Felt wallet with your own hands. Felt wallet - we sew with complication: from a simple model to a complex one How to make a beautiful felt wallet for a girl

Today's master class will be devoted to making a capacious and functional wallet of classic shape from felt.
I'll show you how you can sew such a wallet, spending a minimum of time and getting the most pleasure :)
Let's begin:)
We will need:
gray or any other color hard felt, not very thick - 1-1.2 mm;
beautiful fabric, leather, suede or any material of your choice for a decorative insert;
lightning 15-16 cm;
metal fastener of any convenient design;
seals (see detailed description of the work);
threads, needles, scissors and other ordinary sewing accessories;
iron;
sewing machine;
pattern printer.
When all the materials are prepared, you need to print the pattern.
I tried to prepare it in the most convenient form for use - I placed it on A4 sheets, which can be printed at a scale of 1: 1 and used immediately.
Attention! To get pattern sheets in big size- right-click on each of the 4 images below and select "Open in a new tab" - then the pictures will open in large size. Each of them must be saved to your computer and sent to print.

On the last sheet there is a square with sides of 1 cm by 1 cm - it is given so that after printing you can check the scale with a ruler (that is, the square should ideally be 1 cm by 1 cm on the printed sheet).
The author's pattern is provided for personal non-commercial use, when copying on other resources, I sincerely ask you to remember this and indicate the source :)
I recommend printing immediately on thick paper - at least 200 g / m2, so then it will be much more convenient to transfer its contours to the material.

Cut out all the details along the solid lines. The dotted lines indicate the lines of seams and markings. It is desirable to transfer them to the material when cutting.

Let's start cutting. Let's prepare the right materials- now it is felt, fabric and seals.

All felt parts can be cut without additional, in addition to the indicated, seam allowances, except for the main ones - the inner and outer walls, I recommend leaving an allowance of about 1 cm on them for the final even cut.
In two copies we cut the sides and details for the inner pocket with a zipper, all the rest - in one copy.

We cut a piece of fabric along the inner perimeter of the felt frame for the outside, with an allowance of 1 cm.
We cut the seal for the fabric insert in the same way, only without the allowance.
For the fabric insert, I used a soft seal, always on an adhesive basis. In sewing materials stores, especially for patchwork, you can find a wide variety of seals, especially a wide range of imported ones - I always advise you not to save on this, because, in many ways, it is the seal that often determines and sets the quality and appearance of the product. First of all, of course, this applies to bags and wallets.
We glue the sealant onto the fabric insert using an iron:

Now we combine the fabric insert with the felt frame and sweep the details.

Now you can stitch the perimeter.

Now it's the turn of the second seal. This is a special seal for bags, as it is called, made in Germany. It is quite expensive, today a little more than 1300 rubles. linear meter (width 90 cm), adhesive, dense, rather thin, but very hard. To the touch from the upper non-adhesive side it looks like dense skin.
We cut out this seal a couple of millimeters less than the felt frame - just so that later it does not stick out of the seam.

We glue with an iron. The following photo clearly shows the ratio of the dimensions of the part of the seal and the markings on the felt.

Now let's start decorating the inside of the wallet. Let's start with pockets. First of all, we will lay decorative stitches along the upper sides (everywhere where there are semicircular cutouts) of all pocket details, as well as sides.

We combine the details of the pockets in accordance with the scheme on the pattern.

And we sequentially attach them to each other, forming two solid blocks with pockets.

We try on the blocks to the main part of the inside of the wallet. We focus on the markup, it will help to do it smoothly.

Attaching.

The inside is ready, let's take care of the zippered pocket.

We combine the lightning first with one of the two parts and tack.

Then, without cutting the threads, on the other hand we put the second part, also combining it with the lightning and basting in the second circle through two parts at once.

The details are evenly aligned and fixed, you can sew. This is how it looks from the outside:

And like this - from the inside:

We cut the ends of the zipper, if they stick out, singe the edges with a lighter so that they do not fray. We sew together two parts of the pockets around the perimeter and cut the inside along the seam.

Now it remains to fold the pocket in half and lay one more line:

This is how the pocket turned out:

Now let's connect it to the sides.

To do this, you should first take them:

And then sew a line on a sewing machine:

The main part of the work has already been done, it remains to connect all the blocks of parts and install the locks:

We put, according to the markup, the lower part of the castle:

Attached to the back like this:

We’ll put the top one a little later, while you can just try it on:

We combine the inner and outer sides of the wallet:

Now we pay special attention to the markings on the seam line - we sew along the perimeter, without closing it in the places indicated by the marks! The photo shows where you need to leave the edges open:

Now we take a zippered pocket with side inserts and attach it between the marks, completing the missing lines:

We bend the wallet and add the remaining two lines to the sidewalls, it is first advisable to bast them so that the line comes out even.

That's all ready, it remains only to cut off the excess felt along the seams - we try to cut evenly using sharp scissors.

It remains to put the top of the castle:

Wallet is ready!

All pleasant felt creativity!

The thing made with my own hands always inspires the most pleasant and warm feelings. And when it is made with love, it seems that there is nothing more to dream about ... except to always have it with you.

On the other hand, you can ask the question: what thing, constantly at hand, gives a person the most pleasure. The answer is becoming more and more clear, however, we need to firmly tie the ends of both assumptions with one more clue: this thing is a combination of pleasant and useful.

There is still a little uncertainty, but the following statement will finally dispel all misunderstandings: this thing fits perfectly in your pocket and is simply indispensable for any fashionista.

Now there can be no doubt that this is a wallet. A beautiful, original wallet that meets all the whims of its owner, made with your own hands. But how to do it without first reading the instructions.

How to make a wallet with your own hands

There are a lot of options for this accessory, and even more such ideas “sit” in the heads of future authors. Therefore, the instructions will provide basic information about the material and decorations and a short master class on making a wallet on your own - one of the fairly simple and beautiful models.

Material

Thinking about what you can make a wallet with your own hands, first of all, of course, they pay attention to a leather wallet - and not in vain. This model is expensive, looks serious and lasts a very long time. Working with leather is not as difficult as it seems at first glance.

In addition to the advantages already mentioned - quality, strength and appearance- this material is perfect for the manufacture of women's and male model. The most important thing is to choose quality material. thick or thin skin- it is important that it be tough, then the wallet will last for many years.

But even such an insignificant obstacle as the search for material is easily solved - just look into the most secluded places and find the oldest or most unnecessary leather goods in this way - and you can safely get to work.

Next comes the ordinary fabric - but here there are many options. The most common of them, as well as the easiest to work with, malleable and pleasant to the touch material is felt, or one of its varieties is felt. A felt wallet can be made in almost any shape without any special skills. It will be especially pleasant to hold in hands in the winter.

Felt - one of the varieties of felt - thinner and soft fabric. It can be used to make the most original ideas purse, besides felt is ideal for beginner craftswomen.

In a separate group, you can put a fabric with a print - that is, an already applied pattern. Such a product, of course, looks more beautiful, but its manufacture will require more patience and skill, as well as additional material for interior decoration.

After the option with an ordinary fabric, you can consider denim. The principle of working with it is completely identical to the previous version - it is simple, does not require special tools or skills.

Denim fabric, unlike ordinary fabric, is more dense and wear-resistant, but in elegance it is perhaps inferior to felt. From it you can make a simple and good handbag with a zipper or a drawstring for small things.

Now there remain two of the most exciting, most beautiful and at the same time the most difficult options. The first one is a knitted wallet. Making such a wallet with your own hands is made according to special sewing patterns.

The second one is made of beads. To do this, you need to be able to weave well. But with due patience, diligence and perseverance, knitted wallets, or, in particular, woven from beads, turn out to be the most beautiful.

Decoration

In this matter, there certainly can not be advisers. The only thing that is relevant is to list various options jewelry. These can be rhinestones, beads, embroidery, appliqués, beautiful buttons, ribbons, zippers and pockets, and special, decorated material, and how to arrange it is up to the author to decide.

After all of the above, you can safely proceed to the main part.

Master class: How to make a wallet with your own hands

Required material and tools:

  • riveting
  • Hole punch for rivets
  • Scissors
  • Paper

Sequencing:

A template is made from a sheet of paper. It looks as simple as possible and is a cross with a thickened, vertical part. Vertical height and width horizontal lines of such a template should be equal so that when they are added, an even rectangle without protruding parts is obtained. According to the template, a similar blank of the future leather wallet is cut out.

The resulting product is already a future wallet. It remains only to fasten the four extreme corners with rivets so as to capture all layers of the skin, make a couple of rivets along the edges of the inner pockets - their more accurate location will not be difficult to determine on the finished model - glue or stitch all the contours and optionally decorate the finished product to taste. The wallet is ready. You can start filling it out.

To decide which model is most suitable, you can see photos of homemade wallets and choose from ready-made options. And no matter what riches this wallet holds in itself, it will always be full of those very warm feelings that the owner put into it - and most importantly, its author.

IN this master class we will introduce you to the process of making a stylish and compact felt wallet with your own hands. Despite its small size, it is very functional - it has compartments for everything you need - for banknotes, for coins and for plastic cards, and sewing it is not difficult at all!

Materials and tools for making a felt wallet:

  • hard felt three different colors 1-2 mm thick
  • lightning
  • magnetic button
  • standard set of sewing accessories - scissors, thread, chalk or marker, pins
  • sewing machine

How to sew a felt wallet with your own hands

We cut out the details of the specified size from hard felt. On the upper right and lower left parts, stepping back from the edges by 0.5 cm, we draw a line with a marker or chalk on three sides, rounding the corners. We will sew along these lines, and cut off the rest, thus obtaining a perfectly even edge.

We take a part with a slot and a zipper, we prepare a couple of pins.

We put the zipper under the part, align and fix it with pins.

Carefully, making sure that nothing has shifted, attach the zipper, remove the pins.

We fix the ends of the threads on the reverse side and cut the protruding tails of the zipper.

Now we take the next large part and try on all four pockets for cards exactly in the middle.

We attach one of the pockets, only along the bottom edge.

In the same way, we attach the second and third pockets, shifting them by 0.3-0.5 cm relative to each other. The line, as before, is placed only along the bottom edge. We attach the last pocket already with a U-shaped seam, capturing the sides of all underlying parts into it.

Now we take a rectangular piece with a side of 9 cm and attach a pocket to it.

It remains to make only the valve. We put the upper part of the magnetic button on the strap.

Fold the strap in half and stitch.

We cut exactly to the edge of the semicircular end of the rectangular one and attach it to the main part of the valve.

Now all that's left is to put it all together. We fold the details with a zipper, with pockets for cards and the last one with a front pocket.

We sew along the line marked with the marker, not paying attention to the slight displacement of the layers relative to each other, this is inevitable, but not scary.

With scissors or a knife, retreating from the seam a couple of millimeters, cut off the excess. The edge is even.

It remains only to sew the valve to the upper edge, while closing the pocket for small things with a zipper with this seam.
