Why not weave a bag out of newspaper tubes? Weaving bags from newspaper tubes Bags woven from newspaper tubes.

A little over a year has passed since I fell ill with weaving from paper vine. Things have appeared that are very useful in the household, and there is always something to give to friends. Then the thought came to me, but should I swing at a summer bag, like from the spring-summer 2012 collection from Dolce & Gabbana.

The prices in stores are just space. And then a thing turned out from improvised means!

It took 2 evenings for the birth of the bag.

She wound tubes from the edge of the newspapers. I tried very hard to make them thin, so I wound 1 mm on a knitting needle. Painted with a solution of primer + water + a little red-brown color.

On a special machine made from an arched profile, I laid out 12 racks. In the extreme racks inside the wire. Weaved with wet tubes, they are not dry, like plasticine. I wove 52 cm with chintz weaving. I finished weaving next to a rope of three tubes. The same row at the base.

For the side walls, I first drew a layout. According to him, I made a frame of tubes with wire inside. Further, the same "calico" from the bottom up.

I covered the details with scuba. After the varnish had dried, I simply sewed all the parts with strong threads. 2 more layers for strength over the finished bag.

In the bins there were belts that I simply attached with hot glue. And if I get bored, I’ll redo it: maybe I’ll attach brighter pens.

I plan to “concoct” a beach bag, I will definitely share the result.

All the best!

Albina Latypova

Recently I wrote about how and what handbags can be made from. Here's another idea for those who don't know how or don't like to sew, but love original bags. Albina Latypova was inspired by the spring-summer 2012 collection from Dolce & Gabbana and wove a similar bag newspaper tubes.

It took 2 evenings for the birth of the bag.

On a special machine made from an arched profile, I laid out 12 racks. In the extreme racks inside the wire. Weaved with wet tubes, they are not dry, like plasticine. I wove 52 cm with calico weaving. I finished weaving next to it with a string of three tubes.

The safari-style handbag turned out as intended. The idea is completely mine: the image stood before my eyes, every detail was planned. Made it in 2 incomplete days. Strength and practicality were important to me. The leather is artificial, but it is comfortable to work with. I made the bottom out of thick cardboard, pasted pre-painted tubes, covered it with a second cardboard with an image on top, so that the bottom from the inside was also interesting.Weaved with a rope, alternately changing tubes of different colors.
So it turned out interesting effect with color transitions.
The middle was woven with a zigzag pattern based on chintz weaving from white tubes,
the tube bases were also painted in advance.
Details - clasps taken from old bag. The strap is adjustable. I sewed it on a typewriter with orange threads so that there was a contrast. I secured the strap on the bag with an additional piece of leather, on which I made cuts, and a fringe turned out. It was possible to bring the fringe out, but this option seemed clumsy to me. So I hid the inside of the bag and just tied these strips together.
They do not interfere, and you can always change the design, change the handles.
I wanted to make the effect of old age during painting. First applied with a sponge white paint, and then rubbed the painted surface with a dry sponge until the paint dried. After complete drying, I glued the skin to the bottom, glued the edging along the joints. I treated all the edges of the leather parts with a lighter flame. The bottom of the bag is painted from the inside with a glossy colorless varnish. After completion of all work, the body of the product was painted
colorless acrylic paint for saunas.
