The scheme of mittens on 4 knitting needles is beautiful. Mittens for children - we knit beautifully by hand for a gift to loved ones

1. To begin with, we will make a set of loops on four knitting needles. To do this, we collect 40 loops on two knitting needles (40 loops should be obtained taking into account the first, double loop). Then we evenly distribute the cast on 40 loops on 4 knitting needles. We get 10 loops on each knitting needle. We fold four knitting needles in a square, loops up. In this case, the extreme tail of the thread (which remains from the set of loops) meets with the working thread.

2. We begin to knit mittens with the fifth knitting needle in the direction from the cuff to the fingers. We knit the first row with facial loops, and with subsequent rows we will form an elastic cuff. So, we knit the first 4 loops of the first row in such a way as to capture both the working thread and the tail of the thread with the fifth knitting needle. Thus, the end of the thread will imperceptibly be fixed, and we will only have to cut it off. Next, we knit a whole row with facial loops.

3. We knit the next rows with an elastic band 2 by 2: the first 2 loops will be purl, then 2 loops will be facial, then again 2 purl, 2 facial and so on. We continue to knit an elastic band in a circle, focusing on the “2 by 2” pattern.

4. We knit an elastic band until the cuff reaches a length of 3 cm. After the cuff, we switch to another type of knitting - this will be the front surface. We knit not 2 by 2, but solid facial loops. We add two loops to each knitting needle so that the hand is free in our mitten. To add loops before knitting, we make two crochets on each knitting needle.

5. We knit further facial loops in a circle, measuring the mitten from time to time. If we have already knitted to the place where the thumb begins, we proceed to knitting the finger. We have 12 stitches on each needle. Select the needle that will form the finger. We knit the first loop of this knitting needle in the usual facial way, and remove the next 10 loops on safety pin. Fasten the pin.

6. Then we collect 10 yarn overs on the same knitting needle and knit the last, 12th loop of the knitting needle in the front way. A hole for the thumb is formed in our mitten.

7. Next, we knit facial loops in a circle until the length of the mittens reaches the tip of the little finger (be sure to measure the product!). We turn to knitting a triangle of the mitten, which will be at the fingertips. We start knitting a triangle from the knitting needle, which is located in front of the knitting needle from which we removed the loops for the finger. We knit the first two loops together with a crossed front loop. This loop knits very simply: right needle we stick inside the loop in the direction from right to left. Having passed the knitting needle through the back wall of the loop, we cling to the working thread and form a loop out of it. This is the crossed front loop. So, after two loops knitted together, we knit all the remaining loops of the knitting needles with ordinary knitting needles. We knit the next knitting needle as follows: all the loops are with the usual front ones, and we knit the last two loops together with the usual front one. The third needle is knitted in the same way as the first, and the fourth - in the same way as the second. Thus, we constantly reduce the number of loops and form the triangular tip of the mitten.

8. When there is one loop left on each needle, we will cut the working thread (leave about 10 cm) and crochet it through all these loops. We put the knitting needles aside and see that we have got a mitten (so far, instead of a finger, there is a hole).

9. The finger of the mitten is knitted very simply. With one knitting needle, we collect 10 loops from a pin. We catch 10 more loops on the second knitting needle (just hook on 10 loops located above the hole for the finger). Between these two knitting needles (upper and lower), around the hole we catch 2 more loops from the canvas on the sides. Next, evenly distribute the resulting 24 loops on 4 knitting needles.

10. We knit ordinary facial loops in a circle with the fifth knitting needle - in the same way as we knitted the entire mitten.

11. We measure the mitten. If it is already time to close the finger, we do it in exactly the same triangle as the tip of the mitten. It remains only to pull the ends of the threads to the wrong side, fasten them and cut them off.

12. In the same way we knit the second mitten. Knitting mittens for beginners are ready!

Video instruction for knitting mittens:

Here come the cold and frosty days. It's time to knit warm gloves and mittens. And if you have never knitted mittens, then you can easily learn from this clear instruction: How to knit mittens with knitting needles for beginners - all the nuances of knitting are explained step by step with a photo. From building a pattern and calculating a set of loops, knitting a cuff and the main part of a mitten with a wedge for the thumb and without a wedge. And also how to tie a finger on mittens and beautifully close the loops at its end.

According to this description, you can knit any mittens, as simpler, front stitch, plain or striped or melange yarn. Or using patterns, such as braids or openwork inserts. The main thing is to learn the very principle of construction and the sequence of work.

So, let's begin!

Building a mitten pattern

The first thing we need to do before we start knitting mittens is to build her pattern. To do this, we draw a hand on a sheet of paper and mark four main lines on the resulting outline: the transition line from the cuff to the main part of the mitten, the beginning of the thumb and the end of the little finger, as well as the length of the thumb.

Loop calculation

The next step is knitting a control sample in order to calculate the number of loops and select the appropriate number of knitting needles. Read about how to properly knit a control sample and calculate the density of knitting.

Determine the density of knitting from the sample and calculate how many loops you will need. Multiply the brush circumference value by your knitting density. Reduce the resulting value to the number that can be divided by four without a trace (since the mitten is knitted on four knitting needles).

Example: your knitting density is 2.5 loops in 1 cm, and the circumference of the brush is 19 cm. This value is obtained by measuring the brush over thumb. We multiply 20 by 2.5 and get 50. Since 50 is not divisible by 4 without a remainder, we reduce this number to 48 (48:4=12). So on each knitting needle we will have 12 loops.

How to knit mittens with knitting needles for beginners step by step

We start knitting with a cuff. It can be done in ribbing, or in some pattern, such as braids, openwork stripes, or patterns of several colors, such as jacquard or with slipped loops. But since we are just learning to knit mittens, we will make the cuff in the most common way - with an elastic band.

A set of loops on stocking knitting needles for knitting cuffs

In order for the edge of the cuff not to squeeze the arm and be durable, the set must be performed as freely as possible. For this, several different techniques are used: a set of loops on double knitting needles (as in the photo), a set on knitting needles bigger size or a set of double thread.

So, put 2 knitting needles together and dial the required number of loops on them (in our case 48). Carefully remove one needle and knit the first row tightly with an elastic band. In this case, the loops are evenly distributed over 4 knitting needles (12 loops for each in our example). What is the best way to do this? Knit the first part of the loops with the first knitting needle, the next part with the second, the next one with the third and the remaining one with the fourth. Thus, all loops are evenly distributed on 4 knitting needles, and the fifth remaining free is the working one.

At this stage, it is convenient to attach the marker to the beginning of the loops of the first needle, so that in the future you do not have to look for the beginning of the circular row.

The photo shows several more ways to set loops for mittens on knitting needles with a description. Choose which one is more convenient for you!

How to knit a cuff for a mitten with knitting needles

After the loops are cast on, evenly distributed on 4 knitting needles and closed in a circle, knitting is performed in a circle. Since this is a description of knitting mittens for beginners, I recommend knitting the cuff with an elastic band 1 x 1 for 6 - 9 cm, and after that, the next 6 cm should be done with front stitch to the line of the base of the thumb. And one more thing, the work must be done on the outside of circular knitting, sometimes beginners knit mittens with four knitting needles in the inner circle, but this is more difficult and inconvenient.

How to knit a hole for the thumb of a mitten

The width of the hole is determined in the following way: it is equal to the number of loops on one knitting needle minus four loops. In our case, this is 12 minus 4 = 8 loops.

There are 2 main options - with or without knitting a finger wedge. But both of them are based on the fact that the required number of loops is transferred to an auxiliary knitting needle or pin, in addition, instead of them, loops are typed for a jumper between the finger and the main part and are included in the work. The main part of the palm is knitted on these loops, and the thumb is knitted on the left loops and jumper loops.

 • First option

How to close loops for mittens with knitting needles

The loops decrease along two lines - along the edges of the palm, giving a triangular shape to the end of the mittens. Decrease every other row until 8 stitches remain. They are connected with a knitted seam.

How to knit a thumb on a mitten with knitting needles

The thumb of the mitten should also be knitted on 4 knitting needles, after its main part has been completed. Take new thread, lower its end into the hole and knit in a circle with the front stitch to the middle of the nail. Then decrease the loops and close them in the same way as the top of the mitten.

That's why step by step description how to knit mittens for beginners, you can knit mittens of any size, for children, women and men. The main thing is to correctly take measurements and calculate the number of loops. For beginners, it is better to start by knitting mittens with front stitch, without patterns. And to make them interesting - take melange or sectional yarn and monochromatic in tone colors. And knit a single-colored cuff, and multi-colored - the main part. And having learned, you will be able to knit more complex models, for example mittens with or relief patterns. Smooth loops and beautiful accessories for you!

It will get colder outside soon and it is necessary to insulate the little hands of your kids. And that no matter how warm, related mother's hands, will keep warmer in cold weather. They have so much warmth, comfort and love. No store-bought mittens compare to mittens self made. Knitting children's mittens on 5 knitting needles is quite simple and fast, we need very little material, which is why they will cost you much cheaper than purchased ones. So, let's get started ... we will knit mittens for a 2-3 year old baby.

We need:

 • yarn YarnArt Jeans 1 skein
 • knitting needles number 3
 • tapestry needle for stitching knitwear

Children's mittens on 5 knitting needles, for beginners:

We collect forty loops on the knitting needles, after which we distribute them equally among four knitting needles, i.e. ten stitches on each needle.

Next, we will knit an elastic band for mittens according to the 2 x 2 principle, i.e. we knit alternately first two facial loops, then two purl loops. We knit mittens in a circle.
We knit fourteen rows with an elastic band.

Next, we go to facial knitting, we will knit all rows with facial loops. We knit nine rows with facial loops.

At this stage, we will leave room for the future finger, for this we knit the first six loops on a separate knitting needle, after which I remove the loops on a pin so that they do not interfere with us in further work. We will return to them later.

Next, we knit the four remaining loops, after which the loops on the next three knitting needles. Now we get six loops on the knitting needle, plus we knit four loops with facial ones.

We knit the next 14 rows without changes in facial ones.

Now we need to complete knitting, for which on the first knitting needle at the end we reduce two loops by knitting them with one knitting needle. Then on the second needle we decrease two loops at the beginning, on the third needle - two loops at the end and on the fourth needle at the beginning we also decrease two loops.

We decrease according to this principle until one loop remains on the knitting needles.

We cut the thread, thread it into a tapestry needle and thread it through the remaining loops, tighten it tightly, hide the thread inside the mittens. We get such a palm.

It remains to tie a finger. We return to our postponed six loops. We collect six more loops from the opposite side on the second knitting needle.

We knit ten rows in a circle.

We remove the loops from the knitting needles, cut the thread and thread it into a tapestry needle, thread it through all the loops, tighten it, fasten the thread, bring it to the wrong side of the finger and cut it off.

Children's mitten knitted on 5 knitting needles, ready.

We knit the second mitten in the same way as the first. Hope given master The class will be useful for beginner craftswomen.

With the onset of cold weather, mittens are an indispensable thing in everyone's wardrobe. It is very important to protect your hands from the cold, otherwise you can dry out the skin, which will lead to cracks and wounds.

How to knit mittens with knitting needles for beginners step by step

For knitting we need: wool - 100 g, sp. x 4. We start knitting from the cuff (the initial part of the product). The circumference of the cuff is measured according to the circumference of the hand.

We knit with an elastic band 2 x 2, so that the number of loops cast on is a multiple of four. We collect loops for 2 sp., Then we distribute in an equal amount to the rest. Knitting takes place in a circle. Pay attention to the fact that we make front loops (l.p.) for the front walls, purl (ip) - for the back.

We make a cuff with a height of 5 - 6 cm, then go to the main pattern. We knit the main pattern with a height of 5-6 cm too and create a hole for the thumb.
Suppose we have 12 loops on each knitting needle (sp.).

We make a hole for the thumb on the third sp. according to the scheme:
1. We knit the 1st p., remove the next p. on a pin or marker;
2. To another sp. we throw on air loops as much as we took off on a pin;

Popular articles:

We knit further in a circle. We knit the product to the end of the scheme. After we have knitted the main part of the mittens, we begin to knit the thumb.

We drag the loops removed on the pin to cn. The number of loops for the thumb should be a multiple of 3. We knit the loops in a circle, starting to decrease the loops from the thumbnail. When we have 6 loops left, we stretch the woolen thread through the loops and tighten.

Knitted mittens for men with an ornament

In order to tie winter men's mittens with the “Deer” ornament for beginners, we need: yarn - 150 g, knitting needles.

Basic patterns:

- gum 1 x 1 = 1 l.p. x 1 i.p.
- front surface: l.p.

Knitting density: 16 p. x 18 p. = 10 x 10 cm.

Progress:

Left mitten with an ornament for beginner needlewomen:
Cast on 36 sts on sp. and distribute to 4 sp. We knit an elastic band 1 x 1 about 10 cm in a circle. We change the row between the first and fourth sp .. Next, we make faces. stitch - 2 p.

We knit a pattern with an ornament according to the scheme:

1. on the 1st and 2nd sp. we make 2 p. rapport A x 9 p.;

2. on the 3rd and 4th sp. we knit 18 points of rapport C;

3. We repeat in rapport 1 the first and second p., in rapports B and C we do from 1 to 24 p.;

4. Starting from the 2nd row of faces. Smooth we perform additions for the wedge of the thumb:
A. on the 2nd sp. knit loops according to the picture. When there are no 4 sts left until the end of the row, then add 1 st;

b. We knit 2 sts according to the pattern, then add 1 st again and so on according to the pattern. We include all added loops in our general drawing;

We do repetitions in every 2nd p. x 5 times. After we have completed all the additions, we make 1 row. In the next r. over the loops we collect new 2 p., and continue to knit in a circle up to 16 cm.

To form the top, at the beginning of the 1st and 3-1 knitting needles we knit 1 p., According to the scheme + 2 l.p. together. At the end of the 2nd and 4th knitting needles, we knit 2 l.p. together with a broach (remove 1 p. as l.p., then knit 1 l.p. and stretch it through the removed one), 1 l.p. We repeat these decreases in each row until we have 9 stitches left.

Take scissors and cut the thread. We pull the thread through the loops and tighten.

When we reach the fingernail, we begin to decrease the loops. To do this, we knit 2 l.p. together until 4 sts remain. We take scissors and cut the thread. We pull the thread through the loops and tighten.

Right mitten: knits similarly to the left, according to symmetry.

How to knit mitts for beginners

Mittens-mitts - fashionable winter accessory to the winter image of a young needlewoman. After reading the article, you can independently knit mitts for beginners.

For knitting mittens we need: threads - 100 g, knitting needles x 5.

In order for the mittens to sit well on the hand, we will slightly reduce the number of loops. So, we knit 44 stitches, then after 5 cm we reduce their number to 40.

We collect the loops, and start knitting with an elastic band 1 x 1 about 5 cm (1 l.p. x 1 i.p.) Evenly distribute the loops into 4 sp., so 11 p. on each.

After we have finished knitting the elastic band, we reduce the number of stitches by knitting 2 lp together and move on to the main pattern.

The first 2 knitting needles are the front part of the mitts, the rest are the lower ones. We only knit the lower part of the lp, and we make the front part according to the “double rice” pattern.

We make 1 sp., we knit 2 l.p. together for the "wedge". The main pattern is very similar to the 1 x 1 ribbing, but with an offset along the rows. We knit 2 p. according to the figure, the next ones change direction - above l.p. we knit i.p. and vice versa. Thus, we alternate rows, changing direction. After 4 rows, we knit a “wedge”, starting from 2 p. of the first sp. We make increases, we knit 1 p., we make a crochet (n.), Then 2 p. + N.

We work according to the drawing. In the next r. nakida we knit l.p. We reach the base of the thumb. We knit 1 p. Of the first knitting needle, then remove 9 p. On a pin, and make 4 air loops. Next, we knit yarn over l.p. In the next row we knit these loops 2 together.

Toward the end, we again turn to knitting gum, then close the loops.

We turn to knitting the thumb. We add to 9 p. 7 more (= 16 p.). We distribute 4 points for each sp. and knit l.p. - 6 p., then an elastic band.

We knit several rows with an elastic band and close the loops.

The left mitten is ready!

We knit the right mitt symmetrically in a similar pattern.

How to knit mittens with knitting needles for beginners on 4 knitting needles

Knitting warm mittens is a hot topic in the cold season. In order to knit them for beginner needlewomen, we need: wool - 160 gr., 4 knitting needles.

Knitting density: 1.7 p. x 1 cm

Before you start knitting simple mittens, measure the girth of the brush. We got 20 cm. Mittens are knitted in 4 sp. around.

We calculate the number of loops: 20 cm x 1.7 = 34 p. Next, divide them into 4 sp .: 34: 4 = 8.5 Round up to 9 p., Thus, we collect 36 p. For each joint. 9 p.

Progress:

We knit the first mitten. Mentally divide 4 sp. into 2 parts - lower and upper. Thus, the first 2 sp. - the lower part, the rest - the upper.

We start knitting the cuff with an elastic band 1 x 1. We alternate the colors of our mittens every 3 rows, so we knit up to 5 - 7 cm.

Next, we make the main part of the mitten in a circle, to the base of the thumb (approximately 5 cm).

We will make a hole for the finger on the 1st sp. for the right mitten, and on the 2nd for the left. We knit 1 p. For 1 sp., Knit the rest, and return to the 1st sp. So we should get a hole. Next, knit in a circle to the end of knitting (8 cm).

We make a toe. To do this, we decrease the item in the rows. On the 1st and 3rd sp. at the beginning we do 2 l.p. together, and on the 2nd and 4th we knit 2 l.p. at the end. We knit until there are 2 stitches left, close them.

We return to the knitting of the thumb. We should get 7 loops on one joint, 6 on the other. Next, we work according to the scheme, decreasing the loops at the end. Close the remaining 1 loop.

We make the left mitten symmetrical to the right.

Warm mittens are ready!

A good way to become the owner of unique mittens is to knit them yourself. It is more convenient to crochet a circular thing of a small format, but there are many ways to get by with knitting needles - five or two. Beginners should study different techniques in theory and choose the one that is easiest to understand and implement in practice. simple mittens knitting is easy, but they are unlikely to become original if they are not additionally decorated with embroidery or appliqué, including voluminous. Even if you are uncertain about knitting needles, you can achieve an interesting result if you put maximum imagination into your mittens.

How to start knitting mittens

To knit a product, it must first be well represented. Not abstract mittens, but those that you would like to wear or give to a relative or friend. You need to decide on the color of the mittens, their thickness (on very coldy, for a light winter, for a demi-season period), purpose (for sports, for going out, for everyday wear). Women's and men's mittens can be decorated with a pattern, but in the first version it can be delicate or pretentious, and in the second it can be more strict and concise.

Children's mittens should be made from safe materials, but at the same time very durable. Little naughty people subject their mittens to constant stress: either they make a snowman, or they ride down a hill, sliding on the ice or running their palms along the wooden side. And as the children grow up, skiing and skating, building snow fortresses, etc. will become their usual hobbies. This is an even greater burden on mittens. That is why it is recommended not only to tie them, but also to provide the inner side, falling on the palm, with waterproof and slightly abraded material.

Yarn selection

Very thick threads, as well as knitting needles for small accessories, are not suitable. The smaller the texture, the more interesting the drawings can turn out on mittens. It is most convenient to knit with knitting needles from 3 mm and thinner. Yarn should not exceed the thickness of the diameter of the knitting needles.

For frosts, it is good to knit down mittens, but it is better to add synthetic thread to yarn from pure down for durability. You can also use mohair with the addition of synthetics. Colored acrylic yarn is great for demi-season mittens. It is good to make mitts from it - mittens without fingers. Such an accessory is indispensable for those who have to spend a lot of time behind the wheel.

Choosing a scheme and pattern

Everything here depends entirely on your imagination. Someone prefers jacquard patterns, traditional for factory mittens. Someone prefers to knit plain mittens with knitting needles, and then decorate them with crocheted details. Someone likes embroidery on the finished product. But even for such a small thing, you can also choose a textured ornament, which is immediately made with knitting needles. Experienced craftswomen can make “bumps” and “arana” on mittens. Openwork patterns make sense only for mitts or two-layer mittens.

Beginning knitters should choose the simplest ornament or stocking knitting in order to master the techniques for creating mittens with knitting needles. You can decorate mittens later - with embroidery, beads, beads, sequins. If there is a desire to do everything at once, then you should choose a thread with lurex for mittens.

Knitting mittens - instructions for beginners

Simplified, the mitten consists of two “chambers”: the smaller one is for the thumb, the larger one is for the palm. People inexperienced in knitting should study in detail how to tie the transition from one “camera” to another so that the mitten turns out to be solid. When it is performed on two knitting needles, one beginning is obtained - an elastic band - and two ends: one - on the finger, the second - on the main part. We will return to the elastic later, and now we will analyze how the main part of the mitten is knitted with five knitting needles. To beautifully move from the elastic band to this part, you can in the middle of each four spokes add one loop. In order not to form a hole, an additional loop should be made not at the expense of the yarn, but knitted from the broach between the loops. Next, the mitten is knitted in a circle to the place where you need to go to the thumb.

Here you should knit a thread of a different color without fastening, as it will then have to be taken out. From the first knitting needle we knit one loop with the main thread, then we replace it with a thread of an alternative shade, and we knit all the loops from the knitting needle to the last one. Then we remove the loops of a different color one by one from the working knitting needle and string on the 1st knitting needle. We knit these loops again with the main thread, then we knit the loop that remained last on the first knitting needle, and continue to knit on the remaining three knitting needles. The backlog for the thumb is ready.

We continue knitting mittens with knitting needles to the end of the little finger. In some people, the little finger is much shorter than the rest of the fingers. Then you can knit a few more rows - up to the holes of the nails on the ring or index finger (depending on which one is located lower on the raised palm). From this place, you can proceed to the gradual closing of the loops - the formation of a toe.

Reductions are made at the beginning of the 1st and 3rd needles, as well as at the end of the 2nd and 4th needles. On the 1st and 3rd needles, the first loop is removed behind the front wall, the second loop is knitted with the front and pulled through the first. On the 2nd and 4th knitting needles, the penultimate loop is knitted with the front one, returned to the non-working knitting needle. With a working knitting needle, we stretch this loop into the last loop that remains unknitted. So we close until the moment when a pair of loops remains on the knitting needles. They can be stretched one after another through each other, and stretch the cut thread into the last loop and tighten. Hide the thread in knitting.

How to tie a thumb

It's time to return to the colored thread - a touch for the thumb. It must be carefully pulled out, and the loops on both sides should be caught on two knitting needles. For a pair of loops, you need to dial holes from the side walls with the two remaining knitting needles. Distribute the loops on four knitting needles evenly and tie the thumb in a circle. You can close it with the same “wedge” as the main part of the mittens.

How to knit an elastic band

It is easy to knit a beautiful elastic band for mittens with knitting needles. It is necessary to dial the required number of loops on two knitting needles, a multiple of four. Next, the loops are distributed equally on four knitting needles. The needle where the tail of the thread ended up is called the first; rows are counted from it. We start knitting an elastic band 1 x 1. As soon as we reach the second row, we knit how the loops “look”. We knit the front loops behind the front wall, and the wrong ones - behind the back. Then we will have the same beautiful gum, as when knitting in rotary rows. In order for the elastic band to wrap around the wrist well, it must have a sufficient height - 4–5 cm.

Mittens on 2 needles

With two knitting needles, you can knit a mitten with a seam. It is knitted in the form of a sweep, and then its parts are connected. Knitting begins with taking measurements. Next, the required number of loops for the elastic is dialed, a multiple of 2, plus two edge loops. The elastic band is knitted according to the scheme 1 x 1 of the desired height (4-5 cm). We pass to the main part of the mittens. If it is necessary to make an extension, then we evenly add loops, knitting them with a knitting needle from a broach between two loops of the previous row.

When we reach the beginning of the thumb, we knit a couple of loops, then we remove the number of loops necessary for the finger on additional knitting needles (a pair of knitting needles with a flexible connection) of the same diameter. You can calculate the number of loops as half the circumference of the thumb plus a small margin to make it easier to put on and take off the mitten. Next, we knit only these loops with additional knitting needles to the end of the thumb. We check the size and continue to knit further so that the resulting strip freely bends around the thumb in length.

Now we return to the main knitting needles and put on the loops from the end of the strip to the working knitting needle. We knit to the end of the row, turn the knitting and continue to knit all the loops, including the "finger" ones and those that remained knitted before the formation of the finger. We reach the end of the mittens and divide the loops in half. Again we will use additional knitting needles, where we will remove half of the loops. The rest of the knit with decreases on both sides. When a third of the total number of loops remains on the knitting needles, they can simply be closed. We take additional knitting needles and knit the same on them. We sew the side parts of the thumb on the wrong side, and then the entire mitten. We use a knitted stitch.

How to finish a mitten

Knitted mittens often end with a wedge, but not everyone likes this pointed edge. You can slightly round the mittens, giving them a more feminine silhouette. The faster the loops decrease, the more obtuse the angle is at the end of the mitten. If we work with five knitting needles, then on each of the four knitting needles of the "well" we need to perform two decreases - in the middle and at the end, knitting two loops together with the front one. So you need to reduce the number of loops row by row until 4 or 8 loops remain. They can be combined by knitting into each other or pulled together with a thread. The toe will turn out flat and neat.

We knit mitts with knitting needles - diagrams with a description

It’s even easier to knit the mitts with knitting needles: you don’t need any reduction at the end of the mittens, or the wisdom of doing the thumb. Sometimes the mitts contain a wedge into which the thumb comes out, sometimes it is just a hole. The most closed version of the accessory has a thumb tube topped with an elastic band. A similar elastic band is made along the edge of the wide part of the product. The simplest version of openwork open mittens can be associated with a finger hole.

Peculiarity openwork mitts in that they are well blown, it will not be too hot in them, moreover, such an accessory is perfect for a cardigan knitted with a similar pattern. The ornament should be placed on the outside of the palm, the inside can be knitted with a smooth fabric from the front loops or also made openwork. First, you should knit the sample with the same knitting needles that are taken for work, measure it and calculate how many loops you need to dial in a circle for the palmar part. To do this, the girth of the palm is preliminarily measured.

You need to start knitting with an elastic band. Its size depends on the girth of the wrist. You can also tie a separate elastic band and measure how many loops fit in the wrist circumference. When knitting with five knitting needles, do not forget that you need to make sure that instead of an elastic band you do not get “millet”. If we see the front loop, then we must also tie a similar one over it.

Having knitted 4–5 cm with an elastic band, we move on to the main ornament of an open mitten. If this part needs an extension, then we add a loop, knitting it from the jumper between the loops of the previous row. If you need to reduce the loops, then just at an equal distance from each other, you should knit two loops with one loop. Bye openwork pattern performed in a circle, odd rows knit according to the pattern, even rows knit. But as soon as we come to the hole for the thumb, we have to switch to turning rows, although knitting continues with five knitting needles. And then even rows must be knitted exclusively with purl loops. As soon as the edges of the hole need to be closed, you will have to go back to circular knitting therefore, even rows must be done with facial loops. You can finish knitting with an elastic band 1-2 cm long, then close the loops.

Making tight mittens with a pattern is somewhat easier than knitting mittens with knitting needles. The wedge for the thumb may be difficult. If we have an ornament on the outside of the mitts, then on the inside and the wedge, a smooth stocking knit should be made. The beginning of the wedge is located not far from the gum - after a couple of rows. The basis for the wedge is the second loop on the first knitting needle. To make it symmetrical, you need to double crochet on both sides of this loop or knit it from the jumper along a new loop. The second option is preferable, because this way there will be no holes in knitting. Increases must be made through the row. Then try on the product: did it reach the base of the thumb. We knit a couple more rows and remove the loops of the wedge on an additional knitting needle or pin. We close the remaining loops in a circle and knit to the base of the remaining fingers. We close the loops and transfer the knitting needles to the wedge. From the side loops of the hole we collect half as many loops as we have left on the pin. Next, we knit with knitting needles in a circle a small elastic band and close the loops.

For the little ones, it’s also easy to knit mittens with knitting needles. The product turns out to be so miniature that the very minimum of time will be spent on it. But you can give free rein to your imagination by designing mittens for cartoon or fairy-tale characters. You can also invent a lot of all kinds of jewelry. There is no difficulty in knitting small things, you just need to take a tool with a smaller diameter if you want to make an ornament on mittens.

What patterns to choose to knit mittens for a girl? Delicate, floral, airy. The main thing is not to forget that mittens are needed for warmth, and that the child should be comfortable in them. There are several options for decorating knitted mittens. It is easy to knit mittens with an owl. The night bird will have to make eyes out of two small beads. For babies, it is worth making mittens with knitting needles without knitting the thumb separately. It is better for kids when the whole pen is in one “receptacle”, because it is warmer for all fingers. It is good to make such mittens with ears and embroider the muzzle of a kitten. This item of children's wardrobe is often called "scratches", but not because it is able to scratch, but because a child in such mittens cannot accidentally scratch his face.

You can knit mittens with knitting needles equipped with a thumb for older children. To the delight of the baby, on the inside of the mittens, make an image of cat pads. They can be knitted immediately with knitting needles or crocheted separately and sewn on as an appliqué.

Knitted mittens - with hares, chanterelles, bears and bullfinches - are equally good for boys and girls. Only the color scheme will differ.

For a child, you can knit mittens with knitting needles in the same way as for an adult. How to make an elastic band and the transition to the thumb, we have already studied. It remains to understand how to make, armed exclusively with knitting needles, an interesting pattern. To begin with, we will audit the remaining yarn and evaluate what shades are available. We select an interesting picture in the right color scheme. For example, the remnants of blue, red, black and brown yarn will allow you to make a bullfinch on a branch. If there are several shades of green and brown, you can make mittens with a tree.

Well, if there is a picture, pre-broken into squares for knitting. But if this is a cross stitch pattern, then it will have to be slightly converted. knitting the canvas is stretched in width. The drawing will also come out. Therefore, you need to knit a test sample of garter stitch 10 x 10 loops with the selected yarn and the knitting needles that you intend to work with. Next, we measure how many centimeters it turned out in our sample in length and width, draw up a proportion and again divide the drawing into squares with correction.

Pattern "Cat" knitting needles

You need to start knitting mittens with knitting needles from the main tone, making an elastic band with them. Next, we move on to garter stitch and introduce threads of other colors. It is advisable not to cut them off each time and tie them with a thread of the main or another color, but to lay them at work. So that the threads do not interfere in the future, they should be hidden in knitting or sewn from the inside in place of the non-woven pattern. So the child's fingers will not get tangled in the stretched threads.

Knitting mittens - beautiful knitting

No less interesting is the textured knitting on the mittens. If you have learned to wield knitting needles and a knitted pin well, then it will be easy for you to make “braids”, “ropes”, “tulips” and other ornaments with overlapping loops - “arana”. How to do this, it is better to watch the video than to explain in text format.

An interesting idea is to knit mittens with knitting needles for lovers. At the stage of a romantic relationship, it is so nice to walk down the street holding the hand of a loved one. But when both hands are in mittens, it is difficult to feel each other's warmth. Therefore, the set for lovers contains only three mittens: two regular and one double, with two cuffs and a common chamber for two hands. It looks like a bent sleeve. If you start knitting it from elastic bands, you will have to use two sets of knitting needles, knit an elastic band on each of them and a couple more centimeters with the main pattern.

Then you have to redistribute the loops and knit with only five knitting needles a common “well” to the desired height. Do the reductions at the top in the same way as for an ordinary mitten. When knitting a double mitten with knitting needles, you do not need to make a separate cover for the thumbs. Let them all be inside, because it's more convenient to hold hands.

Are you able to master knitting mittens with knitting needles? Get down to the men's mittens. Husband or father will need them when driving a car. And when repairing a car in cool weather, this is generally an indispensable thing. These mittens give complete freedom of movement, do not affect the sensitivity of the fingers, but still warm.

It is also worth arming yourself with knitting needles and tying separate caps on your fingers for such mittens. The caps must cover the length of the mitts so that they can be fastened. Outside, they can be fixed on a button, but on the inside of the palm, such a clasp will become an obstacle. It is better to use Velcro here, because it is flat.

Another reason to knit transforming mittens with knitting needles is the constant need to use a touchscreen phone or tablet. Gadgets are sensitive to the heat of the hands, besides, sometimes you have to expand or narrow the image, but this cannot be done in a mitten.

It is easy to knit men's mittens with knitting needles: no complex patterns are needed here, you can get by with a modest garter stitch.
