Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese style. Dita Von Teese

(Eng. Dita von Teese; born September 28, 1972, Rochester, USA) - famous American burlesque dancer and actress. Her real name is Heather Renée Sweet. She is also a certified costume designer and an author of books.

Early years

Dita Von Teese (real name - Heather Rene Sweet) was born on September 28, 1972 in Rochester, USA; the middle of three daughters in the family. Her mother worked as a manicurist and her father worked as a machinist for a graphite company. Dita has Armenian roots.

It is known that Dita Von Teese has a passion for cinema and the style of the 1940s. It is on this that her image as a dancer and model is based. The hobby began at an early age, and Dita's mother contributed to it. She bought the girl outfits in retro style, as she herself was fond of old cinema.

Also With early age Dita did ballet. Already at the age of 13, she danced solo numbers at the local theater. Despite the fact that Dita dreamed of becoming a ballerina, according to her own statements, at the age of 15 she had already achieved the best that she was capable of. However, the girl applied her dancing skills later, when she devoted herself to dancing in the style of burlesque. In her numbers, Dita often dances in pointe shoes.

When the company where Dita's father worked changed location, the family moved from Michigan to Orange County, California. There, Dita attended Irvine University High School.

IN adolescence Dita's mother took her to a lingerie store to buy her first bra. The bra, given by her mother, was made of plain cotton, and in addition to it, the girl received two plastic eggs with wrinkled flesh-colored tights inside. As Dita herself says, she was very upset about this, because she hoped to get the beautiful lingerie that she saw on the girls from Playboy magazine. Passion for him has become the fundamental style of Dita. At the age of 15, she worked in a lingerie store, where she rose from the position of a seller to.

In college, Von Teese studied costume history and aspired to work as a film costume designer. On this moment Dita Von Teese is a skilled costume designer and stylist of her own.

“No, it was not at all difficult for me to come up with a photo shoot - after all, this is how I look every day, including at home.”

“One of the reasons why I decided to develop my own image is that for me those types that are usually shown as sex symbols of our culture are unacceptable. I have never been fascinated by natural beauty, and I did not feel that I could be attractive without makeup. And no matter what I do, I'm not going to be like girls like Gisele Bundchen. Never! I like to fantasize and use glamor as my own way of being sexy."

Career

Fetish and glamor

Von Teese has achieved a certain level of recognition in the fetish field. For many years of wearing a narrow, she has achieved a reduction in the volume of her waist to 56 centimeters. In a corset, her waist can be pulled up to 42 centimeters. At the moment, Dita's height is 165 centimeters, and her weight is 52 kilograms.

Dita Von Teese has appeared on the cover of a number of fetish magazines, including Bizarre and Marquis. Also, her photograph graced the cover of Midori's book The Art of Seducing the Japanese Bandage. In 1999, 2000 and 2002, the model starred for Playboy magazine, in 2002 Dita appeared on its cover.

German metal band Atrocity chose Dita Von Teese as their cover model for their album in 2008.

Burlesque

Passion for open and seductive lace lingerie led Dita (at that time - Heather) to the fact that at the age of 18 she got into the dancers of the Captain Cream strip club. Heather quickly noticed that all the other girls have absolutely no personality, and all their numbers are too faded and the same type. She armed herself with her favorite lingerie sets, complementing them with lace gloves, graces, corsets, luxurious and garters, feathers and other decorative details and created a unique one that distinguished her from others.

“What I love about costumes is the power of transformation they have. Here I am sitting naked, hair in curlers, then I put on shoes and stockings. And now everything is put on and buttoned up, and I suddenly appear completely different and say: “It's time to go out!” I often joke that what I lack in talent I make up for in costumes!”

In addition, she came up with a stage name for herself, which later became her full name. Heather has always liked surnames with the prefix "fon". She chose the name Dita (borrowed from the actress Dita Parlo, whom she admires) and the comic surname Teese, which sounds like the English word "tease" ("teasing"). So she became Dita Von Teese and began working in the burlesque style that made her famous.

"Don't relax! Even when I'm alone at home before going to bed, I undress like real queen. I take off my stockings like I'm on stage and hundreds of people are watching me."

This dance direction brought Dita Von Teese immense popularity. In the press, the girl is known precisely as the "queen of burlesque." She began performing in the genre in 1992 and helped revive and popularize it. In her own words, she "returned temptation to striptease." The complex and long dance shows, which included a lot of props, were inspired by musicals and films of the 1930s and 1940s. Some of the more famous dances feature horse carousels, a giant powder box and a real bathtub with a working shower. A feather fan from her dance, inspired by burlesque dancer Sally Rand, is now on display at the Hollywood Museum of Sex. Dita Von Teese's signature show is a dance in a huge Martini glass.

“Burlesque is my first love. And to be honest, it's really important to me that people know that striptease has a great history. And I would never change the choice I made once in my life.

Dita Von Teese's burlesque career includes some particularly memorable performances. One day, the dancer showed up at the Hollywood Academy of the Arts wearing a $5 million diamond-encrusted costume. In addition, Dita became the first guest celebrity to perform at the Crazy Horse Cabaret in Paris in 2006.

“In my opinion, Paris is a city that knows how to appreciate its dancers, and I think it's time for me to raise the bar. In addition, the Crazy Horse cabaret itself has always attracted me - ever since I was a teenager.

In the same year, Von Teese appeared on the 7th season of the American show with a training program for the participants aimed at seduction through burlesque. In 2007, the dancer performed with the Italian rock noir band Belladonna at the London adult festival Erotica 07.

In addition, in 2009, Dita Von Teese performed at international competition Eurovision in Moscow. She appeared on stage as part of a German group. Dita later admitted that her performance was censored due to the fact that the dancer's chest was too open.

Film career and filming in video clips

In addition to the modeling and dancing career of Dita Von Teese, her appearance on the silver screen can also be noted. Early in her career, she appeared in fetish and porn films such as Romancing Sara (1995) and Matter of Trust (1997), where she acted under the name Heather Sweet. Dita also took part in the filming of two pornographic films by Andrew Blake: Pin Ups 2 (1999) and Decadence (2000).

IN last years Dita starred in mainstream films. For example, in 2005, she starred in the short film The Death of Salvador Dali, which received several awards at various film festivals, including the award for Best Actress for Von Teese. In 2007, Dita starred in the films Saint Francis and The Boom Boom Room.

In addition to this, the girl participated in the filming of several video clips, including the video "Redundant" by Green Day and "Zip Gun Bop" by the Royal Crown Revue, a brand video filmed for a cover version of the Joy Division song "She's Lost Control" and in Marilyn Manson video for the song "Mobscene". Dita also appeared in a George Michael concert video, where she danced to the song "Feelin' Good".

However, Dita herself admitted that acting is not the main thing for her. She prefers to play only those roles that she feels:

“I don’t understand why women, as soon as they become famous, tend to act in films. Personally, I consider roles that are aesthetically correct for me."

In early 2011, Dita played herself in an episode of CSI: "A Kiss Before Frying", however her name was changed to Rita von Squeeze.

Dita Von Teese is a frequent guest on fashion shows, for example, and , where she always sits in the front rows. The clothes of these labels were seen on the girl more than once. The name of Dita Von Teese can often be seen in the tops of the "Best Dressed Celebrities".

“I like black because it brings attention to the face, but in general I wear all colors. I really like the shades precious stones, For example. I also often choose colors that go with my red nails and red lipstick."

Several times Dita herself appeared on. In 2004, she walked in the Heatherette fashion show as part of Los Angeles Fashion Week. In 2005, von Teese also appeared in the Paris show of the autumn-winter collection (Giambattista Valli) - the designer of the Ungaro brand. In addition to this, Dita has participated in several advertising campaigns. These include campaigns by British label Vivienne Westwood (Spring/Summer 2005) and Australian label Wheels and Dollbaby (Spring/Summer 2006 and Spring/Summer 2007). She appeared on the covers of fashion magazines such as Tatler, Elle and many others.

Dita was also one of the celebrities who became the face of the MAC cosmetics brand and their Viva Glam collection (lipsticks and glosses, all proceeds from which are transferred to the AIDS Foundation, and are also used to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS).

Together with Wonderbra, Dita Von Teese has already released two collections of underwear. The third collection is being prepared for presentation in 2012. In addition, the model collaborated with the Italian fashion Moschino, with whom she released a line of sleep masks. Lines of underwear from Dita Von Teese are also offered by the Australian brand Target. Her collection titled "Von Follies by Dita Von" is being prepared for presentation on March 10, 2012.

In October 2011, Von Teese launched her first perfume, Femme Totale.

“Men love not only with their eyes, but also with their nose. It is important not only to choose the right perfume, but also to show a sense of proportion. It should only smell when it leans towards you."

In the same month, Dita presented a collection of dresses called "Muse". It features retro dresses and layered dresses entirely designed by her. This collection was presented exclusively in Australia by designer David Jones.

In 2011, Dita also took part in the filming of a video advertising new model Renault car. In addition to Dita, singer Rihanna (Rihanna) and football player Thierry Henry (Thierry Henry) starred in advertising. A series of commercials was launched on the air on February 7, 2011.

Musical activities

In March 2009, it became known that Dita Von Teese had begun recording her debut album. The model signed a contract with the record label Interscope in Europe.

“Soon you will realize that I can not only dance, but also sing”,

Dita commented on the news.

Books

Dita Von Teese's first book, Burlesque and the Art of the Teese/Fetish and the Art of the Teese, was released in 2006. In it, Dita expresses her own opinion about the origin of fetish and burlesque, and also tells the history of these art genres. Then Vanity Fair magazine called her the "Superheroine of Burlesque."

In December 2009, the second book of the model, “Dita. StripTeese. ”, dedicated to beauty, self-care and the secrets of her dance. In this book, Dita leads step by step descriptions their preparations for social events, filming, presentations, shows. The book includes advice on makeup, hair, body care.

“I want to tell you how from a blonde, an ordinary girl from a small Michigan town, I suddenly turned into a real phenomenon in the world of glamour, into a phenomenon that, frankly, has never existed before. How to become different, how to create yourself!”

Burlesque Queen Beauty Rules

Dita Von Teese willingly shows off her skin (“My nudity is my stage costume,” she says): you can easily notice that both on the face and on the body it is the same amazing matte milky shade. The main effect, of course, is achieved with the help of contrast: the gray-eyed blonde deliberately chose dark hair. However, this would not be enough: it is important to properly store the gift of nature. It is definitely not a matter of cosmetic camouflage - everyone who saw Dita up close notes the natural beauty and flawlessness of her skin. Of course, she uses powder and makeup, but not to hide flaws.

“I am not going to spend hundreds of dollars on a salon where they will do everything that I can do myself, and besides, with love. Makeup: concealer, powder, mascara and lipstick. Styling: chignon. The whole procedure takes no more than 10 minutes. The main thing is to get your hands on it."

Dita Von Teese's first rule: balanced moderate diet. She has long and completely abandoned high-calorie foods, including sweets, and eats only boiled meat and steamed fish. No fast food, no small snacks: Dita eats several times a day in small portions and drinks a lot of non-carbonated water. Proper nutrition Drinking plenty of water helps to eliminate waste and toxins from the body in a timely manner.

“I’m not just a big“ diet addict ”, I eat, for example, quite a lot of fish and chicken. It’s hard to eat right when you travel a lot, but I try.”

“Somehow I went to a nutritionist and asked: “What should I do? My shows are at night, I really want to eat after them! But before going to bed you can’t! ” He told me that this opinion is already outdated. The main thing is what is. In general, I was very happy about this wonderful news!”

The second rule of Dita Von Teese: regular non-extreme loads. For many years, Dita swims in the pool at least an hour a day and does yoga and Pilates alone. Fitness, like any other public sport, she does not practice and even criticizes: in her opinion, dialogue with one's own body is what a person should do alone with himself. Dita denies rumors that she uses the recipe, and every day she lies in a bath with crushed ice - according to von Teese, this is unpleasant. Systematic soft and comfortable loads allow you to avoid stress, stay in shape and keep your skin toned.

“Work on yourself, sparing no effort. My wasp waist, for example, is the result of exhausting daily Pilates, yoga, ballet, and a strict diet. Sometimes I flip through a magazine and see some stunningly beautiful actress who claims to eat pizza every day and doesn't bother at all about how she looks. It's all nonsense. I don’t understand why in our time it has become so embarrassing to admit that you are working on yourself, trying to look better.

The third rule of Dita Von Teese: the sun is the enemy of girls. Frau von Teese very rarely leaves the house during daylight hours, and if she has to do this, she always takes a large one with her and applies a cream to the exposed areas of the body that blocks the sun's rays with a factor SPF protection 50. Not only does this keep you dazzlingly white, but it also minimizes the risk of skin cancer.

The fourth rule of Dita Von Teese: lots of sleep. She never stays for after-night parties and all sorts of after-parties.

“If there is an opportunity to go home and go to bed, I will use it,”

- says the star of the elite striptease.

A sufficient amount of rest allows the recovery processes in the epidermis to go through a full cycle, prevents the appearance of edema and dark circles under the eyes.

Dita Von Teese's Fifth Rule: do not try to deal with skin problems on your own or wait until they pass by themselves - contact a dermatologist immediately. Dita has long and faithfully visited the same Hollywood specialist, whose name, however, was not disclosed. The doctor knows the features of her skin well and accurately selects the treatment if necessary. The star knows: trying to fix the skin in order with their own modest efforts can turn into even more problems:

"I think it's better to spend money on a dermatologist than to buy 10 "magic" creams a year, which are also ineffective."

Hobbies

The personal life of Dita Von Teese takes place between Hollywood and Paris.

She collects antique Chinese porcelain, in particular egg cups and tea sets. In addition, the girl has a passion for corsets, beautiful lingerie, cocktail shakers and ballet pointe shoes.

Dita owns several expensive cars. These are a 1938 Packard One Twenty Eight, a 1946 Ford Super De Luxe, a 1965 Jaguar S-Type, and a BMW Z4. She also owned a 1939 Chrysler New Yorker from 2007 to 2010.

As you know, from 2005 to 2007, Dita Von Teese was married to Marilyn Manson. Prior to this marriage, she dated Social Distortion band member Mike Ness and actor Peter Sarsgaard.

At the moment, the girl is in a relationship with the French aristocrat Louis-Marie de Castelbajac (Louis-Marie de Castelbajac).

Dita Von Teese also admitted that at the age of 20 she had a homosexual experience, which included serious relationship With a woman.

Von Teese speaks openly about her plastic surgery: the model has enlarged her breasts, and also made a tattoo in the form of a mole on her cheekbone.

“It's no secret that I have increased the bust. When I was a teenager, I had quite big breasts, and I had a period in my life when I went to parties and took drugs. Three years later, I was as thin as a skeleton and looked very bad. I almost gave up. I became forgetful, could hardly remember something and concentrate. Suddenly I lost my luxurious breasts that I had.

Relationship with Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson has long been a fan of Dita Von Teese and was even a member of her fan club on the official website. They first met at one of the social events, then Manson invited von Teese to participate in the filming of his music video. Since at that moment Dita did not have such an opportunity, they exchanged contacts and kept in touch.

“I was dressed to the nines: in a luxurious hat with a bird, long gloves, a suit and a veil, and he constantly followed me. Feeling his eyes on me, I turned and asked, “Is there anything I can help you with?”

Dita Von Teese arrived at a party in honor of Marilyn's 32nd birthday with a bottle of absinthe, after which they declared themselves a couple. On March 22, 2004, Marilyn Manson proposed to Dita Von Teese and presented a 1930 ring with a round European cut diamond. The couple's marriage ceremony took place on November 28, 2005 as a private social event.

The grand wedding ceremony took place on December 3, 2005 at Gurteen Castle, owned by their friend Gottfried Helnwein, located in Kilshealan, Ireland. The wedding was directed by surrealist and comic book writer Alejandro Jodorowsky. Now luxurious lilac Wedding Dress Dita Von Teese, made by British, participates in the traveling exhibition of the V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum - Museum of London).

On December 29, 2006, Von Teese filed for divorce from Manson, citing "irreconcilable differences". She left their house empty-handed on Christmas Eve without even informing Manson of her intention to end the marriage. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Von Teese says:

“I don't support his party ideas or his relationships with other girls. As much as I love it, I'm not going to be a part of it."

Von Teese also stated that she gave Manson an ultimatum, but it didn't work.

"Instead of making concessions to me, he made me an enemy"

she admitted.

Von Teese did not require financial support from ex-husband and, apparently, was not interested in his assets. On January 5, 2007, on his birthday, Marilym Manson signed the divorce papers.

“I remade the diamond I got for engagement into a magnificent ring in the workshop Christian Dior in Paris. It is beautiful and big. It seemed to me that I was suffering a lot because of this diamond, and he needed a rebirth in order to become better. But the most extravagant act after the divorce, when I moved out from my ex-husband, was that I ordered myself a pink electric stove and refrigerator in the style of the 50s.

Interview with Chris Urankar (Nine to Five Online Edition)

Chris Urankar (CW): When did your passion for lace, luxury and other splendor first manifest itself?

Dita Von Teese (DFT): Well, I wanted to be a ballerina when I was a little girl. I think they played some role in it. ballet costumes and theatrical makeup. In addition, I became obsessed with beautiful lingerie, not just its appearance, I perceived it as a rite of passage into women. I was constantly rummaging through my mother's linen drawer and dreaming of the day when I could finally wear these things! Therefore, for me, lingerie is just a way of seduction, it is part of the art of being a woman.

KU: In your photo shoots, you often imitate the "Queen of the Curves" Bettie Page. What made her your source of inspiration?

DFT: Yes, Bettie Page is one of my biggest inspirations. But people often get confused, because I usually say that my main glamor idol is Betty Grable. It confuses fans. I think it was because she was blonde and I was brunette. Therefore, it is much more logical for many to consider Paige as my idol. But, you know, it's not about hair color, it's about spirit. I am inspired by the most different women but I never imitated any particular personality. My image and my style is a compilation of inspiration from many things plus decades of my own evolution. Bettie Page was a huge inspiration to me as a 90s fetish model because I think she brought something light and playfully sensual to the dark world of fetishism. But Betty was never a burlesque or showgirl star. But many people associate it with burlesque. This is a complete misrepresentation of her. At the time when she was a pin-up model, the era of burlesque had already ended, and Betty never appeared on stage as a striptease star. So my inspiration comes from burlesque and showgirl stars like Betty Grable played in the 1940s. Her films have really been the biggest inspiration for me!

KU: How did you feel when Vanity Fair once called you the "Superheroine of Burlesque"?DFT: At that moment, I felt that I had a significant reputation, and this motivated me to work harder on myself as an artist. I wanted to stage and show even more grandiose burlesque shows! It made me evolve rather than sit and pat myself on the back. KU: In an interview with the British Telegraph, you said that you don't understand why most women, once they become famous, want to act in films. What about you? What roles attract you?

DFT: I meant that acting is, of course, good, and I act in films when I feel that the role really suits me. But this is not such an important occupation for me, if compared with striptease and my burlesque productions. I will say more, I do not pretend to be a movie star at all. I prefer to be famous in the field of striptease, like my idols Rose Lee and Lily St. Cyr. But this is what I feel. I love what I do, I love to think about the concept of the show and direct it, and acting does not give me the creative space that I need. Maybe this means that I will always be known much less than the stars and movies and TV shows, pop stars ... But I don't care. I am very happy to be myself and do what I do best! I would like more people to enjoy doing what they do best rather than trying to be someone under someone else's pressure. However, if everything matches correctly in the future, then maybe I will develop in other directions. But now my main goal is to do my shows and change the way people think about striptease.

KU:Can you describe your approach to red carpet dressing? You are on the lists of the most well-dressed celebrities, you have a taste for ...

DFT: I do not use the services of stylists, I choose all my outfits for the red carpet myself. I even do my own hair and makeup. This is all part of me, it allows me to realize who I am and where I am at the moment. I love the sense of independence that this independence gives me, and I love the fact that I myself do the work of an entire team of stylists. Being the only celebrity who does everything herself and at the same time is on the lists of the best dressed stars - it brings me complete satisfaction! And I think it's very important to show other women that they can look great without anyone's help. In my opinion, the key to impeccable individual style is independence. I never pay attention to statements. According to the press, sometimes I am dressed better, and sometimes worse. I consider mine own feeling style and think that if something seems right to me, then it is right!

KU: Are you sure that you have never resorted to the services of a stylist? Maybe yes, for once?

DFT: One day I trusted my intuition and called a stylist to my house to help me complete my vintage collection. I remember she took a pair of wonderful vintage ones and said, “They look so cute with jeans!”. And then I realized that she didn’t know anything about me (I don’t even have a single pair of jeans) and decided that it would be better to be alone with my personal style than someone to tell me what is right and what is wrong and impose your tastes. The most famous women in fashion are not subject to the moment, they can be different and have a style that does not change from season to season, but evolves. My approach is to wear things that I feel good in and not pay attention to. I love things that revolve around my favorite eras. I can enjoy someone else's style, but I don't have to dress the same way.

KU: Tell me frankly, how long does it take you to be ready to leave the house?

DFT: It depends on what I'm doing. For example ... for the carpet? Two hours is enough for me. I need time to decide on clothes, fix my hair and do my hair, send a message, change the music on the player ... I should not feel rushed. But I definitely don't spend more than 30 minutes getting ready on a typical day. My usual everyday look is a light foundation, lipstick, mascara and chignon in hair. I can handle it all in 15 minutes. And the finished evening look will take me about 40 minutes. We specifically timed the time when I was writing my book about beauty. I curled my hair in 13 minutes! So I don't spend as much time as it might seem. I just trained really well. I've been wearing the same hair and makeup since 1992!

KU: Do you ever get tired of constantly painting your blonde hair in dark color? Will we ever see Dita Von Teese blonde?

DFT: I saw and remember myself as a blonde. And someday I will be her again, but not now. There are too many blondes around now. I love mine blue-black hair and I think I represent dark-haired femme fatales, not blond sex bombs. There are so many tanned blondes around, and I will be a light-skinned brunette!

KU: You are an experienced traveler. Tell me, which city of all where you were, you can call the sexiest and why?

DFT: No matter where I go or what I see, Paris still tops my list of the sexiest cities in the world.

KU: How did your collaboration with Cointreau and their liquor start?

DFT: Well, I always knew that I would eventually unite with the spirit of this brand. It was all predictable and logical, because everyone knows how much I love to swim with a giant cocktail glass. I received offers from many brands, but Cointreau was the only one whose philosophy I felt and who agreed with my vision of sexuality. I liked all the ideas that they offered me as a face of the company, as well as their attitude to the incredible history of the brand and the elegant style of or with a modern approach. This is also my approach to burlesque. This is awareness and loyalty to the era.

KU: Can you describe your show "Be Cointreauversial"? What can viewers expect from him?

DFT: It's still the same Martini glass that made me famous, but which I reinvented for Cointreau! We wanted to do something inspired by the classic Cointreau bottle, play with this delightful shade of amber, add touches of orange, gold and some purple. We even did a study, watching how the liqueur takes on this wonderful opal color when it is poured over ice. And we added crystals to the composition! We also wanted the look to be distinctly French, so the suit looks like a real Folies Berger from the 60s. This is definitely the most elaborate costume I have ever worn, with hundreds of thousands of multi-colored faceted Swarovski crystals and these amazing designer feathers from Belgium. I even remade the classic French anthem into music for my striptease!

KU: Reveal a few secrets to becoming a burlesque goddess at home?

DFT: 1. Find time for yourself. It doesn't have to be expensive at all. A candlelit bath with aromatic oils and foam is one example of inexpensive body care.

2.Try on new hairstyle or makeup. Play and fantasize! Perhaps you will find your new one or just have a great time.

3. Buy lingerie that is both sexy and comfortable at the same time. This is quite possible these days, so discard the stereotypes that comfort is always boring. Lots of brands make amazing pieces that can be worn every day.

4. Don't save your pretty date lingerie, wear it, wear it just for yourself!

5. Learn how to make sumptuous cocktails at home. I love making Quanthropolitan and Margarita. It's easy, fun and impresses others!

Dita Von Teese for VON FOLLIES TARGET TV AD (Australia)

Dita Von Teese in Cointreau advertising campaigns over the years

Dita's career began at 19 when she was a shy and unassuming blonde named Heather Sweet from a small farming community in Michigan. She was fond of old films and loved to imitate the stars from the screen. In later interviews, she said that she grew up dreaming of being a ballerina, but was not good enough to succeed in this. So it was her flaws that led her to burlesque. What Heather lacked in natural beauty, which nature gave, made me look at things differently and understand how to make them beautiful.

One day she was invited to a strip club where her friends worked. Not undressing, but dancing in a bikini. Sweet was so captivated by the sight that she soon began working in this club and immediately realized that she felt like a fish in water. She began to use her emerging eccentricity as a weapon. Red lipstick, heels, hats and leather gloves - best description fatal beauty.

The new alias turned out a little by mistake. One day, Heather was watching a movie with an actress named "Dita Parlo" and thought it was a great name for the scene. A few years later, when the girl joined the Playboy club, she was told to choose a suitable surname. Then she just opened the phone book and started looking for interesting surnames that start in the background to sound exotic and glamorous. She chose "Von Treese", but the magazine was misprinted. And so it turned out "von Teese", consonant with "tease" - to tease.

At first, the main fans were men, but by 2000, her fans suddenly changed to women and members of the LGBT community. The presentation of Dita's first book, Burlesque and the Art of Seduction, was attended by 2,000 people. Mostly women dressed in vintage style.

How to show yourself

On stage, she controls everything from how the light will illuminate her breasts, to make-up on the body; what kind of Swarovski crystals and feathers will be present in the outfit and many other special tricks that create the illusion of otherworldly perfection. Showing herself to one person, she feels vulnerable:

I control everything everyone sees. This is absolutely not the same as undressing in front of a lover.

The smaller the audience, the more difficult. The dancer mentioned many times that she takes energy for her performances from the hall, which should be close enough. Sometimes Dita worried about the fact that there was a “real” star in the hall, for example Kylie Minogue: what could she think of her, a bad dancer?

How not to get old

Today, Dita Von Teese is 45 years old, but she still puts on stunning shows, starred in music videos and even plays in movies.

I enjoy spending time with older women who feel sexy. I respect them and am ready to listen to any wisdom they want to give me. I recently had lunch with Mammy Van Doren, an actress and famous pin-up girl in the 50s. At 86, she is still a sensual woman, just as much as she was at 19.

When people make remarks about age, I think it's not normal. What's the alternative? Die Young? Would you ask me this if I were a man? You wonder if I'm afraid of getting old. Yes. We are all afraid.

Confidence = beauty

She does not consider herself an exhibitionist: taking off her clothes does not give sexual thrills, and she rarely appears on the red carpet in a short or open dress.

The diva does not like salons and dyes her hair black with regular hair dye for $10. She sees a dermatologist regularly but does not use Botox and laser procedures. At night, Dita puts on a little retinol because her skin is quite sensitive, and during the day she is careful to ensure that all skin is covered with sunscreen.

The paparazzi know that even for groceries in the supermarket, she always goes out with perfect makeup and neat hair - you never know who you might run into. On ordinary days without photo shoots, she prefers red lips and light cat-like arrows, which takes her no more than 10 minutes. And to style curls with hot curlers - 12 minutes. “The more practice, the better you get,” says Dita.

Confidence is the most important part of beauty.

Her famous mole is a tattoo she got at the age of 21. When she went to the master, she thought about how to draw a heart or a star, but the guy dissuaded her and put only a neat point.

The burlesque star is always careful about cleansing her skin and claims that she has never slept with makeup in her life, which is very harmful to your skin. Sure, it's awkward when you spend the night with a guy, but they're usually ready to see you without any eyeliner.

I would never let my husband see me dye my hair. Except my ex-husband, because I dyed his hair too. We could have hair coloring parties!

How to seduce a man

The dancer does not hide the techniques that she uses, and sets them out in detail in her book The Art of Seduction:

If you think a lot about how to seduce a person, this is already a failure. To seduce, you need to make them want to know more about you, to be a part of your world. And if you try to please someone, you fail. Think about yourself and how you show yourself to the world. I believe in wearing beautiful lingerie every day. It doesn't take up much time in your day - it's a small way to bring beauty into everyday life.

Dita admits that the best medicine for cellulite, which she found - subdued lighting, and also recommends using very little perfume. To smell your fragrance, a man must lean very close to you.

Do you want to attract attention in the company? Pretend to have sprained your leg and bend over a little to inspect the heel. A man will certainly want to help you and hold your hand.

Permissible Weaknesses

Dita can't resist tacos! And often she pleases herself with burgers after the show. She usually follows a vegan diet and doesn't eat after 6pm, so she can be self-indulgent at times. She is not a vegan, but loves good restaurants and finds she has more energy when she doesn't eat meat.

Burlesque vs feminism

Dita has repeatedly stressed that she often listens to claims from the fem movement for what they consider burlesque and high heels to be the objectification of women. What you should pay attention to: in 2017, 80% of her audience are women, and the rest are their companions.

What you see is my obsessions coming alive on stage, my sexual fantasies, and they don't have to be politically correct.

Von Teese denied that she was doing burlesque for the sake of men. She puts on a show because she likes to wear flashy makeup and rhinestone costumes. In addition, Dita's idols have always been not Victoria's Secret models at all, but Betty Grable and who talk a lot about the art of creating a good show.

Dita Von Teese hurries home from a Christmas party held at the Playboy Club (London, England) in early December last year. The luxurious burlesque star did not flaunt all her charms, but elegantly bared only her legs. Despite the subtext of the party, which brought together the most curvy and outspoken celebrities, Dita wore a very modest black and pink lace dress and pretty satin shoes from Christian Louboutin. She looked truly feminine and sexy that evening, emphasizing a wasp waist. Thanks to Dita, I was once again convinced that sexuality comes from within and it does not matter at all what you are wearing ... Clothing is an entourage.

Dita is photographed sitting in the car and leaving the event. The figure in her 39 years is magnificent, her legs are gorgeous!

Dita leaves Gourmet Oaks Cafe in Los Angeles. The image of the "black widow" is not for everyone, but among these "all" there is no name Dita von Teese. She perfectly presents everything that is worn on her perfect body, and even such a frankly unremarkable dress looks like a glove on her.

The tights are great! The arrow on the back is quite "spicy" ...

Noticing the paparazzi, Dita smiles sweetly and goes about her business, leaving a parked Cadillac behind her. In Los Angeles, Dita looks more restrained than usual, but classic curls and permanent red lipstick are always with her. In a vintage look that combines stylish high-waisted capri pants with a black jumper, she looks very concise and stylish. The bow is successfully complemented by cat-eye glasses that are fashionable today, as well as a handbag (presumably Birkin). Dita has found her own style and there is no one that could overshadow her modernized image of the 20s.

Dita on a walk in France. The image is simple and one might even say not in the style of Dita Von Teese, but it’s cold outside and warming up for the sake of your own health is certainly necessary. Classic black coat combined with rubber boots does not look ridiculous, there is no dissonance, although rubber boots, which are now in trends, I do not really like. This image is really good. Chanel shoulder bag the best decoration, which only Teese could pick up for this image.

From head to toe in red, Dita Von Teese flaunts in West Hollywood. She, of course, is a magical woman who should have been born not now, but much earlier (I think a century or two ago she would have been a style icon), but this outfit confused me a little. I don't like it when everyone wears the same color scheme. Maybe I'm nitpicking, but it would be worth diluting the scarlet atmosphere with black accessories or other details. But her cars are always cool!

Pay attention to the shoes!

Dita and Theo Hutchcraft, with whom she is actively credited with a romantic relationship, leave the restaurant. Kelly Osbourne was also in the company with them, but she did not get into the lens. Dita and Theo would make a colorful couple, but he is 14 years younger than her, and this is a significant age difference. Be that as it may, men change, and von Teese remains as luxurious as ever. For dinner in a restaurant, she chose a gray dress with bare shoulders, put on black leather gloves, picked up a large clutch, and again paid tribute to Christian Louboutin and preferred his studded creation to all shoes. A stunning image of a mature, self-confident lady.

PR or not?

Dita with friends at the Coachella festival. In a juicy dress with a cherry print, Dita looks good, free and somehow unusual, because in most cases she chooses strict but feminine dresses. Coachella affects everyone present, and therefore Dita changed herself a little. I don't really like round glasses, but Dita is such a woman that almost everything suits her. White skin Perfectly contrasts with the black details of the wardrobe.

How to wear an ordinary sweater every day and look completely new

Did you know that your favorite jumper can be not only a warm part of the image, but also a trendy accessory? This season it is fashionable to wear a sweater on the shoulders, tying its sleeves around the neck. This fashionable technique was willingly demonstrated by the participants of all street style shows at Fashion Weeks. But just tying a jumper instead of a scarf is not enough, you need to know a few trend tricks. Find out about the most popular ways to wear a sweater this year right now.

With a different sweater

You can stylishly warm up on cool spring days with the help of a second jumper.

Throw it over your shoulders right over the sweater and secure the sleeves to your chest. You can move the knot to one shoulder - the main thing is not to tie the jumper tightly. A layered relaxed look looks cooler with the same sweaters - the pattern and shade may vary slightly.

Over the blouse

A simple office shirt or a laconic blouse can be worn with a bright jumper - this technique will dilute a discreet outfit. But instead of wearing a sweater, just cover your shoulders with it. Add asymmetry - lower one sleeve to the belt and fix the jumper on the chest. To make the image really fashionable, choose a sweater in juicy tones - you can look at the current seasonal palette of shades at the Pantone Institute.

over the jacket

Boasting a cool jumper will not work if it is hidden under the jacket all the time. It's too early to go wide open, but you can always pull the sweater out. Simply wear your favorite jumper over your jacket or coat like a scarf and secure the sleeves securely.

With a dress

A sweater as a scarf can even be worn with a dress. A knitted jumper will add comfort and simplicity to a feminine outfit with heels. A sweater thrown over a romantic dress will make your look fragile and incredibly sophisticated. It is better to choose a jumper to match the outfit or accessories.

With everyday looks, a scarf sweater looks even cooler. It gives the outfits carelessness and audacity. And if you tie a sweater on your belt, you will be transported to the era of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s.

Today we are discussing Dita Von Teese - American singer, fashion model, burlesque performer. Hollywood film star, socialite always looks great. She has turned her whole life into a service to style and, unlike many stars, she dresses stylishly not only for going out on the red carpet, but also for a simple shopping trip.

Dita Von Teese Street Style

The actress is very sensitive to her appearance. The natural blonde about 20 years ago radically changed her style, after which her hair turned black, like a raven's wing, and all outfits are now selected very carefully, the main preference is given to the style of the 40s and 50s.

celebrity has non-standard figure, she has a gorgeous figure, and her waist is considered one of the thinnest in the world: in a corset, her circumference is only 42 centimeters! Dita skillfully uses this advantage, constantly emphasizing the elegance of her figure. Her body type is an hourglass, which means that she can afford almost any outfit.

The actress is a big fan of feminine style, and therefore her wardrobe is filled with skirts and dresses. Even for a simple trip to the store, the actress chooses beautiful retro dresses and suits with skirts.

It is worth noting that the burlesque performer loves floral prints and rich colors that harmonize very well with her porcelain skin.

A thin waist is one of the main weapons of a celebrity, so it is desirable to emphasize it with the help of clothes and accessories, which the actress does with great success by choosing high-waisted outfits.

Also a great move is the selection of outfits with a belt at the waist, and contrasting dresses and suits that have a clear border at the waist.

Dita Von Teese's style without exaggeration can be called ideal, carefully thought out. The length of her dresses is almost always just below the knee, or as they are also called, midi. This is very a good choice, because her figure and height only benefit from such a decision.

Apart from floral print, celebrity is close to leopard. At various times, she was seen in public in a leopard scarf and with a bag of the same color.

A scarf, like a star, can be ordered on the Internet site.

Earlier we mentioned that there are very few trousers in the celebrity wardrobe, but they are still there. These are oversized models, or overalls with a belt, the emphasis in these cases is located on the waist.

It is still very rare to see a star in flat shoes and short dresses. Often, the actress even prefers to wear wedges or stilettos to the store.

In cool weather, the burlesque dancer puts on a coat. Like all other clothes, all her coats emphasize Dita's thin waist. Properly selected coat length and model emphasize the refined figure of the girl.

You can buy a similar coat in the online store.

Since you give preference to retro style, then the accessories should fully comply with the bow. So, Dita von Teese appears in public in retroform glasses, gloves, hats and with small bags.

Sunglasses, like a star, can be bought in the online store.

Dita Von Teese: red carpet

The figure and porcelain skin of Dita cause the envy of many women. She is truly beautiful, and perfectly matched outfits only emphasize her beauty.

Baby Von Teese is crazy about bustier dresses. So, for one of the important events, Christian Dior created a dress especially for the star. She looked perfect in it.

Gaultier's pale blue dress perfectly emphasized all the seductive curves of her body.
