New Year crochet potholder. Scheme and description

We see the main one-piece knitted detail - the head of Santa Claus, along with a beard, hair and hat, and separately related details- eyes (2 pcs.), nose (1 pc.) and pompom (1 pc.).

We start knitting a pot holder from the main one-piece knitted part (Santa Claus's head along with a beard, hair and a hat), which is based on a spiral.

Legend:

V. n. - air loop;

V. n.p. - air loop of the podema;

conn. loop - connecting loop;

Art. without nak. - single crochet;

semist. - half-column;

Art. with nak - a column with one crochet;

Art. with 2 nak. - a column with two crochets.

We choose to knit a circle, in this case, in a spiral, not in rows. It is known that when crocheting a circle in rows, the junction of the beginning and end of the row is always visible, which is undesirable on the face of Santa Claus. This feature, which is undesirable in our case, is absent when crocheting a circle in a spiral. However, having chosen to knit a circle in a spiral, we must carefully monitor the beginning and end of the row. To do this, I always use a tag - it's either just a thread or a special plastic very convenient tag that is sold in the store (you will see it in photo 2).

In addition, to give the tack some stiffness (or density), I used an additional waste thread, which I knitted into a circle. In photo 2 - this is a thread yellow color. As you can see, the color of the thread does not play any role, because it will not be visible.

Photo 2. Crochet circle in a spiral using an additional thread that is knitted into a circle.

We crochet the circle itself according to the description below, crochet No. 2.5

1 row-circle - on a sliding loop we collect 16 tbsp. without nak.

2 row-circle - 16 tbsp. without nak. (we put a mark on the 16th loop so as not to be mistaken)

3 row-circle - 16 tbsp. without nak. (we put a mark on the 16th loop so as not to be mistaken)

4 row-circle - 32 art. without nak. (2 sts without nak in each loop of the previous row), (we put a mark on the 32nd loop so as not to be mistaken)

5 row-circle - 32 art. without nak. (we knit without adding), (we put a mark on the 32nd loop so as not to be mistaken)

6 row-circle -64 art. without nak. (2 sts without nak in each loop of the previous row), (we put a mark on the 64th loop so as not to be mistaken)

We knit rows 7-9 as the 6th row, not forgetting to mark the end of each row with a label.

Having connected 9 rows of the circle, we cut off the additional yellow thread, which we no longer need, and proceed to knitting the beard and hair of Santa Claus (see photo 3).

Photo 3. Beard and hair of Santa Claus.

Santa Claus's beard consists of 6 "fans" connected along the edge of our circle. General principle knitting "fans" is presented in the article

“Fan” in our case, we knit in this way: in the 3rd loop of the last row of the circle we knit 9 tbsp. with 2 nak., we fix the resulting "fan" in the next third loop of the last row of the circle conn. loop. Then again 9 tbsp. with 2 nak. in the next 3rd loop, etc. In total, in this way, as noted above, we knit 6 “fans”.

Without breaking the thread, we proceed to knitting the hair, with "arms" from the 4th century. n. as follows: we knit a chain of 4 c. p. and fix it in the next loop of the circle with the help of the conn. loops. Here we knit again 4 in. p. and fix them in the next loop of the circle conn. loop, etc. In total, you should get 21 "bows."

We cut the thread and hide it. We start knitting Santa Claus's red hat (see photo 4).

Photo 4. Santa Claus hat.

Photo 4 shows that we knit Santa Claus's hat from the back of the row with hair, making columns without nak. for the leg of each column of the last row of the circle (total 21 st. without nak.).

We knit 3 rows of Art. without nak. by 21 st. without nak. in every row. Starting from the 4th row, we make decreases in this way: we knit 2 tbsp. without nak. together at the beginning and at the end of each row until there are 3 loops left, which we will also knit together st. without nak. Break the thread and carefully hide.

Then we will beautifully tie Santa Claus's hat (I do this with the help of half-columns along the edge, it turns out very neatly) and at the same time we will make a beautiful loop for hanging the pot holder (see photo 5).

Photo 5. We tie a Santa Claus hat and make a loop at the top.

A loop for hanging a potholder can be made simply by linking a chain of 10-12 in. n. And you can do it in the following way, which I increasingly use in Lately: having reached the intended place of the loop, we pull a long thread through this loop, make a crochet, then again we pull out a long thread, make a crochet and so on 3-4 times. Then we carefully divide the resulting loops into 2 equal parts and, without tearing off the thread, we tie the resulting loop with st. without nak. Having reached the base of the loop, we join the top of the cap with the help of a conn. loops and continue to tie the hat with half-columns.

So, the main one-piece knitted detail - the head of Santa Claus with a beard, hair and a hat - is ready. It remains to tie the eyes, nose and pompom on the hat.

We knit the eye of Santa Claus as follows: we tie a sliding loop with 10 tbsp. without nak., we tighten the loop and connect the beginning and end of the row of connections. loop. We knit 2 eyes in this way with a black or dark brown thread and crochet No. 0.5.

We knit the nose of Santa Claus with a red thread and crochet No. 0.5: we tie a sliding loop around the 15th tbsp. with nak., we tighten the loop and connect the beginning and end of the row of connections. loop.

Use a toothpick to make a pom-pom for a hat. The very technique of making a pom-pom is clearly shown in photo 6 and does not need additional description.

Photo 6. Making a pompom for a Santa Claus hat using a toothpick.

It remains to sew eyes, a nose and a pom-pom using a regular sewing needle and our potholder in the form of Santa Claus is ready!

I will add that you can tie several tacks not only as New Year's gift friends and family, but also for yourself. After all, these crochet potholders in the form of Santa Claus can perfectly serve as coasters for hot dishes or glasses.

To complement the decoration of the kitchen for the new year 2018 with a stylish tack with a hand-made souvenir in the form of a symbolic monkey, a snowman, a Christmas tree, Santa Claus - great idea! The potholder can be sewn, as well as crocheted or knitted. For strength, New Year's tacks can be duplicated with padding polyester and lined.

The master class offers to sew with your own hands by 2018 the tack "Santa Claus" in a patchwork technique. Experienced needlewomen can sew or knit a useful souvenir in half an hour.

For the tack "Santa Claus" from the patches you need to prepare:

  • Scraps of fabric for the base - 2 pcs. (normal and beautiful);
  • Cloth for face and cap (pink, red or of blue color);
  • Scraps of fabric white color for a hat and a beard with a mustache and eyebrows (fur is also suitable);
  • Accessories for the nose and eyes (can be buttons or fabric);
  • Insulation (synthetic winterizer, batting, knitwear);
  • Sewing accessories.

Master class - description:

  1. Determine the size of the "Santa Claus" potholder at your discretion - it is convenient to hold a square of 20 x 20 cm in your hands. All other details are sewn to this base square
  2. We are preparing the base. We cut out 2 triangles, each the size of half a square, cut diagonally: one half should be red or blue - for a hat, the other - pink or beige - to match the complexion. Modern Santa Claus chooses any shades of color - from blue to silver.
  3. To finish the hat, you need to cut a white strip of fabric or fur 4 cm wide, its length corresponds to the diagonal of the square. Sew the cap frill between the two triangles.
  4. We make out the face. The most interesting part of the work remains - we draw Santa Claus a cheerful, mischievous face. From fluffy fabric or fur, we cut out eyebrows, mustaches and beards. Sew round buttons in place of the eyes and nose. You can sew a fur pom-pom and decorate the tip of the hat.

Since the master class presents the Santa Claus souvenir as a tack, it must be made dense. To do this, you need to prepare a heater from batting or knitwear and close the layer with a lining. We fasten all 3 layers with pins and sheathe with braid or oblique trim. To be able to hang the potholder, at the tip of the hat you need to make a loop from the edging fabric.

In addition to patchwork, original New Year's potholders in the form of a “hero of the occasion” can be crocheted.

We knit a crochet hook "Monkey"

Souvenirs of the symbol of the new 2016 are the most popular gifts for the Christmas holidays, and if this souvenir is also useful? Every housewife will need a potholder in the shape of a monkey in the kitchen, which you can knit with your own hands with knitting needles or crochet from any yarn, even acrylic, at the most affordable price.

Tools and materials:

  • Yarn blue (or brown) and yellow - 50 g each;
  • Remains of white and black threads - 50 g;
  • Crochet hook - No. 5.

Description of the stages of work:

  1. We collect 54 air loops with threads of blue or Brown and close the chain in a ring with one half-column without a crochet. The rows of such knitting are arranged in a spiral.
  2. We knit 7 rows without additions, then in even rows (from the 8th to the 24th) add 1 loop on the right and left - only 4 loops per circle. The diagram shows half of the body of 27 loops.
  3. From the 25th round, we knit the arms and torso in separate circles. We form the neck by decreasing in the 25th, 27th, 29th and 30th rows, 2 loops on both sides.
  4. In the 32nd and 33rd row we add 4 loops each. We knit 7 circles without changes, and from the 41st we decrease again, 4 loops each. front and back halves we knit the heads together with 8 single crochets.
  5. After 4 loops, you need to make a loop for hanging the pot holder: a chain of 10 air loops connect with a ring on the front side with a half-column without a crochet in the 1st air loop. We tie the contour with columns without a crochet.
  6. Knitting fingers. For each hand, knit up 10 circles of 18 loops. Decrease: 2 rounds – * 1 single crochet, 2 sts together with single crochet *. We repeat the rappoport, to the last 8 loops. We raise them as garter stitch, with a needle with a large eye, we draw the thread through all the loops, tighten the hole and sew it up. We knit the second finger-hand in the same way.
  7. Face knitting. We knit the face according to scheme 1 from yellow yarn. We knit the ears in accordance with scheme 3 also with yellow threads. We highlight the eyebrows with white threads, edging them with single crochets. The nose is shown in diagram 2, blue or brown threads are suitable for it. The mouth can simply be embroidered with a chain stitch. If there are no special blanks for the eyes, you can simply sew on buttons. Sew the finished face and ears to the mitten torso. We sew working threads. The do-it-yourself symbol of 2016 is ready.

Variants of souvenirs - symbols of the new 2016 - potholders in the form of monkeys, crocheted or knitted with their own hands, are presented by a video master class.

Tack "Snowman": master class step by step

There are many gifts for the New Year 2016 - both large and modest. And funny knitted potholders made by crocheting or knitting will definitely not be superfluous. They will please the kitchen with an elegant look, fill the interior with expectation. new year celebration. Our snowman turned out to be very romantic: he loves to look at the sky. Try to make it with your own hands together with the children - joint creativity is very close. This master class is intended for those who know how to crochet double crochets and connect 2 threads in work different color.

To work, you need to prepare:

  • 2 types of threads of primary colors - white and blue.
  • A patch of thick fabric for lining.
  • Some yarn in black and orange to decorate the face.

Let's get to work:

  1. Knitting the tack cloth. First you need to dial 27 air loops + 2 pcs. - for lifting. In the first row, as the diagram shows, we knit 26 columns with a crochet (the 27th consists of those 2 loops for turning). The third row consists of 2 air loops for the transition + 26 double crochets and beyond, in accordance with the scheme.
  2. Mixing colors For beginner needlewomen, it can be difficult. To connect 2 threads of different colors, you need to do on new thread air loop and knit it together with the one that was already on the hook. Then we move on to knitting with a new color.
  3. We make out the face of the snowman. We knit the nose and eyes according to the scheme, there is nothing complicated about it.
  4. Fluffy snowflakes enliven the landscape which can be embroidered in any order. This process is sure to captivate the child if you show him a sample.
  5. Lining and binding. The edges of the tack are uneven, so the square must be tied along the contour with single crochets. Knitting should be tight so that the edge is stiff. To neatly arrange the corners, you need to knit 3-4 columns in 1 corner loop. On the other hand, you need to sew on a dense fabric. Knitted potholder is ready.

New Year's potholders!

STEP ONE - KNIT THE CLOTH OF THE POTTON CLOTH WITH A HOOK.

Air row - we knit a chain of 27 air. loops + 2 loops for lifting to the second row

The first row (as in the diagram) - we knit 26 double crochets (the 27th column is the same 2 air loops that we did to climb to the second row)

The third row (as in the diagram) - 2 air loops for climbing a row + 26 double crochets ... etc. according to the scheme.

STEP TWO - MAKE THE NOSE AND EYES on the snowman's tack.

I drew a knitting pattern for the nose and eyes below. There is nothing complicated there. The tack will become completely New Year's, after embroidering snowflakes - this task can be entrusted to your child - he will like to make snowflakes.

STEP TWO - WE DO THE LOOP STRING WITH THE HOOK OF THE POCKETS and sew on the lining.

As we can see, the edges of the potholder are not as beautiful as we would like - therefore, you need to tie the entire New Year's potholder around the edges with single crochets - we make the posts tightly so that the border of the potholder is quite rigid and keeps its shape well. At the corners of the tack (to make the corner neat) we knit 3-4 columns in one corner loop.

We sew fabric on the reverse side of the potholder (you can make a layer of synthetic winterizer or another layer of plump fabric. And that's it - our new New Year's potholder is ready.

And now let's make another tack in the snowman theme

SNOWMAN IN A HAT - in the form of a New Year's potholder.

We'll need yarn of three colors, bigger buttons for the eyes and smaller ones for the mouth. And also a piece of natural white fabric for lining the back of the tack (the fabric must be natural so that it does not melt when it comes into contact with hot pots and pans).

STEP ONE - KNIT THE CLOTH OF THE HOOK POCKETS.

air row(not in the diagram) we collect a chain of 17 loops + 2 air. loops for lifting to the second row.

Second row(according to the diagram) - we knit 17 double crochet stitches (the 18th stitch replaces the 2 air sts that we scored for lifting)

Third row- we collect 2 air. n. to rise to the third row - and we knit a double crochet in ONE loop of the previous row - and so on for knitting tacks below.

STEP TWO - WE PROCESS THE EDGES of the knitted canvas of the New Year's tack.

Our knitted tack cloth has rather clumsy edges on its sides (from the fact that we subtracted and added columns - this always does not look very aesthetically pleasing). We need to smooth out these uneven edges. To do this, we again take the hook and go through the edges of the entire tack with single crochets - changing accordingly colored thread when the color of the edge of the New Year's potholder will change.

STEP THREE - SEW THE FABRIC SIDE from the inside of the pot holder.

Our crocheted the tack on the wrong side has a bunch of knots, thread interlacing - and we need to hide it all.

We take a fabric (natural, so that it does not melt on contact with hot pans) - and cut out the same silhouette of a tack from the fabric. We will need to sew this fabric part to the back of the New Year's tack (pre-process this fabric part 0 by bending the cut of our fabric along the edges - and stitch it)

If we want the potholder to be thicker, we can also make a centipon or other thick material between the fabric and knitted side.

FATHER FROST ON THE NEW YEAR'S POCKET.

We'll need- 3 small balls - red, white, pink (or beige) + 2 black buttons and one red for the nose. It will be much prettier if white threads will be slightly fluffy (but not mohair or angora - woolen tacks burn) such disheveled cotton yarn is on sale - with ponytails and tassels - it will look great on the beard and mustache of our tack Santa Claus.

STEP FIRST - WE KNIT THE CLOTH OF NEW YEAR'S POTTON.

Air row (it is not on the diagram) - we collect a chain of 24 air. loops + 2 loops for lifting to the second row.

Second row (according to the scheme) - we knit 24 columns with a crochet (25 columns are the same 2 air points with which we climbed to the second row).

Third row - we collect 2 air. loops for lifting on a row + we knit 24 double crochets.

Fourth row - the same - but here it starts new color mating… And you must know how to knit a thread of a new color.(I just talked about this when we knitted the first potholder in this article).

STEP TWO - we crochet a MUSTACHE to Santa Claus on a New Year's tack.

Now it remains to sew the eyes, nose and mustache to our New Year's potholder so that it looks like Santa Claus. Mustache knits easily(here is a small diagram below) -

air row- 6 air. p + 1 air.p for lifting -

Second row - single crochet - double crochet - double crochet - again single crochet - single crochet - and finish with a connecting column.

STEP THREE - we process the edges and the wrong side of the New Year's knitted pot holder

We process the edges of the tack with single crochets - changing the color of the thread as we move along the colored zones. At the corners of the tack, we knit THREE single crochets in ONE corner loop (to get a neat corner).

At the top of Santa Claus's hat - we make a loop(6 air loops and we knit so many single crochets in them - to get a neat “bagel-loop”).

Cover the reverse side of the tack with a cloth.(if desired, you can make a layer of synthetic winterizer or fleece inside.

Good luck with your crochet work.
