Master class "Basket with flowers" from salt dough. Salt dough modeling workshop: Basket with flowers How to make a salt dough basket

A do-it-yourself salt dough painting is an excellent therapy for the blues, and for especially talented craftsmen it can also become a source of income. We will make a fruit basket as a symbol of health, wealth and abundance.

First make the salt dough:

  • 1 glass of salt;
  • 1 glass of flour;
  • half a glass of water.

Knead the dough, roll it into a ball and refrigerate for an hour or two. After that, we get to work.

Cut a piece of dough the size of tennis ball. Roll it out into a layer about 5 millimeters thick. With a sharp knife, cut out the shape of the basket as shown in the photo below. The basket can be of any shape, let go of your imagination.

Take a garlic press and make thin flagella. Lay them on the handle and rim of the basket, imitating weaving.

Under the rim, apply horizontal stripes with a toothpick.

Add vertical, thin arcuate grooves. The basket is ready.

Let's do the filling. Cut off a small piece of dough, roll out a thin layer with a rolling pin. From this layer we cut out leaves - 9 pieces.

Carefully lay out the leaves in this way.

Now roll the salt dough balls different sizes: 4 large - apples, 3 medium - plums and 25 small pieces - grapes. Attach the apples first. To glue the parts, simply wet the gluing points with water.

Insert the spice of cloves into the middle of the apples - this will give them a natural effect. Be sure to include them!

Then add the plums and the last bunch of grapes. Leave to dry naturally. It will take a lot of time, 3-4 days, and maybe more. If you dry the product in the oven, then be sure at the lowest temperature for 10-12 hours, maybe more, check for apples. But here there is a possibility of burning or cracking if the temperature is higher than necessary. When the painting is dry, take the paints and paint in bright and rich colors. After drying, the paint will become a little lighter. The final touch is to varnish the painting.

Master class "Basket with roses" from salt dough educator MADOU " Kindergarten No. 6, Perm Drozdova Nadezhda Ivanovna Dear colleagues.

Technique: - Not determined - 1.

Good day to all! Today I am with the promised MK for a basket of salt dough. The principle of operation is the same as in Marina Belomyttseva's MK http://stranamasterov.ru/node/121425, but with my changes and the handle attachment.

We cover the bowl with foil and place it on a board, also covered with foil. So it is more convenient to work.

We roll out the dough and cover the bowl with it, smooth it, cut off the excess.

Smooth out the cut edges.

We make sausages. I put them under a plastic bag so that they don't dry out, but a towel on top.

We glue the longitudinal flagella. First 4, and 2 between them, so it turns out more evenly ...

Now the transverse flagella. They are slightly thicker than the longitudinal ones. Trying on...

Trimming, rounding the edges...

We glue it with water, slightly “flattening” the flagellum, and make grooves with a stack.

Lay out 2 and subsequent rows with some slope.

Thus, we attach all the flagella. We have a gap at the bottom that needs to be closed.

We roll a long sausage and glue it neatly to the basket.

We stack the grooves on this lower "sausage". We leave to dry.

We make a pen. Again we roll the sausage, measuring it with the size of the basket, so that it is not very massive, but not very thin either ...

We make grooves with a stack.

And we have here on such a device. This is a strip of cardboard wrapped in foil and glued to a bowl the same size as the basket.

After a day or two, carefully remove the bowl and foil. We take the pen. And let everything dry.

Everything is dry - we fix the handle. Wet the places of attachment of the handle with water and stick on a piece of dough.

Again, moisten with water and attach the handle.

And top with pieces of dough.

This is the basket we should end up with. Dry completely and paint. I paint the baskets with stain or gouache in 2 layers - the first is dark, the top is light. Lacruem. All our basket is ready.

Now you can put flowers from HF there.

Or a test.

Or fruits, vegetables, mushrooms - whatever your imagination and desire will tell you!

Thanks to everyone who came to visit!

Special thanks to the craftswoman Marina Belomyttseva for teaching me how to make these wonderful baskets.

There are two most common ways to dry salt dough. The first way: the finished craft will dry itself. The main thing is that direct sunlight does not fall on it, otherwise it will crack. The craft can be put on a flat surface and wait a few days. The second way: the finished craft is dried in the oven for 3 to 6 hours (depending on the size of the craft). Drying takes place intermittently. One approach is 1-2 hours. For quick drying in one go, set 75-100 degrees in the oven, and then the craft will dry in an hour. At a temperature of 120 degrees, the craft will dry in 30 minutes, but it is better to dry it naturally.

There are two most common ways to color salt dough. The first way: after drying, the finished craft is painted with acrylic paints or gouache using a brush. The second way: food coloring is diluted in water, then added during the preparation of the dough. When the craft is completely painted and dried, it must be covered with a transparent manicure or furniture varnish in 2-3 layers. Each layer must dry before applying the next. In this way, the craft will last for a long time.
