Men's wallet and purse. Where to carry a passport (in summer) What to wear for a man

Don't pay attention to the pretentious title of the post. I’m not talking about myself - this was the name of one of the heated topics on the Polish forum about male elegance :)

So - look at the well-dressed gentleman:

Everything is very good. Just a small question - where is his phone, keys and most importantly his WALLET?

With modern fairly well-fitted fashion, something like this simply has no right to exist

If you try to put such a cutlet in a jacket (or God forbid - trousers) and add a smartphone, you will look like a clown with pockets full of potatoes :(

On the other hand, some solve this in a surprisingly disgusting way - all these inventions like men's handbags... Brrr
This is generally a complete akhtung and collective farm. If you see a man with a handbag in his hands somewhere in Warsaw, it is a guarantee that he is either a Belarusian or a Ragul Seluk. In general, he is a collective farmer from the east.
Simply no! No handbags or belt purses.

What to do? After all, as one said clever man- an adult man should be relaxed and calm in any situation - including having everything with him necessary documents and a fairly substantial amount of money. So as not to fuss and run around looking for an ATM if you suddenly need to solve a money issue.

The most obvious solution is a money clip and a complete refusal of coins.

In Poland, there is even such a semi-anecdote floating around - they say, how to distinguish a “Pan with class” from a “sloik” who has come in large numbers?
Sloikami or in Russian “banks” - calls the hillbillies who came to the capital - they say, every profitable one they rattle cans in bags with food that they bring from their village from their mother.

A real man doesn't use coins! At all. He pays by card - and if you already need to pay in cash - he takes only banknotes from the change. Leaving coins as a tip.

Maybe this is some kind of solution - to carry only banknotes. Especially in Russia. But even in Poland it is somewhat expensive. I'm not talking about us and the euro. A couple of 2 euro coins is too much for a tip in a small shop without a bank terminal.

And the question of all sorts of documents remains. If another credit card can be carried in the same banknote clip - then documents for a car, license or other Required documents you can't drag it like that.
For example, your humble servant posted the approximate volume of documents/cards that he posts every day:

What kind of money clip is this?

There is a way out - for example, they revived old idea things that in Polish are called "Bilonówka".

Unfortunately, I don’t know how it will be in Russian, but I think the idea is clear.

As for banknotes and documents, there is such a thing:

Licenses, cards and weapons permits fit in there perfectly. Not counting banknotes, of course.

This wallet is as thick as a passport in a cover. In the inner pocket of the jacket it will not be visible at all.

What is interesting - besides the pasha scarves self made- just such sets (a case for coins and such a thin wallet) are also made by hand from very good leather. Allowed many people to write on the Polish Internet about men's clothing, retrograde and other manly things - open and promote a business. Just for example online store one of the Polish bloggers who simply wrote about the fashion of pre-war Poland..

How do you carry banknotes and documents?

Imagine, you are a respectable man whose business is going very well. You often meet people and, wanting to get a business card, you often take out your wallet, but what does your interlocutor see at that moment? A thick and careless wallet that is about to burst at the seams? A nylon sports wallet that should have been replaced when you were 17 or 18 years old? If so, you might want to reconsider your relationship with your wallet and take into account some of the tips I'll give in this article.

Besides the frivolous appearance of your wallet, it will obviously be difficult to find anything in it. As a rule, it contains so many things “just in case” that sometimes even finding the right credit card at the time of payment takes 2-3 minutes.

A men's wallet must meet two basic requirements:

  1. Functionality.
  2. Presentability.

For complete understanding, I propose to consider these requirements in detail.

Functionality of a men's wallet

Of course, it is advisable to have 2-3 different wallets for different occasions in life. But I would recommend that you at least buy a bi-fold wallet in black leather that will suit all styles.

A life filled with events dictates the need for accessories - assistants that organize objects in a certain order - all kinds of bags. By the will of fate, I am not only in the office but also on constant business trips. And I had to fill my wardrobe with all kinds of leather bags that accompany me everywhere. These are a leather travel bag, a leather briefcase, a leather folder cover and a leather camera bag.
Men became the pioneers in the field of bag making; it was they who took possession of the patent for the invention and wearing of such a convenient item.

16th century engraving

Men were the first to invent and convince themselves of the practicality of a small bag (the prototype of a modern bag), which was usually worn on the belt; often the so-called bag was attached to the belt.

At first, this kind of accessory was used exclusively for carrying money, but the development of public consciousness led to the fact that bags began to be made much more bigger size, after which a lot of things were placed in them, so bags began to be used for storing and moving fairly large items. For convenience in everyday life, bags were made in such a way that they could be thrown over the horse's croup, hung on the shoulder or placed behind the back.

The connection between the first bags and representatives of the male half of humanity is also confirmed by historical chronicles. For example, a wallet with a flap, which in many ways resembled small handbags of modern designers, was called “Kalita” in Russian; Russian Tsar Ivan I never parted with it, who received the nickname Kalita, which accompanied him throughout his reign. Under the name Kalita, the Russian ruler was known to nobles, peasants, foreign rulers and ambassadors.

At a time when men were already wearing purses, women hid the most necessary things for them in stockings or behind a corsage, so such an attribute as a bag can be safely called masculine.

By the way, one should not stereotypically think that modern men have abandoned this kind of accessories, not at all, they simply choose more convenient classic models for themselves, for example, you can often meet a modern man with a briefcase, a “messenger bag”, a man purse, a briefcase or another variety of the modern range of bags.
So what kind of bags do men carry?

Men's fashion this moment It is not developing at the same pace as women's, however, here too there are basic classical trends, which over time have been transformed into the emergence of clothing standards for representatives of the stronger half of humanity. It is clear that a classic suit is the ideal clothing option, but it is worth talking a little about men's accessories. The first thing that comes to mind when you mention this word is men's ties, watches and bags. Yes, yes, do not be surprised that this attribute is quite valuable for fashionable man, which follows the latest trends from Paris, Milan, London or New York.

For a long time it was believed that a bag was an exclusively women's accessory, but since the middle of the last century, the victorious march of men's bags around the world began. A big role in its popularization was played by fashionable men's glossy magazines and films from Hollywood, which showed us a young middle-aged man with his own business and high social status. And the bag only helps to create the image of a man independent of the opinions of his surroundings, who knows what style is. It is worth knowing that there are several main types of men's bags.

For example, men's briefcases are true classics that will never go out of style. And if in Soviet times they were a box with a handle, then modern masters have made a work of art out of them.

There are also large tote bags, which are a bag made of canvas material. With such a bag you can go shopping, and some models are also designed for business meetings. You can buy such men's bags in any online store.

There are regular messenger bags that are made of good textiles and have excellent designs, making them the pinnacle of style. And if you prefer leather, then this material can also be used for production. Small messenger bags have another name - “tablet”.

There are also purses - small handbags for carrying in the hand, which are very similar to women's clutches. If you often have to go on business trips, then the best option Large capacity travel bags are for you.
Man's bags. What to wear them with?

The fact is that the bag has long become an indispensable thing in men's wardrobe, it’s been a long time since anyone needs to be convinced. If earlier this necessary and stylish accessory was the obligatory prerogative of women, now the stronger half of humanity has learned the real pleasure of owning the “right” bag. There is only one question left to decide - which bag to choose in order to look adequate in different life situations. There can be only one answer: classics in a variety of manifestations. Here are six classic handbag styles you're sure to find to suit your style.

1. Briefcase: timeless classic

Perhaps the briefcase can be called the most classic bag of those that men have always treated favorably. But the fact is that a modern briefcase, to put it mildly, differs from those rectangular, rigid models that our parents used, although not every man is aware of this. No sharp corners, no box-like shapes. However, this is the main and only change. The basic principles of choosing a briefcase have been relevant for decades: genuine leather, comfortable clasp and functionality due to the thoughtful arrangement of internal compartments and pockets. Thanks to these qualities, the portfolio remains a timeless category.

What to wear: business suit.

2. Messenger bag: urban sophistication

It’s unlikely that anyone will wonder why people call this convenient men’s bag a postman’s bag: everything is clear at first glance. Yes, this indispensable attribute of a delivery man of newspapers and good news has smoothly migrated into the category of fashionable and stylish men's accessories. In most cases, such a bag is made of thick fabric (tarpaulin, canvas) and is equipped with a wide strap that goes over the shoulder. Students are most often seen carrying a fabric messenger bag, but more luxurious options are made from genuine leather suitable for more discerning adherents of the smart-casual style.

What to wear with: casual only.

3. Travel bag: take it all

Every man who at least occasionally goes on business trips or goes out of town on weekends needs a travel bag. Bulky suitcases have long given way to small, stylish, but very roomy and functional travel bags that resemble briefcases. Main characteristics: genuine leather and interesting finishing.

What to wear with: goes well with both casual and business suits.

4. Case bag

This bag resembles both a messenger bag and a camera case at the same time: small, rectangular shape, with a shoulder strap. Convenient for any occasion when you need to take with you the minimum necessary things. The bag-case is suitable, first of all, for men who are far from business style.

What to wear: Loungewear.

5. Tote: size matters

A tote, or large “shopping” bag, has a completely different purpose in a man’s wardrobe. If it is convenient to go shopping with a more democratic version of such a bag, then with a men's tote bag it is convenient to go to the office and to business meetings. Such a bag should be made of genuine leather in chocolate or black color, have massive handles and minimal trim. Only if these rules are followed will this model fit perfectly into a business wardrobe.

What to wear with: business casual clothing.

6. Messenger Bag: Democratic Party

Courier bag - Native sister postman bags. However, unlike the latter, this model never grew, remaining in a democratic and functional style. Such bags are made only from fabric and are ideal for students for whom a traditional backpack is a thing of the past.

What to wear with: casual casual, sporty chic.

7. Something businesslike

Nowadays, a men's bag is an indispensable attribute of a successful business and mobile man. People who are constantly moving upward need a high-quality and durable bag, because... they spend a lot of time traveling, solve many problems every day and engage in various types activities. In a man's bag you can carry documents, important papers, as well as other accessories and at the same time it will look very presentable. Elite and business models of men's bags have many compartments, for example for a credit card, mobile phone, business cards and much more.

Rich berry shades of cranberries, lingonberries, pomegranates, cherries, sweet cherries and wine are relevant not only in autumn, but also in winter. They add elegance and maturity to the image, but are not suitable for everyone. In this article you will learn what to wear and combine with a burgundy dress and how to choose your berry shade.

Everyday dress

A wine-colored dress for every day looks luxurious, but at the same time discreet. It fits perfectly into everyday work, but you can create many sexy looks with it if you use the details skillfully.

A burgundy knitted dress goes perfectly with black tights and boots. They can be either leather or suede, the main thing is that they are black. For an everyday look, you can choose black transparent or translucent tights - they will make your legs slimmer and visually elongate your silhouette. For a bright and provocative look, you can use light-colored tights, but avoid tan shades. In combination with high suede boots and over the knee boots, this look will look sexy and catchy, as well as with black tights with a large pattern. A short knitted dress burgundy shade can be worn with different tights and boots in black, creating both modest and provocative looks.

Evening Dress

An evening dress in wine tones is an excellent choice for those who want to hide overweight. If the fabric is not shiny, then a dress of this color will hide everything unnecessary and elongate the silhouette. In this season Evening Dress wine color can be either long or short. And the fabrics used are both satin and non-shiny at all. This dress will go well with silver and white gold, white and black pearls, and beads made of opaque black stones. Large pendants will also go well with it. Jewelry will give you both a vintage and modern look. For example, trendy leather drop earrings will give you a gothic look. And large vintage jewelry will add a retro touch to the look.

Shoes and accessories

For a casual fall look, you can use black suede boots or over the knee boots. Leather ankle boots will look stylish if your legs are not full. For the evening, you can use light tights in combination with black or silver shoes. You can choose a clutch of the same color.

Any burgundy dress can be combined with fur clutches and handbags. Leather Products will also come in handy. For the evening, you can use a clutch trimmed with white pearls or completely covered with rhinestones. This accessory will add a retro touch to your look.

How to choose your color

The classic burgundy color with purple or chocolate undertones is most suitable for girls with cool skin tones and dark hair without redness. This color suits cool blondes, brunettes and those with chocolate-colored hair.

The lingonberry tone with the addition of a hint of cinnamon suits tanned women better. It suits blondes and dark brown-haired women with red hair.

Desaturated shades of cherry suit fair-skinned girls with brown hair. And those with warm skin and hair tones can experiment with the color of Sicilian orange.

Carrying documents on your own body is common. But that doesn’t make it any less responsible.
Below I present my own thoughts on this issue, in relation to summer season. We will not consider carrying documents in briefcases/shoulder bags/purses or simply in hands.

1. What do we wear in the summer?
a) Cold summer - trousers and jackets are popular. Jackets usually have internal pockets where documents can be carried. Military jackets usually have more pockets, but in denim jackets you can find two huge and deep pockets formed by sewn side...pockets.
b) Normal summer. Shirt with short sleeve and trousers. The breast pocket of a shirt is usually extremely unreliable: its contents can fall out when bending over; it is also easily accessible to all sorts of unkind people. Trousers, if they are regular trousers, are also not very suitable for carrying documents. Some trouser manufacturers sew in some kind of “secret pockets for money”, but getting to them is inconvenient: well, you wouldn’t take off your pants on the street to treat yourself to a glass of beer. Although there are still some rare ones with wallets and passports sticking out of their back pockets (Preved, thieves!). Jeans are also not very suitable for carrying a passport in the front pocket, although it is better than in the back. Hiking trousers (as well as shorts) and military trousers usually have patch pockets on the front or a whole set of pockets, some of which are fastened with a zipper or Velcro. There are also narrow long pockets (like a scabbard), but they are more suitable for neatly folded large bills.
Sports pants. Zippered pockets are better than just pants, but IMHO not optimal.
c) Hot summer/beach. Minimum clothing. Minimum pockets. Shorts with shoulder pockets are the best option.

What to wear.
a) Purse. Everything fits. But you can forget/lose. And you shouldn’t forget about the special category of “purse owners” either... True, this is more for motorists.
b) Wallet on a string. He is also a “xivnik”. Eat different models from handmade (see the hippies on the street) to nylon and cordura at Maxpedition. The advantages are always on you, you can hide them under a shirt or T-shirt. Disadvantages - it is not always convenient (or accepted) to wear it everywhere, it rubs your neck.
c) Pouch. My favorite option. A leather pouch goes with regular trousers. Closes with a latch. Nylon pouch - again, I’ll draw your attention to the “Maxpedition” products: very high quality sewn, durable. I myself am currently carrying a pouch that holds my passport, a fairly thick wallet, and two phones. So my recommendation is a belt + pouch or fanny pack.
d) A belt bag is usually larger than a pouch, the advantages are the same. Disadvantages - costs of the dress code.
e) small shoulder bag - maybe from different materials, but IMHO this is already a transition to “large wearable forms”.
