Do-it-yourself sheep (lamb) from an egg

As you know, the husband of a sheep is a ram. So why not try to make a representative of the strong half of the flock of sheep?

Necessary materials:

  • egg;
  • glue;
  • plasticine;
  • cotton wool

Manufacturing:

The first step is to prepare the basis for future crafts. Wash the egg and make two holes in it with a needle. One hole at the bottom of the egg, and the other at the top (see photo).

Let the contents of the egg drain out. Now rinse the egg again and after a while, after the egg dries, you can start creating.

Coat half of the egg (its wider part) with glue and glue a bunch of cotton wool. Do not press hard with your fingers so that the fur is fluffy and voluminous.

Fashion two thin sausages from dark-colored plasticine and twist each of them (see photo) - these will be lamb horns. If you decide to make a sheep, then fashion two ears instead of horns, because sheep do not have horns.

And now he is a charming lamb ready. If you want to hang such a lamb on a Christmas tree, then attach a loop to it or tie it around the calf with a thin satin ribbon.

Do-it-yourself lamb from ear sticks

Such a cute sheep, made from ordinary ear cleaning sticks, can become not only a souvenir or a gift, but also become an excellent decoration for the New Year's table. To do this, attach a nameplate to the craft, and your guests will know where their place is for festive table.

From the pieces, attach a forelock on the head of a lamb, and make ears from two pieces of cotton swabs. Glue the head to the body of the lamb.

Be sure to draw the eyes, nose and mouth of the sheep with a felt-tip pen or pen, and also tie a cute bow on the top of her head.

Attach two clothespins and here it is, a charming and cute sheep, ready and at the same time very stable.

Do-it-yourself sheep from an egg (kinder surprise) and cotton swabs

In those families where there are small children, there are sure to be more than a dozen plastic eggs from Kinder Surprise. Right now their finest hour has come.

Necessary materials:

  • plastic egg (kinder surprise);
  • cotton buds;
  • glue;
  • awl;
  • candle;
  • threads;
  • cotton wool

Manufacturing:

If you want your craft to become christmas toy, then be sure to first attach a loop to the plastic egg.

Now, while heating the awl over the candle, carefully make holes in the plastic egg in the place where the legs should be. Cut off the fluffy parts from the cotton buds and thread the plastic tube forward into the holes made from the inside of the egg. As a result, you should get like this - outside there are 4 legs made of plastic tubes, and inside the egg there are 4 fluffy parts. Before you thread cotton buds into the holes, be sure to soak them in glue.

Now close the plastic egg and start decorating the sheep's body. Make holes with a heated awl and thread cotton buds into them with the fluffy parts outward.

The muzzle of a sheep must be made on a basis consisting of three cotton buds. Wrap a cotton ball around the sticks and moisten with glue, give the desired shape. After everything dries, decorate the muzzle.

A beautiful New Year's hand-made lamb, created by oneself, will a wonderful gift or as an addition to a gift for a loved one.

A beautiful hand-made New Year's sheep will be a wonderful gift or addition to a gift for a loved one.

Do you make New Year's crafts with your own hands with the symbol of the New Year? Each year in the Chinese calendar has its own symbol in the form of an animal. So the next 2015 will be the year of the blue sheep (in another version of the goat). The question may arise: what is the relationship between handmade and symbols of the new year. And the answer is simple. There is a belief that if you donate to New Year a souvenir with an image or in the form of an animal - a symbol of the coming year, then for the whole year, this souvenir will become a kind of talisman that brings good luck and success to its owner. So, if you make such a souvenir with your own hands, and not just buy it in a store, then it will have even more positive energy, due to the part of the soul of the master who created it invested in it. That is why, we advise you to familiarize yourself with our master class of New Year's crafts, sheep - the symbol of 2015. We propose to perform it in mixed media, which will allow you to once again practice your previously acquired skills and knowledge related to various types needlework. Since the technique is mixed, then materials with tools for New Year's crafts will need a variety of:

  • The clay dries quickly in the air. It is also sometimes called hardening modeling paste. It is advisable to purchase one that white color, but if you find a different color, then it’s also not scary, since the hardened product can always be painted later acrylic paints in the right color.
  • Acrylic paints (gouache can also be used, but after drying it can still be smeared, unlike acrylic). Actually, the whole gamut of colors is not required, you only need pink (can be replaced with red) and white.
  • Yarn. Since next year is the year of the blue sheep, better color yarn to choose the appropriate range. In our example, the sectional dyeing thread and it contains both white (natural for sheep) and blue-blue (for the sake of the symbol). The quality and thickness of the thread does not matter.
  • Felt. Blue and white, a little bit of each, you can use leftovers from past handicraft projects.
  • Eyes for toys.
  • Cardboard. It is needed to make a pom-pom. It is not necessary to take it new and good, you can use some unnecessary carton packaging, because after the pompom is ready, the cardboard blank will become unusable.
  • Cord.
  • A ribbon or ribbon is decorative if you plan to make a hanging toy.
  • Sewing threads in the tone of felt.
  • There are two types of glue: “Moment. Crystal" and "hot" silicone glue.
  • Scissors.
  • Needle.
  • Tassel.

New Year's craft the lamb is not done very quickly, since clay is used in the work. Despite the fact that it is considered quick-drying, the hardening rate still depends on the size of the product, the larger the object molded from it, the longer it dries. That is why we recommend starting work on a sheep from the stage of clay modeling. So that while work continues on other parts of the craft, the head (it is she who is molded from clay) has time to dry. Blinding a head for a lamb is easy. First form a ball from a small piece of clay, and then give it the shape of an elongated sheep's muzzle. Make the eye sockets into which the eyes will be glued. If you didn’t find decorative eyes, then you can also make them from clay by rolling two small balls for this and attaching them to the eye sockets. Then, when the workpiece dries, you just paint them, draw a pupil. In addition to the eye sockets on the muzzle of the sheep, push through several grooves to indicate the nose and mouth of the sheep (see photo).
Do not forget to blind the dangling ears of the lamb. Glue them to the head, for this, lightly moisten the parts with water. To get rid of the cracks that have arisen in the clay, also moisten your hands with water and smooth the entire surface of the craft. Get this head. Now it can be put to dry.
We continue the master class on New Year's crafts with our own hands. While the blank of the sheep's head hardens, you can proceed to the manufacture of its body. To do this, you will need to make a pompom, which imitates a shaggy sheepskin in the best possible way. We have repeatedly published articles on our website on how to make a pompom with your own hands. But as they say, “Repetition is the mother of learning,” so we will once again show the stages of its manufacture. First, cut out two identical circles from cardboard. The size of the pom-pom itself will depend on their size, so be guided by the size of the molded head of the sheep so that the pom-pom - the future body of the lamb, looks more or less proportional. To not be too small or too large relative to the head.
Cut inside each circle central part, the smaller this hole, the less fluffy pom-pom you will get, subject to full winding. And vice versa, if the hole is large and then completely filled with yarn, then you get a very lush pompom.
Fold both cardboard blanks with each other, equalizing them at the same time. Wrap with yarn so that the inner hole is almost completely hidden.

Slightly spreading the cardboard, insert scissors between these parts and cut the yarn, exactly in the center.
Put a piece of the same thread in the middle and tie it tightly, wrapping it around several times before.
The cardboard can be removed and the pompom is in front of you. Only until its shape is correct - correct it with scissors.
Since this craft is not planned to become an exact copy of a real sheep, we propose to make the sheep not only legs, but also “handles”, dressing them in winter - in felt boots and mittens. Cut these pieces out of blue felt. Their shape and size are arbitrary. Double each pair.
Cut the cord into four parts of the segment: two longer and two shorter. Tie a knot on one side of each piece.
On the tip of the cord, which is without a knot, sew on both sides the details of the boots (for long pieces) and mittens (for short ones), as shown in the photo.
From white felt, cut out strips large enough to glue over felt boots and mittens. You will get an imitation of a fur edge.
We continue the master class on creating New Year's crafts. Now is the time to check if the lamb's head blank has hardened. If yes, then you can proceed with our step-by-step instructions. If not, then you will have to wait for this moment and then continue. So, if the clay was white, then you can safely leave everything as it is, if the color was not suitable, then paint it with paints. Then paint a little pink on the nose, lips and inside of the sheep's ears. We did not have pink paint in stock, so we had to mix white and red to the desired shade.
Using Moment glue, glue the sheep's eyes. For this purpose, this glue is suitable.
But the head itself should be glued to the body (pompom) with “hot” glue, since the “Moment” will not cope here. To do this, heat up a special glue gun well and apply softened hot glue to the pompom, slightly pushing the protruding threads apart.
If you are planning, then this New Year's sheep hang somewhere, then cut off a ribbon of a suitable length for you and glue this ribbon first, and then the lamb's head on top. In the same way, glue the legs and “handles” of the lamb, and the knots will help in that the gluing area increases due to them and over time the lace will not come off.
Our master class on creating New Year's crafts with our own hands has come to its logical conclusion. The sheep is ready. You can give it to someone as a souvenir, or you can keep it for yourself and it will become a good talisman for 2015.
