For knitting, it is better to first master more simple models, because not everyone will get a large pattern. Large viscous mittens are very cozy and warm, so they are suitable for the most severe frosts.

They will successfully complement the winter look, and it will be comfortable and pleasant to wear them, because the products are soft to the touch. In addition to them, you can purchase or make accessories () made in the same style, or make them an independent main focus. Woolen knitted mittens are made from bulky yarn different colors. At the same time, original knitted mittens in combination with gloves look very impressive and perfectly complement any look. They can have different lengths:

  • shortened, which can be combined with almost any outerwear;
  • as long as possible, which will fit fur coats that have a sleeve length of three quarters or very short.

Master class: mittens with embroidery "Roses"

For work, we need the following materials and tools:

  • mittens;
  • wool for embroidery;
  • 2 long needles with a large eye;
  • 2 pieces of leather or to / substitute the size of a mitten.

Go.

Step 1. Drawing

I do not know what kind of mittens you will have in your hands before embroidery. It all depends on how the mittens are knitted, from what yarn, how many additions the yarn will be. Therefore, I will tell you on the example of mine, and it will not be difficult for you to recalculate for your mittens.

First, we draw the outlines of the mittens on paper and sketch with a pencil the drawing that you would like to see on the finished mittens.

In order for the flowers to turn out to be the same size on both mittens and the pattern to be perfectly mirrored, we outline the main color spots on the drawing.

Step 2. Gasket

We will need a piece of leather of any quality and color. If there is no skin, you can use a piece of leatherette.

We put mittens on the skin and circle them. Cut out. Insert into mittens. Why do we need it? I don’t work with the wrong side, I only embroider on the face, thanks to the lining, I don’t have to constantly check with my hands whether we accidentally sewn both sides of the mittens. The main thing is that the lining should be clearly the size of the mittens, no less and no more, this will also help to avoid contraction and stretching when embroidering.

Step 3. Basting

The front side of the mittens - 19 loops. With a contrasting thread, cotton, Iris, Tulip or another we make a basting, 1 loop on both sides along the entire length of the mitten. A rectangle has been designated, beyond which it is impossible to protrude. And even if the mitten moves in the hands during embroidery, you can always see where the edges of the front side of the mitten are.

There are 17 loops left. With a contrasting thread, we outline the squares, as in the diagram, where the main flowers will be. We make a basting weakly, do not tighten.

Step 4. Embroider flowers

We fold the thread in half and thread it through a long needle with a large eye. We start embroidery from the topmost bud. We have a thread in 2 additions, so there is no need to make a knot, but you need to fix the thread at the beginning of the bud.

So that all the buds on both mittens are the same, we immediately determine that we will make 6 turns per needle for each bud.

The height of the bud is also the same for all. I have this height of 4 rows.

If you have never embroidered with satin stitch before, then, of course, you hardly need to start embroidering mittens right away. In order not to spoil both the mittens and the mood, practice on an old knitted sweater. Having wound 6 turns on the needle, with the left hand we hold the wound threads, and with the right we carefully remove the needle from the turns. The resulting roller is laid according to the drawing.

Having made 3 buds, stretch the thread to the beginning of the next group of buds, embroider two more groups of 3 buds.

Let's start embroidering roses in a large square. You can additionally divide the square into 2 parts with a contrasting thread, in the upper part there will be a rose in the middle, and in the lower part there will be two roses.

Rose

We start from the middle of the rose. We embroider a rose from rollers, like buds. First, we wind 6 turns on the needle, hold the thread, remove the needle from the turns. One roller is ready. The second roller - we bring the needle in the middle of the first roller, slightly to the side, wind 6 turns on the needle and take the needle out of the turns. We lay the roller according to the drawing.

And so the whole rose, each time we bring the needle into the middle of the previous roller, a little to the side. We embroider freely, we do not tighten the thread.

And so, gradually, clockwise, we form a rose, increasing the number of turns.

Our rose consists of 2 rollers of 6 turns. Next, we increase the turns and make 2 rollers of 8 turns, 2 rollers of 10 turns and 2 rollers of 12 turns. Try to keep the roses strictly in the marked square.

All three roses are ready, we bring the thread to the middle of the roses and fix it.

We bring the thread along any rose to the side. We cut the thread.

I deliberately cut the thread to a minimum to show how to secure the thread when it was very, very short. With a needle without a thread, we pierce the rose where we want the thread to pass. When the needle is almost completely sunk into the product, only the eye remains visible, we thread the short tail of the thread into the eye and stretch the needle. The thread passed safely and even a little left. Cut off the rest.

Step 5. Embroider buds and roses on another mitten

We embroider in the same order. First, the topmost three buds, then 2 more pairs of buds and three roses in a square. Here's what happens:

To be continued.

Master class: mittens with "Roses" embroidery. Part 2

We continue.

Step 6. Let's start embroidering greenery

First we embroider the buds.

We fix the thread about three roses at the beginning of the bud stem. We pierce with a needle under the bottom of the bud and bring it out just above the top of the bud, a little to the side. We stretch the thread. We have a stalk of a bud. We pierce with a needle on the other side of the upper part of the bud and bring the needle out at the bottom of the bud. We have a stem and a loop around the bud.

To make the bud beautiful, we fasten the loop that we got around the bud with two stitches at the base of the bud.

The first bud is ready. We proceed to the second. We bring the thread to the beginning of the stem of the second bud near the beginning of the stem of the first bud. And we repeat everything.

We start to embroider a leaf

The leaves should be approximately the same size, about 2 cm long.

We bring the thread to the middle of the future leaflet, somewhere about 1 cm from the roses.

Pulled out the thread.

Got a loop.

We stick the needle 0.5 cm above the loop in the center and bring the needle out on the left side of the loop. Pull out the thread. We got the topmost part of the leaflet.

We continue to embroider a leaf.

On these mittens I embroider with green threads of two colors - light green threads and melange (yellow-green-brown). But you can embroider in one color, I just like it when the leaves are multi-colored, this makes the embroidery more interesting.

The first leaf is embroidered, plain. Now we proceed to the second, multi-colored of melange yarn. And so in a circle around three roses. Try to keep the leaves all the same size.

One mitten is ready.

I do not make a basting for the leaves, on the second mitten I made it especially for you, the same must be done on both mittens. She will help you to make one size.

We start working with the second mitten.

When embroidering leaves, you can not observe complete symmetry on both mittens. The main thing is that the flowers are strictly symmetrical and of the same size.

Both mittens are ready.

This is what the underside of the mittens looks like:

I really hope that my master class will help you. Come up with your own drawings, knit, embroider, give joy to yourself and your loved ones. I would be grateful if this embroidery scheme, on the example of which the master class was made, will be used exclusively for personal purposes, and not for commercial purposes.

Sincerely, Nina Bulgakova

In the cold season, we all put on sweaters, pull on hats and mittens. Monochromatic things are practical, but quickly get bored. Let's decorate ordinary sweaters, mittens and hats by doing "embroidery" on knitted clothes. It is not difficult at all, but it looks spectacular, allowing you to create unique things for adults and children.

Features of embroidery on knitwear

For knitwear, stitch embroidery is mainly used, but there are other embroidery techniques. How to do embroidery on knitted product? To get started, be patient and the following materials:

  • canvas for embroidery;
  • threads;
  • needle for knitwear;
  • beads;
  • Luneville hook;
  • tracing paper;
  • scissors;
  • scheme.

As a canvas, use any knitted item. Choose threads of the same thickness as the threads on the knitted product, in color they should be in harmony with it or be contrasting - it depends on the pattern.

It is quite possible to replace a knitting needle with a regular needle by blunting its tip on a whetstone or sandpaper. Beads can be taken in different colors and sizes. You can even buy a "set" for beadwork and use the included pattern to work with.

On knitwear, it is convenient to carry out with beads using the appropriate hook. Tracing paper will be needed to transfer the “scheme” for satin stitch embroidery. Scissors - for cutting this pattern out of carbon paper, and they are indispensable when working with threads. Any scheme is suitable - contour, as for coloring, if you want satin stitch embroidery, or a scheme for "cross stitch".

If you embroider in loops:

  1. Decide on a picture and a thing.
  2. One cell in the pattern for cross stitch corresponds to one "tick" on the knitted product.
  3. Bring the needle and thread to the front side in the place where the knitted "tick" forks.
  4. We stick the needle at the top of one half of the checkmark, bring it back at the top of the second half, pull the thread - and here is the first stitch.
  5. We stick the needle at the point from which the needle was first brought to the front side. The checkmark is sewn up, the first cell of the picture is ready.
  6. Continuing in the same spirit, we carry out the entire intended picture.

If you embroider with stitch:

  1. Transfer your picture to tracing paper, cut off the excess edges.
  2. Fasten the tracing paper to the knitted fabric by stitching all the contours drawn on the tracing paper with a thread.
  3. Carefully remove the tracing paper.
  4. Embroider the details of the pattern in the stitching technique that is convenient for you, given the nature of the pattern.

If sewing with beads:

  1. Take strong threads that match in color with the main thing.
  2. For embroidery on a knitted product, use a Luneville hook - this way you will not fray the main threads.
  3. It is better to attach beads to the canvas with tambour or stalk suture- this will ensure their reliable fixation and simplify the care of the embroidered product.

In any embroidery, make sure that the thread tension is even, otherwise the pattern will come out skewed.
The theory is over, let's move on to practice.

Description below
To knit mittens, take the following measurements:
1) wrist girth - 19 cm
2) the length of the hand from the wrist to the middle finger - 18 cm
3) the length of the hand from the wrist to the end of the little finger - 14 cm

A chain of 4 air. close in the ring 8 st.b / n. Make increases as in a circle, but in each row not 6 times, but 4 times, i.e. perform not a circle, but a cone. Increase until the total number of loops is 36, i.e. approximately 19 cm.

Switch to knitting without increments and knit 8 cm (14-6=8). Then make a hole for the thumb, i.e. leave 8 loops untied and cast on 8 air sts. After that, knit another 6 cm in a straight st.b / n, and then perform the emission of an elastic band 1 x 1, i.e. alternate convex and concave columns, with a crochet so knit to any height (4-6 cm).

After that, start knitting the thumb - knit 8 st.b / n + 1 (side) + 8 from the air.p. + 1 (side), i.e. 18 loops and knit st.b / n 5 cm high, then knit 2 sts together until 3-4-sts remain. Pull off the loops.

EMBROIDERY ON KNITTED CLOTH

Some types of stitches that are often used for embroidery knitted fabric.

Buttonhole stitch: Follows the shape of a buttonhole in a knitted fabric. Therefore, it is often used instead of laborious knitting of an ornament. Embroidered loops can match knit loops or be 1, 2 or 3 knit loops wide and 1, 2 or 3 rows high, spaced apart or close fitting, covering the background.

"Rococo". Thread the end of the needle three or more times (depending on the size of the pattern), pull the needle through the turns, holding them with your finger, and prick into the fabric near the exit point of the needle. It is used for embroidery of roses and small bouquets.

Double-sided smoothness. Stitches should be laid often, evenly tightening them and guiding them as required by the pattern. With this embroidery technique, the stitches are the same on both sides of the fabric.

It is usually used for embroidery of floral ornaments from flowers and leaves. For more relief pattern the flooring is preliminarily made, and the stitches of the smooth surface are embroidered across the flooring.
