On December 15, 2011, New Year's events for children begin in the Rodnik library. Already today, pupils of MDOU No. 9 visited the library. With great enthusiasm and pleasure, together with the members of the ensemble, the guys danced around the Christmas tree, played games, danced and participated in competitions, played comic skits, sang funny New Year's songs.
After the theatrical performance, the children got acquainted with the thematic book exhibitions "The New Year is rushing to us" and "We celebrate the New Year with the dragon." Colorful exhibitions aroused great and genuine interest among our little friends.
The participants of the New Year's festive meeting, which took place in an atmosphere of joy and fun, were not left without gifts. The kids were rewarded with sweet treats.

The New Year holidays are getting closer and closer. Children are especially happy - they will soon get a box with bright toys from the mezzanine, the house will be filled with fuss, and Santa Claus will bring long-awaited gifts!
So the children in the children's library No. 9 are preparing for the New Year.
Children of grades 1 and 3 of school No. 23 took part with interest in the master class "Santa Claus's Workshop", which was prepared for them by librarians.
Children enjoyed learning how to make christmas toys: herringbone, snowman, bells, and also made a garland. New Year's songs helped the children to keep up the New Year's mood.
On January 25, 2011, a New Year's holiday was held in the Family Reading Library. Guests, our regular readers, gathered in the reading room of the library. Preschoolers (from 3 to 7 years old) came with their parents, but there were also older children, from 1st to 4th grade.
The doors to the "New Year's Tale" were opened by the Fairy and the Buffoons. Then a cheerful Snow Maiden appeared and, of course, Santa Claus. Santa Claus did not come alone, but with the Firebird. The guests sang songs, danced, guessed riddles and played New Year games. In the midst of the holiday, Baba Yaga appeared. She taught the children the forest dance, and the children, in turn, sang a song to her. Most of our little guests read poems to Grandfather Frost. At the end of the holiday, music sounded again and Baba Yaga returned from the forest. She just couldn't resist dancing the "Dance of the Little Ducklings" with everyone else. The Firebird, which brought the telegrams, did not stand aside either. All participants of the holiday received sweet prizes.
The New Year is approaching….. A magical, bright and noisy holiday, with a sea of gifts, desires, hopes.
On December 25, a New Year's game program for preschool children "Book fun" was held in the library of the public center of the Pskovkirpich microdistrict. The kids guessed winter riddles, played games at Christmas tree and showed their talent for reading poems on the New Year theme.
The program was accompanied by a display of the media magazine "Cheerful Kaleidoscope".

Soon - soon the New Year! most fabulous and magical holiday! We also invited our most beloved readers to the "Adventures of the Little Dragon" holiday. But along with them, Baba Yaga and the evil Dragon made their way to us, who wanted to take all the gifts for themselves. But it was not there! The guys so unanimously defended the Snow Maiden, the Christmas tree and gifts, sang, danced, guessed riddles so well that Baba Yaga and the evil Dragon had to become kind and fluffy, otherwise Santa Claus would not have left them at the holiday and would not have given gifts to them.
In addition to gifts, the most interesting New Year's books dedicated to the Dragon, the symbol of the year, are waiting for all our readers in the library. These are fairy tales, and fantasy, and just winter poems! And besides this, the traditional exhibition "Talisman of the Year" is open in the library. This year, the symbol of the year is the Dragon, which is why you can see a variety of dragons at the exhibition: they are both knitted and painted, they are made of straw and something else completely incomprehensible. But everyone is equally kind, funny and funny. Everyone especially likes little Nessie. And you? Come! They (Dragons) are waiting for you… during library opening hours.

On December 27, the Children's Ecological Library, together with a branch of the Pskov City Youth Center (PGMC) children's club "Dream" summed up the results of the competition of New Year crafts and drawings "Santa Claus' Workshop". The awarding of the winners of the competition and the New Year's fairy tale for children, participants in the competition, took place on the territory of the Rodnik library. At the celebration, the children were awarded certificates of honor and memorable prizes. The children participated with interest in the fabulous entertainment program held for them by the volunteers of the Youth Center, they danced with the Snow Maiden with pleasure, guessed riddles, saved Santa Claus, guessed with the help of a magic musical hat, recited poems and participated in other competitions prepared for them. Also, all the guests and participants of the holiday were able to get acquainted with the exhibition of works of the contestants. EML No. 20, PTPL No. 22, school No. 12 and school No. 21, as well as the RaDuGa and Rodnik libraries, were awarded letters of thanks for their active cooperation with the PSMC.
December 28 in the children's ecological library "RaDuGa" was awarded the smallest and most active participants in the competition New Year's crafts and drawings. Children from group No. 9 MOUD No. 40 "Brook" were awarded sweet prizes and a letter of thanks. Also for the children there was a New Year's party and a master class "Santa Claus's Workshop". Children, together with librarians, created their own, very ecological, Christmas tree from multi-colored prints of their hands and decorated it with snowflakes. They took the Christmas tree with them and promised to give it to Santa Claus at the matinee in kindergarten, which will be held on December 29.
An exhibition-view of books has opened in the children's library "LiK" "New Year's Book Carnival", which presents the books-anniversaries of the outgoing year, the winners of the summer campaign "We will stick the sun, the book and delight on a leaf!", As well as the most popular books of 2011.
The first visitors to the exhibition were students and teachers of schools No. 47 and No. 9.

New Year is by far the most favorite children's holiday! All year the guys are waiting for this event, as a real miracle. After all, it is on this holiday that they can meet their favorite fairy-tale characters and see the real Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden.
In the Children's Library No. 9, first-graders from school No. 23, and students of the 3rd grade of the Razvitiya Lyceum gathered in the reading room, on the game program "Christmas Lights Invite to a Fairy Tale", where they were met by the Snow Maiden. And then the harmful Shapoklyak and Baba Yaga appeared. They decided to spoil the holiday and hid a bag of gifts. To return it, the guys had to guess the New Year's riddles of Baba Yaga and answer the tricky questions of Shapoklyak, be dexterous and well-aimed in competitions. And then, with the help of the latest technology, Baba Yaga contacted Santa Claus and he congratulated the guys on the New Year. The Snow Maiden revived the Christmas tree and distributed gifts to the children. The holiday continued with songs and dances around the green beauty. At the end of the meeting, the guys paid attention to the exhibition “Novelty from a Book Basket” and looked at colorful books with interest.
