The uniqueness of our accessory is that it can be used not only as a hat, but also as a brooch, and as an ornament on a belt, for example. My flower was used for a photo shoot.

For work, we need - fabric (organza, chiffon, crystallon) 1.25 meters, crinoline (soft crossbar) 15-20 cm wide about 1-1.5 meters, threads to match the main fabric, scissors, glue gun, base for a hat (or leatherette), hat elastic.

So let's get started. Before starting work, we need to prepare the main fabric - starch it, or soak it with a gelatin solution to stiffen it, and dry it.

We take the crinoline, collect it in small folds by hand on one side. We sew with threads, giving a crinoline fan round shape. (photo 2.3) Gently burn the open edge of the crinoline with a lighter, collect the open melted edge into a bundle and sew it to the central part of the gathered fabric. (photo 5,6).

We get an elastic shape so that the petals of our future flower do not fall down, but seem to be raised. (Photo 7, 8, 9)

Next, we take the prepared main fabric, iron it if necessary, cut it into strips. My flower consists of 5 tiers. Therefore, I cut the fabric into strips 25 cm, 20 cm, 18 cm, 15 cm and 10 cm wide. Draw petals of arbitrary shape on the fabric with chalk. We cut out the petals with very sharp scissors and lay them out in size. (photo 10, 11, 12)

Warm up the glue gun. When the glue becomes liquid, we take a petal (we start from the lower tier, the largest petals are 25 cm each), collect it with beautiful folds to get a natural bend over the area of ​​​​the entire petal, and fix the folds with small drops of hot glue or sew with threads. I stitched with threads to avoid excessive thickness in the finished product. Thus, we collect all the petals and arrange them in size. (photo 13, 14)

We try on the collected petals on the crinoline base. With help glue gun glue the petals to the base. We continue to glue all the tiers in a circle until we get a luxurious flower. (photo 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23)

Now is the time to think about how we will attach our flower. Ideally, of course, there would be a professional basis from sinamei. But I didn't have it on hand. Therefore, I had to urgently come up with a home-made basis. For her, I cut out a circle from silver leatherette and cut a hat elastic. (photo 24, 25, 26, 27)

We mark on the wrong side of the circle the points for attaching the loops and with the help of a glue gun we glue the loops from the hat gum. We cover the entire wrong side of the circle with glue and fix the circle with loops in the middle of our flower. (photo 28, 29, 30, 31)

At this stage, it seemed to me that the glue would not hold the loops enough, and I manually sewed a circle around the perimeter, simultaneously fixing it on a crinoline base. (photo 31, 32, 33).

We turn our flower, look at how the petals lie, in some places the petals can be glued to each other or secured with a couple of stitches to get the necessary bend. And our flower hat is ready! With the help of elastic loops, the hat can be put on a hair hoop, fasten the flower with hairpins on the hair, use pins to fasten it to the dress as a brooch or as a decoration on a purse or belt.

2. On the same sheet, from the same point in the center, draw a circle smaller than the initial one, it should occupy ¾ of the initial circle.

In total, on one sheet we have two circles, on the second three.

1. We take the first sheet (on which there are two circles) and cut out a circle (along the contour of the large one).
2. After that, we make a fringe around the circumference with scissors (up to the contour of a small circle).
3. We bend the resulting fringe inward. Set aside a circle.
4. We take the second sheet of paper and cut it out along the contour of the largest circle.
5. Cut out the smallest circle from the inside with scissors.
6. We make a fringe with scissors from the outline of a small circle to the outline of a large circle.
7. We bend the fringe inward.
8. Now we need to cut out a segment from the remnants of paper, which will be the side walls of our cylinder. In this case, the size of the cut strip should correspond to the size of a small circle on the sheet (we make the size a little larger so that there is an overlap for gluing).

1. Now we will work with a sheet on which we have drawn three circles. We smooth the fringe on it, so that it is more convenient to lubricate with glue. After all the pieces are well smeared with glue, return them to their original position (sticking up).
2. Now we put a cylinder from a piece of cardboard on the smeared circle with a fringe, press them well against each other so that the glue seizes as expected.

2. To do this, we again need the value of the volume of the head (for example, 56 cm). We apply a ruler to the edge of the cardboard, mark 56 cm, add another 5 centimeters to the existing measurement (they are necessary in order to glue the part).
3. It turns out that we need a sheet of at least 61 cm. We measure exactly half of this size, and with a wire horizontal line(length approximately 40 cm, if it was a clown's hat, then a larger cone would be needed, and since we have a hat with a brim, 40 cm will be enough).
4. Now from this line we need to draw a semicircle on both sides of it. So that this process does not cause you many problems, just take it, tie a rope to the pencil. With this design, you can easily draw a semicircle on cardboard.
5. Cut out the resulting semicircle.
6. Roll it into a cylinder, and glue both sides to each other.
7. After the cylinder is ready, glue the fringe on the circle and put our cylinder on it.

When the napkins stick and the product is completely dry, you can continue to work. For greater expressiveness, the crown should be circled around the edge with green paint. Then we decorate the crown with multi-colored paper flowers and glue the beads. Volumetric flowers from bent strips of paper will make our crown even more elegant.

We make the basis of the crown from green paper tapes the same width. We cover the child’s head with them, and then we form a crosshair so that the crown does not slip onto the forehead.

We cut out the flower petals, make cuts on each of them and lightly pinch to give the petals a curved shape. Then we attach them to the base of the flower, cut out of darker paper. With a dark green pencil, I add lines at the base of each petal to give them an even more natural look.

We make the core of the flower from pieces of a yellow napkin rolled up in lumps, and the stamens from wires with beads put on their ends.

You can sew such a hat with your own hands without any pattern.
The fact is that such a hat is sewn in a spiral. It can even be sewn from elastic braid or, like mine, from strips of any fabric, cut along the bias.
The advantage of this model is also the fact that you yourself can form just such a length and waviness of the hat fields that will suit you, your type of face.
So, we need cotton fabric (I needed 1 meter with a fabric width of 150 cm).
I note that if you want the brim of your hat to be bigger and wider, then take this into account when buying fabric, take a little more.

PREPARATION OF THE BIAS INLINE FROM FABRIC

First, we need to cut the fabric along an oblique strip 6 cm wide.

Now you need to connect all these stripes into one long ribbon.
Moreover, as you can see, the edges of the strips turn out to be cut off by 45-degree corners, so we connect them also along an oblique, as in the photo.
If for someone the connection of the oblique inlay is difficult, then you can simply cut these corners at 90 degrees and connect the strips in the usual way, across. True, in this case, the total length of the strip will noticeably decrease, do not forget to take this into account when buying fabric.
We sweep or chop off individual strips with needles, sew on a typewriter.

We should get one long strip with such oblique seams as you see in the next photo. Smooth out the seams. Fold the strip in half and iron.

We need to slightly round off one edge of the strip, literally the initial 30-40 cm.
This is necessary so that the bottom of the hat lies better, more flat.
To do this, you need to slightly stretch and round the strip when ironing.

Our strip - the workpiece is ready. It remains to process the open cut (zigzag on a sewing machine, the protruding corners of the fabric need to be cut off), and you can take on the formation of a hat.

FORMING THE HAT

We start from the bottom. In a spiral, we begin to build circles.
The meaning of the work is that the result should be a flat circle. If you, increasing the next turn, see that your strip is bent down and curved, then make a small pinch.
For those who crochet, this procedure will not present any difficulty at all.
As a result, we get a snail outlet. 17 centimeters in diameter.
It will, however, be better if you take some kind of panama hat or flat-bottomed hat (not a baseball cap) and start applying it from time to time, comparing. So you will be sure that the hat will sit well on you.

I also note that if you do not often sew on a typewriter, then it is better to sew this circle by hand (then you can lay a line on top of the hand stitches), it will turn out more accurately.

Now we are moving to sewing machine. We need to sew a pipe.
That is, now we just continue to sew our strip in a spiral, but without adding anything and without making tucks.
The strip will begin to bend and we will get a pipe.
It is desirable that your sewing machine the sleeve was removed, so sewing is much more convenient.

In height, we need to add about 9 cm in this way (interrupt for fitting).

Now we have a cap and you can fully indulge in the design of the type of hat. As you understand, we are starting to form the fields.
To do this, we again need to expand the structure with small tucks. If you lay a lot of pintucks, the fields will be more wavy.
The length of the fields is also up to you. Experiment!

I will only note that when finishing the fields, we need to gradually reduce the band to nothing. By the way, I have (on last photo) is not very good. :)

You can sew a hat according to the same principle, but in a more playful version. Here's how it looks in the photo from the magazine "MOD" No. 425.

The difference is that we do not process the cut of our strip, but on the contrary, we put it on public display! We sew a hat with a raw cut outward, and then further ruffle it.
I think that in order to make the fringe wider, you need to initially cut the strip not 6 cm wide, but more, 7-8 cm. You can sew the strips together in a zigzag, in order to simultaneously stop the further "spreading" of the fringe. You can first zig-zag the entire strip, stepping back a couple of centimeters from the edge (the length of the future fringe), and then sew the hat. So you are guaranteed to get a fringe of the same length.
If you take denim, then when you ruffle the fringe, it will be different in color, and it will look even more interesting (please note that with denim because of its thickness it is quite difficult to work).
You can even sew such a hat from used clothes or remnants of fabric.
