The best indelible hair reviews. Leave-in hair oil: which is better

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oleo-Complexe Versatile Beautifying Oil (All Hair Types)

The Kerastase professional line of hair products is luxury hair in every sense. Starting from an elegant glass bottle, a crazy oriental fragrance and ending with a corresponding price. In total, there are 4 indelible oils in the line, but this is exactly what is intended for all types of hair. It not only smoothes the hair and prevents splitting, but also acts as a thermal protection before styling.

Feedback from kosmetista.ru:

“After drying, the hair with this oil is very shiny, silky, flowing, looking healthy and well-groomed. And the oil does not weigh down the hair at all. Even if it is re-applied to dry hair. Protects well from a hot hair dryer. I love this oil, it's perfect! Even among other Kerastase oils, it is the best, and I have tried all 4 types.

Price: from 1,500 rubles per 100 ml

Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment

If you are against a large number silicones in skin care cosmetics, then you will like this oil: it contains only two silicones, the rest is natural argan and macadamia oils. The product comes in a dark glass bottle natural oils damage by direct sunlight. Restores damaged areas of hair and protects against UV radiation and the sad consequences of dyeing.

Advice: if you are purchasing the product for the first time, take the mini version (30 ml). So you will understand whether it is worth spending money on a full-size bottle in the future.

Feedback from irecommend.ru:

“Hair becomes just magical! Silk! Very shiny and smooth! Live and crumbly! There is no trace of fluffiness, every hair is compacted. The effect of heavy (in good sense!) hair, but not slick.”

Price: from 3,000 rubles for 125 ml

L'oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil

One of the most popular oils in its niche. Convenient dispenser. 2-4 drops are enough for shoulder-length hair. Plus, the tool has pleasant smell, which remains on light hair veil. Ideal for thin hair due to its lightness. By the way, we recommend you.

Feedback from kosmetista.ru:

“Quite liquid, with a pleasant smell, which my husband really likes, quickly absorbs into the hair, does not weigh it down, but removes fluffiness. I use it on dry hair, usually two pumps full length."

Price: from 1,000 rubles for 125 ml

Dove Pure Care Dry Oil for hair

Budget, but no less worthy tool. The oil is positioned by the manufacturer as dry - its consistency is very light and instantly absorbed by the hair, does not leave a greasy feeling. Contains African macadamia oil, moisturizes and nourishes hair, prevents split ends.

Feedback from irecommend.ru:

“The hair after it is very soft, incredibly smooth, as if straightened with an iron. But this applies only to well-groomed, smooth, thick, heavy hair. If you have curly or very dry hair, starting from the crown, then naturally, this effect will not be. It gives a beautiful shine and a pleasant smell.

Price: from 500 rubles per 100 ml

Orofluido Original Elixir

Another hit. The consistency of the oil is thick, so 1-2 drops are enough for application. The elixir is in a glass bottle without a dispenser, which seems inconvenient to many, but just due to the viscosity, you can collect the required amount in the palm of your hand. The product contains argan, linseed and cyperus oils, protects hair from sunlight and the effects of excessive hair dryer and curling.

Feedback from kosmetista.ru:

“I usually apply it to damp hair, paying particular attention to the ends. It moisturizes the hair well, they do not look dry, do not get confused. The split ends do not stick together, but prevent their appearance. Hair is shiny and looks good. The tool is very economical: 100 ml should be enough for at least 8 months.”

Price: from 1,900 rubles per 100 ml

Syoss Beauty Elixir

The Syoss brand offers three ways to use the product: before washing as a hair mask, after washing on damp hair and already on dry and styled hair to give the hair a final shine and tame the stray hairs. The oil has a rich yellow. But don't worry, it won't color your hair.

Feedback from otzovik.com:

“The hair has become less split and broken, unnecessary splendor has disappeared, the hair does not look heavy and dirty. I thought that with the use of oil I would have to wash my hair more often, it turned out to be the opposite. Apparently due to the fact that urban dust does not penetrate the hair thanks to the oil. This fact made me happy."

Price: from 300 rubles per 100 ml

Garnier Fructis oil elixir for all hair types

Hair is transformed by two oils in the composition - argan and camellia. The good news is that in a concise composition, the oil occupies the initial positions. The elixir can be applied even before shampooing, even after styling is completed to soften curls. For an impressive amount of low price.

Feedback from kosmetista.ru:

“I apply generously after each shampoo to damp hair (half the length, not just the ends). Then dry your hair naturally. After drying, the hair is soft, smooth, shiny, easy to comb, better fit (without oil, it dries up randomly and curls in different directions, with oil only the tips curl slightly).

Price: from 350 rubles for 150 ml

Leave-in hair oil helps women monitor the condition of their hair, gives curls a well-groomed and neat look. Unlike conventional oil, no-rinse oil has a low density, making it very easy to apply.

Kinds

There are two types of hair oil: with silicone and without.

Any of these products forms a protective film on the hair, providing protection from negative impact environment, it nourishes the strands with vitamins, essential oils and other useful substances, makes hair strong. However, oil without silicone is different in that the film with which it envelops the strands is weak and quickly washed off. Cosmetics with silicone, of course, are more harmful than products without it, however, most girls turn a blind eye to this, fascinated by the excellent visual effect of non-glued, non-split, shiny curls that are easy to comb.

In addition to all this, there is a tool that is commonly called natural silicone. It's broccoli oil. Broccoli is native to Italy, where it has been growing for two thousand years. This oil is a storehouse of vitamins, trace elements and fatty acids. It contains vitamins A, E, C, K, iron, potassium, calcium, oleic, stearic and many other acids. This tool is quite thick and instantly absorbed into the curls, has a pungent odor, but it quickly leaves the hair.

How to apply

Use this product, as well as many other types of hair cosmetics. The product should be applied starting from the tips, slowly moving up, you need to make sure that the layer is uniform. Under no circumstances should the leave-in oil be allowed to spread to the scalp and hair roots, as this can lead to clogged pores.

Then the hair follicles will not receive nutrients and oxygen.

How to choose

It is impossible to confidently say that one type of oil is beautiful, and the other is no good, the type of hair and the woman's preferences play a big role. Trial and error will help you find the right tool for you, use the products of different companies in turn and choose the most effective one.

A comparison of two popular hair oils that do not need to be washed off is in the next video.

There are a few tips on how to choose an oil based on your hair type.

  1. Ladies with tight curls It is worth paying attention to medium-viscosity products. Such cosmetics give the hair shine and lightness, perfectly nourishes.
  2. Owners of thin hair it is better to take a closer look at the liquid consistency, which is commonly referred to as fluids.
  3. Girls with dark or curly hair leave-in oil with a fatty composition is suitable.

Which oil to choose and how to make right choice you will learn from the video.

Rating

If we make an overview of well-known manufacturers who have been delighting customers with their products for many years, we get the following picture.

Revlon

The company was born in 1932, its origins were Charles Revson and his relative, chemist Charles Lachman (it was he who contributed to the appearance of the letter "L" in the name of the company). Since then, Revlon has been one of the leaders in the cosmetics market. Hair Care Product Orofluido, released by this manufacturer, is a healing mixture of rush, argan, cyperus oil and linseed oil, which has a vanilla-sweet smell.

This composition gives curls an amazing radiance.

Reviews about the oil are generally positive, customers note its chic effect, pleasant aroma and economy in use, among the shortcomings they mainly name a rather high cost.

Pantene Pro-V

The history of the brand began during World War II, when provitamin B5 (panthenol) was discovered. Since then, the company has had many changes, but it still does not lose its first positions and offers the best combination of price and quality. Hair oil of this brand is gentle and airy, like liquid silk. It exudes a sweetish delicate aroma, envelops the hairline with a non-greasy film, nourishes and protects.

If we analyze the reviews of girls about the product of this company, we will see that they differ, and in general, we can evaluate the quality of the oil as average.

Garnier

The beginning of this company was laid in 1904 by the Frenchman Alfred Amour Garnier. The manufacturer's cosmetics are based on extracts of fruits, herbs, flowers and seeds, and are also flavored with a complex of minerals and vitamins. Leave-in hair oil Garnier Fruktis, in addition to the above useful ingredients, includes filters that protect against ultraviolet radiation and organic substances. In addition, the alcohol included in the composition eliminates excess sebum. With regular use of this remedy, the curls become healthy, voluminous, shiny and elastic.

As for the quality assessment, the reviews of the beautiful half of humanity about the oil of this company are ambiguous.

Estel

At the origins of the Russian brand Estel was Uni-cosmetics, founded in 1999 by Lev Okhotin, a chemist by training. Today, a wide range of hair care products allows you to choose an oil for any type of hair. For thin strands of light color, a product that includes Inca Inchi oil is wonderfully suitable. In an ensemble with vitamin E, this oil gives curls silkiness and shine. If you often use a curling iron or hair dryer, you should pay attention to the product Estel "Thermal protection" with silk proteins.

In addition, you can purchase a fluid gloss, an oil that perfectly restores hairline and provides reliable protection against negative influences.

Women speak differently about the effect of this brand of oil; in general, its quality can be assessed as average.

Moroccanoil

The company was founded in 2006 in Israel by the owner of a number of beauty salons Carmen Tal. The products of this manufacturer are quite expensive, but very effective. Revitalizing hair oil of this brand makes the hair soft and manageable, has a unique smell of a mixture of ginger, musk and flowers, which keeps the curls for a long time. In addition, the product contains high-quality argan oil, it gives the strands strength and beauty. The consistency of the mixture is thick, but does not weigh down the hair and is used very sparingly.

Most women rate this leave-in oil as one of the very best, citing only very little as their only drawback. high price.

Tasha&Co

The history of the brand has been continuing since 2004, when a delicious soap was brought to Russia from Denmark self made and cosmetics for body care. Recipes collected during travels, fragrant mixtures of flowers and herbs, valuable oils, healthy fruits - all this formed the basis of the company's products.

However, natural ingredients are not suitable for all women, they can cause allergies, so customer reviews of this manufacturer's oils are ambiguous, and range from admiration to hatred.

How to DIY

If you really want to use exclusively natural cosmetics, without silicone and alcohol, then you can create an oil for your curls at home.

coconut

You will need a coconut nut, filtered water and pure plastic tableware. It is necessary to make a hole in the coconut and drain the liquid, then break it and free the pulp from the shell. Then grind the pulp with a blender. If needed, add some water. Put the coconut flakes into a bowl.

The water should boil, then, when it cools down a bit, pour it over the pulp. Keep for several hours at room temperature, and then one night in the cold. The next day, collect coconut oil in a glass dish and melt in a water bath, without bringing to a boil. Then strain and keep no more than two weeks in a closed container in the refrigerator.

Before use, warm the frozen product in the palms of your hands or in warm water.

Burdock

For self-production of such a tool, you will need olive oil, vegetable or almond oil (170 ml) and burdock root (two tablespoons). Grind the root, pour oil and place in a hermetically sealed container. After that, the composition is recommended to be kept for seven days in a dark place, shaking from time to time. Next, the mixture must be put for fifteen minutes in a water bath, it is not worth bringing to a boil. When the product has cooled, it should be filtered and put in a cool dark place.

from avocado

Wonderfully revitalizes damaged and dry hair, they look shiny and elastic.

For a healing mixture, you will need filtered water (25 grams), coconut milk (420 ml) and ripe avocados (850 grams). First you need to remove the skin from the fruit and free them from the seeds. Then, using a blender, turn the pulp into gruel. Then add milk and mix well.

Next, you need to pour water into a steel saucepan and cook the mixture of milk and avocado over medium heat, stirring constantly. The slurry should thicken, and its volume will decrease. The next step is to squeeze the composition through cheesecloth into a bowl.

I have been familiar with leave-in hair products for three years, before I did not use them and in vain. It was before using them that my hair went through hard times, broke, terribly split, their structure deteriorated and, accordingly, I could not grow the length of my hair.

Of course, in order for my hair to change, I introduced not only indelible products into their care, but also many other things, but it is the “indelibles” that play a significant role. And today I want to show and tell you about my indelible products that I have on this moment.

❆Oil leave-in products❆

1.

My favorite "non-washer" is

Oil-elixir for hair Fructis Transformation

- this is my first leave-in oil, and I have had it for a very long time, at the moment it has almost come to an end, so I can form a complete opinion about its properties.
The oil elegantly smoothes the hair, gives the hair shine and sleekness.

I use it after washing on slightly damp hair, spreading from the middle of the ears and paying special attention to the ends.

I would also like to note that the oil has a light texture, it is instantly absorbed into the hair, removing fluffiness, for my porous hair it fit just perfectly, you can’t say otherwise. The composition of the oil, of course, is silicone, and you need to understand that the oil does not heal hair, but only gives cosmetic effect.

After the oil, the hair is nourished, shiny, just gorgeous. And the effect persists until the next wash - soft ends of the hair, I'm 100% sure that partly thanks to this product, I kept the ends from brittleness and grew the length. What else I like, it is very difficult to overdo it with oil, it is absorbed into the hair, transforming it.

But this oil is not suitable for everyone, they like to compare it with L "Oreal Elseve Extraordinary 6 oils, it recently appeared in my collection of leave-in products. Considering that I used Garnier oil without interruption for almost three years after each wash and my hair is not used to, then I wanted to try L "Oreal Elseve, and evaluate its effect on my hair.

2.

The oil that I got a month ago, but has already won my heart and made me love it -

L "Oreal Elseve Extraordinary 6 oils

When I first tried this oil, applied it to my hair - I felt a charming aroma, oriental and mega-pleasant, it cannot be described in words, it is so thin and light.

What 6 oils are included in its composition?

Lotus Oil (nourishes and protects hair from the effects of external environment)
Chamomile Oil (returns radiance, softens)
Tiare flower oil (protects against dryness)
Nivyanik flower oil (gives hair vitality)
Rose oil (nourishes)
Flax seed oil (nourishes)

Of course, there are also chemicals and silicones in the composition, but this does not scare me in “non-washers”.

This oil compared to Garnier transformation is lighter, it gives me more moisture to my hair, it seems to me that this particular oil is intended more for hair that is healthier, rather natural color than colored ones. The oil came up to me, it doesn’t dry out my hair a bit and acts like a good silicone product that gives sleek hair and a cosmetic effect :)

After applying the oil, the hair becomes smooth (if the tips are fluffy, bristle in different directions, not because the haircut was a very long time ago) but because the hair structure is porous, prone to dryness), then this oil will help out a lot.

3

The indelible fluid, which was purchased in the winter of that year, became an outsider for me.

Hair fluid Kapous for split ends "Biotin Energy"

The fluid, according to the manufacturer's promises, was created specifically to improve the tips, it should save them from brittleness, dryness, brittleness - the promises, of course, are very tempting, and I bought into them.
Fluid Kapous Professional Biotin Energy allows you to quickly solve the problem of brittleness and split ends. It is this part of the hair that is most susceptible to negative external influences and most often needs additional nutrition. The product is based on a combination of three strong and effective ingredients - flax oil, biotin and UV filters.

Flax oil has excellent enveloping qualities, envelops each hair with the thinnest microfilm of amino acids and vitamins, as if sealing split ends, filling them with strength and smoothness. Biotin has a beneficial effect on the structure of the hair shaft, strengthens from the inside, promotes hydration and maintains optimal hydrobalance. UV filters prevent photoaging and solar insolation, protect strands throughout the day.

Perhaps the fluid did not suit me and my tips, but I did not notice a decrease in fragility with its use, probably because, most likely, I do not believe that a silicone product can get rid of the problem, only scissors can get rid of it, but such remedies will only help prevent splitting, brittleness and delamination of the tips when they are already spoiled, but this fluid is like a dead poultice.

It is also stated that the fluid is ideal for colored curls, I have them exactly like that at the tips, or rather highlighted, it remains a mystery why the fluid dries my ends with frequent use, I try to use it once every 2 weeks, but I think that's all I still can't get him.

4

Professional hair silk from Estel.

Estel Otium Diamond Liquid silk for hair»

This indelible product was presented to me, or rather, given away. I was hoping for a wow effect, because after all, the product is professional, and I always expect more from such products than they can give me, apparently. The first drawback of this silk is the smell - alcohol, I think only alcoholics will like it, and even then it is unlikely.

Estel Otium Diamond - Liquid silk for smooth and shiny hair (100 ml).
A light fluid with a D&M complex envelops each hair with the thinnest veil.
Does not weigh down the hair, provides a rich, iridescent, brilliant shine.
Mode of application:
- rub a few drops of liquid silk between your palms.
- Apply evenly to dry hair along the entire length.

The next drawback for me in it is stickiness. All my mass-market oil “non-washers” that I tried were light weightless, it’s a completely different texture, you have to rinse it off your hands after application, and rinse thoroughly if you don’t want to walk with sticky palms.

Despite all this, I hoped for a wow effect, I applied it to my hair a bunch of times - I gave it a lot of chances, over and over again without understanding its “wow effect”, I didn’t see a wow shine, not a wow light scratching, to be honest. I am glad that it does not dry the tips - and that's good, but I myself would not buy the product, and now I look with caution towards Estel.

❆Sprays❆

1

My Favorite Biphasic Serum

Moisturizing serum KAPOUS DUAL RENASCENCE 2 phase

If I was asked to leave only one "leave" of all, I would choose Kapous. It is this serum, because it is a miracle, and I adore it, like my hair.

After washing my long hair they get very confused, sometimes if the shampoo dries out especially slightly, and the mask I try didn’t suit me, or the hair didn’t have enough moisture. Combing my hair is not so easy, sprays always come to my aid, and Kapous is the absolute leader.

This is what my hair looks like after washing:

The combination of two phases is an excellent product for protecting, restoring and deeply moisturizing hair.
Due to the content of hydrolyzed keratin, which restores the cortex from the inside, and a combination of silicone oils that protect the hair fibers during high-temperature hair dryers, the hair regains elasticity, shine and softness lost as a result of chemical procedures (curling, bleaching, coloring) or from exposure to natural factors ( sea water, dust, sun, etc.).
Result: Serum protects hair from daily stress, facilitates combing and provides comprehensive care along the entire length.

Also, if the hair is tangled, and this often happens to me, then I spray this serum on them once and comb them easily. I am overjoyed with it and will definitely buy it again, I also want to try the hyaluronic series.

Also, after it, the hair is more obedient, easy to comb, smooth, even, shiny. Definitely a must-have!

Fluid hair conditioner Librederm Hyaluronic

Past this fluid, I beat around the bush in pharmacies, and thought whether it was worth trying it, but recently I could not resist and took it for a test, I was delighted.

Hyaluronic Fluid Conditioner LIBREDERM has a very gentle effect on the hair, providing intense hydration, silkiness and natural shine. Able to instantly detangle and restore hair from root to tip. Visibly improved after use appearance hair.

This fluid helps me both when combing my hair after washing (since I'm running out of Kapous) I also take it with me and spray it on the ends during the day, since it's winter, heating and hats - all this does not work very well on our hair. I now have this spray - an express tool for revitalizing the tips.

Librederm pacifies naughty ends, removes fluffiness, smoothes hair - and this is exactly what I expect from such products in the form of sprays, if I use them, this does not mean that I do not use oil “non-washers”, I combine these products.

I would also like to note that Librederm prevents the electrification of hair, since I recently started using herbs in powders in hair care, such as shikakai, tropholiatus, amla - they were originally purchased for hair roots, but after reading positive reviews, I wanted to experiment, and I I applied shikakai to the length, it dried my hair, this is a topic for a separate review, but here I want to say that my hair began to magnetize, and for the past 2 years they have not magnetized at all - it was this fluid that helped me overcome these naughty hairs, for which received another plus from me.

Hair Vital spray for dry, color-treated and damaged hair - review

Another one of my favorite sprays, to which I am ready to sing odes, this is a miracle cure if your hair is dry, porous, colored, if it lacks moisture - grab it and run, and I regret that I did not grab 2 bottles when I had the opportunity, now I can't find it for sale.

Contains silk proteins, extracts of honey and black walnut and effective hair care:

Restores damaged hair structure;
prevents the appearance of split ends;
returns hair vitality, softness and shine;
facilitates combing and styling hair.
Suitable for daily use.

For dry, colored and damaged hair

As soon as you apply this spray, you understand that it works and works with a bang. Hair becomes smooth, smooth, soft and silky, the comb simply glides over it. This spray can easily compete with Kapous. And I know for sure that I will buy it again and again and again!

I also really like that it does not stick my hair together, making it slightly heavier - I have Thin hair, therefore, I accept their weighting in moderation, of course.

I am already well acquainted with Hair Vital products, and none of their products disappointed me, I think I will buy and try again :)

❆DNC Solid Oil❆

I also purchased this oil a year ago in the winter, but I still could not love it. Reviews on it are very different, some like it, but some don’t, maybe this type of indelible product just doesn’t suit me, but at my own peril and risk, I’m now waiting for the ordered argan wax for tips from Spivak

The composition of this oil attracted me, it is natural, and it would seem - what can be found even better for nourishing and moisturizing the tips, but here is the catch, it does nothing and does not give anything, that's just what it smeared, what it didn't - also makes the ends dull, lifeless. I began to use this cuticle wax so as not to throw it away, but half of the jar is still there.

Sometimes I give the oil one more chance, trying new approaches to it, dancing around it with tambourines, but nothing comes out, either my hair does not accept such care, or give them silicones.

shea butter, beeswax, argan oil, mango butter, jojoba oil, Castor oil, macadamia oil, carrot oil, vitamin E

The texture of the oil resembles a butter, it reminds me of shea butter, and it’s no wonder - after all, it is in the 1st place in the composition, but applying shea butter to the tips in the form of a leave-in after washing, I wouldn’t guess for sure, it’s like a mask - it suits me only in combined with coconut, for example, perhaps for this reason I don’t particularly like solid butter.

I would really like to trace the positive dynamics, the effect on the hair from this product, but, alas, I did not find any special effects from this product, if only that the hair becomes sticky, glued and dull.

❆Avon Naturals Herbal "Nettle and Burdock" hair balm-spray nourishing ❆

I haven't bought Avon products in a long time, but I have some old stock from the old days. I liked this tool because it is a spray balm, I was interested in its texture, and I took it for a test. The most interesting thing is that I was not disappointed in the slightest - and the remedy is worthy.

There are no golden mountains in the promises, everything is modest and concise:

Formula with extracts of burdock and nettle strengthens hair and prevents breakage, restores hair structure, gives shine and smoothness

I like this spray - like a creamy “leave-in”, when applied to slightly damp hair after washing, the spray gives smoothness, obedience to the hair, at the expense of shine, this is not for this remedy, but I don’t demand it from him, for 99 rubles it’s it would be blasphemy.

The texture is thin, but it will pull on a creamy one, the spray is absorbed quickly, it makes the hair a little heavier, I like this effect.

I would like to conclude that leave-in products are very important in hair care, both oily, creamy, and sprays. I can no longer imagine my care without all these products, and even if there are always those products that do not live up to expectations, do not give a wow effect, only through trial and error you can find your own product that is perfect! :)

My hair currently looks like this:

Of course, there is still something to work on, which I'm doing :)

I wish you all beautiful and shiny hair in the new 2016!

It seems to many that leave-in hair products(serums, sprays, thermal protectors, etc.) - an extra hassle or that they are required only for those who style their hair every day with curling irons and irons. Let's figure it out.

Leave-in products are usually created to facilitate combing both wet and dry hair (reduce friction, and therefore prevent damage to the cuticle), there are also products for moisturizing and protecting hair (color fixation, heat protection). Among them, there are those that can penetrate deep into the hair and partially restore or “glue” it to prevent further destruction. Any leave-in product consists of the same ingredients as conditioners or hair masks (the difference is only in concentration), but at the same time, “leave-in” is much lighter in consistency.

What can these products really do for our hair?

Hydration and elasticity

Impact: moisturizing leave-in products are especially popular in summer and winter, when there is an acute shortage of moisture. They contain Various types moisturizing agents (fatty alcohols, aloe, light oils, vitamins, glycerin, etc.) that help attract and retain moisture. And since the product remains on the hair, the moisture level is maintained constantly, which makes the hair flexible and “strong”. Such products are especially good for people with curly and curly hair. They make curls "live" - "fluffiness" goes away, shine and "heaviness" appear.

Look on the label:
  • stearalkonium chloride, behentrimonium chloride, jojoba oil, shea butter, polyquartenium 70, sorbitol, fructose, glycerol, propylene glycol, panthenol, sodium PCA, aloe vera, PEG-12 dimethicone.
  • if you need curl fixation, look for PVP/VA.

Advice:
If you have dry and brittle hair, moisturizing formulations are suitable for restoring elasticity and shine. The main thing - in no case do not strive to "strengthen" them with proteins, this will lead to even greater fragility.

Hair structure restoration

Impact: restorative products, as a rule, contain a high percentage of vegetable oils, as well as keratin and ceramides. The hair cuticle consists of several layers, which are glued together by a lipid mass. Ceramides restore, if necessary, this lipid mass, while proteins (keratin) fill the cuticle from the outside.

Ceramides have a visible healing effect only on damaged hair (bleaching, perm), and if your hair is healthy, it won't get fixed and penetrate your hair. Therefore, such funds are needed only for people with weakened hair that have undergone chemical attack.

Look on the label:
hydrolyzed keratin, rice protein, soy protein, wheat protein, vegetable protein, animal protein, casein, amino acids, silk, oat flour, collagen, panthenol, hemp seed oil, wheat germ oil (any oils), 2-oleamido or 1- 3 octadecanedio (ceramide).

Advice:
If you have healthy hair, then the use of keratin leave-in will lead to "overload", the hair will appear dry, rough, brittleness will increase.

Bonding split ends

Impact: for split ends, as a rule, "gluing" means are created.

  1. The most effective of them - "gluers" - convert the drug solution into a solid gel (if you have seen how silica gel fills cracks in car windshields, you know what I'm talking about). Molecules penetrate into broken/problematic areas of keratin fibers and form cross-links, conditionally "bridges". During drying, as moisture evaporates, these bonds tighten, sealing the cuticle. It turns out that this is not just an “outside coating” that most conditioners and masks create, it is also the gluing of hair from the inside - molecules penetrate into all cracks.
Such funds can be found at L'Oreal, Kerastase, Garnier Fructis, Vichy Dercos. Nuance: manufacturers are cunning, saying that "gluing" preparations thicken the hair or give it volume - this is not so.
  2. Another strategy for dealing with split ends is silicones, which form a film on the outside of the hair. Here the hair looks smooth "before the first wash."
  3. Well, the last move - modified silicones, which are activated, for example, when exposed to high temperatures and create a durable coating.

Look on the label:

  • "gluers": aminopropyl triethoxysilane and PVM/MA copolymer + polyquaternium-28 technology (required 2 ingredients);
  • silicones: C11-13 isoparaffin (and) isohexadecane (and) dimethiconol (and) dimethicone;
  • modified silicones: cocoyl amino acids, potassium dimethicone PEG-7 panthenyl phosphate.

Thermal protection and shine

Impact:
products that give shine and “protect” from elevated temperatures are a very popular segment. Here, the primacy belongs to silicones and only to them, most often they are presented in the form of various sprays.

Thermal protectors work in three directions: they create a "buffer" layer that prevents contact between the heating element and the hair surface, reduce thermal conductivity and prevent thermal decomposition of the protein. A good thermal protector also prevents the effect of drying from exposure to high temperatures. Therefore, in addition to basic silicones or polymers, “moisture traps” are included to seal in water, as well as low molecular weight polymers that will enhance penetration and help prevent cuticle damage (for example, fatty alcohols or cationic surfactants).

With sprays for hair shine a little easier. They use silicones with a refractive index very close to hair, and this coating creates a "super shine".

Look on the label:

  • silicones for thermal protection- dimethicone, dimethiconol, amodimethicone, cyclomethicone or alternatively polydimethylsiloxane, cyclopentasiloxane & dimethiconol;
  • polymers for thermal protection- PVP/DMAPA acrylates copolymer, quaternium 70, 80; gloss products - phenyl trimethicone (and) dimethiconol, PEG/PPG-15/15 dimethicone, aminopropyl phenyl trimethicone;
  • cationic surfactants - cetrimonium chloride;
  • moisture traps - glycerine, propylene glycol, panthenol;
  • fatty alcohols - cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol.

Leave-in products are best applied to semi-dry hair. If it is a cream texture, measure out a small amount, the size of a two-ruble coin (the shorter the hair, the less you need), distribute in your hands and process the strands, starting from the middle, without touching the roots (this way you will avoid the effect of "dirty" hair) . If you're using silicone heat protection sprays, you'll want to use a detergent shampoo at least once a week to rinse your hair well and remove buildup.

When choosing leave-in products, it is very important to understand what exactly you want to get in the end: restoring or protecting hair, helping with styling, smoothing or simply emphasizing the structure of the hair - different “leave-in” products can do all this and even more. I hope after my article it will be easier for you to make a choice.
