost over, then insert the thin end into its thick end. Thus, you will attach other tubes.

Having made a small round bottom, separate the newspaper tubes in different directions so that they begin to resemble the rays of the sun.

Take a semi-circular bowl as a shape and attach it as it is done in the photo. Braid this blank to make a round hat.

Now you need to remove the bowl and re-attach the ends of the newspaper tubes to the cardboard blank.

To make the hat further, weave the brim of this product.

When they are the right size, it is necessary to cut off the excess length of the tubes and glue the cut tubes to the base on the reverse side. The hat can be decorated with varnish. Once dry, tie a satin bow here. You can also make flowers from ribbons and glue them on the hat as a decoration. This is how a hat is made from newspaper tubes with your own hands.

And if you need to quickly make a headdress, then you can use the same material.

Now you need to bend the top corners and bring the corners to the corners. In this case, the parties will also lie on each other. The resulting side must be tucked up twice.

Turn the future cap over and bend the strips towards you on one side and the other. The bottom edge must be turned towards you, unfolded and folded the corners of this part according to the basting.
