How to make a Christmas tree with your own hands?

Master class 1. Do-it-yourself small Christmas tree made of cones

The peculiarity of this Christmas tree lies in its economy and extravagance. We use natural materials that are available to everyone. And a small amount of tinsel and New Year's toys give the Christmas tree a festive elegance.

Pine cones should be harvested in summer. This came with my experience. Once, before the New Year, I decided to make such a Christmas tree and with difficulty gathered the required number of cones in the forest. Since then, when I went out for a run in the morning, I collected beautiful, even bumps in my pockets. When I got home, I put them in a box. Now, on the eve of the New Year, I have a sufficient amount of material. But if you wish, you can collect cones at any time of the year - they just, most likely, will not be so beautiful.

  • Pine cones
  • Whatman paper or A3 cardboard
  • plastic pot
  • scissors
  • Christmas tinsel blue and silver
  • glue gun
  • several sticks of glue for the gun
  • brown acrylic paint
  • paint brush
  • a piece of fabric to decorate the pot
  • blue and silver christmas balls
  • small silver beads on a string

Progress

We make a cone from whatman paper.

From above, we begin to paint over the cone.

We paint over the cone completely.

You need to wait a bit for the acrylic paint to dry. At this time, we weight the pot by filling it with plaster.

After the gypsum has completely hardened, we paste over the pot with a cloth.

Glue the cone to the pot.

We start gluing pine cones from the bottom of the cone. It is precisely the cones that are very convenient to glue with a glue gun.

The glue gun works from the outlet - a glue rod is inserted into it, and the gun melts this glue. The glue at the exit is very hot, we drip it a little on the bump and glue it to the cone. The glue dries instantly. You do not need to wait long, and the bumps do not slip anywhere in the process. This is what attracts me to the glue gun.

We glue the cones as tightly as possible to each other.

Here such a Christmas tree is already obtained. As for me, very "fluffy".

We decorate the Christmas tree from cones with New Year's tinsel.

Then glue Christmas decorations and decorate with beads on a thread.

Our desktop Christmas tree made of cones is ready!

Master class 2. DIY Christmas tree made of raffia

I'll tell you a little what is raffia and where to buy it. Because for many, and especially for those who are not engaged in needlework, such a question will definitely arise. Raffia is a palm plant. She has fairly large leaves, which are cut and divided into fibers. To keep the raffia flexible, it is wrapped around the herb while drying. When raffia dries, it has a nice cream color.

Raffia is used by florists to design bouquets and compositions. Raffia fibers are quite plastic and soft. Often it is used instead of ribbons. Raffia can be bought at any florist shop or ordered from an online florist shop. Since it is painted in various colors, choosing the right shade for you is not difficult.

So let's get started. For work we need:

  • raffia (I used bright green)
  • A4 paper or cardboard
  • scissors
  • stapler with staples
  • glue gun and glue stick (can be replaced with Moment Crystal glue, Titan silicone glue or ordinary Superglue)
  • long skewers
  • disposable cup 50g

  • wire
  • scraps of napkins or old newspapers (to fill the cone)
  • red table napkin
  • decorative santa claus
  • red christmas balls
  • red beads
  • red pine cone

The last six elements can be replaced at your discretion with similar ones.

Progress

Cut out a cone and a plug from the paper to the bottom of the cone. We fix the cone with a stapler.

We dilute the building gypsum with water to a state of thick sour cream and pour the mass into a glass, insert skewers into the gypsum. There is a more affordable option: an alternative to building gypsum is building putty. Putty is available in almost every home.

In the center of the plug from the cone, we make a hole with scissors and put it on skewers.

We bend one end of the wire and thread it through the top of the cone.

We glue the blank of the cone with wire to the skewers and fill it with table napkins.

We glue the cone with the plug.

Take one fiber of raffia. Glue the end to the wire and wrap the raffia around it.

When the raffia fiber is finished, fix the end with glue.

Then we take the next fiber of raffia, fix the end and wrap the cone tightly.

We also wrap the cap of the cone and skewers with raffia.

We paste over the pot with a table napkin.

We wrap the center of the pot with raffia.

We glue a decorative gift and a pine cone on the top of the pot.

We glue decorative Santa Claus on the raffia.

Now we decorate our Christmas tree with balls and beads.

Everything, the Christmas tree with your own hands is ready!

Master class 3. Table Christmas tree made of paper (from paper napkins)

Hooray, we know the cheapest and very original way DIY Christmas tree making! You don't have to work hard for this. It is enough to come to any supermarket and stop at the stand with napkins. You can choose what color your future Christmas tree will be. Maybe even the most unexpected! Why not? By the way, you can use both multi-colored napkins and plain ones - this is up to you.

So, we decided on the color, we buy napkins. Now the only thing left is to figure out how to decorate the Christmas tree. First, let's remember what items we can find at home: from boring jewelry with beads to bright buttons. By the way, plain buttons can be coated with any nail polish. Some of the decor can be picked up in the store. We go home, pour hot tea or a glass of champagne to feel the New Year mood, and get to work.

We prepare source materials. For work we need:

  • table napkins that you bought or just took out of the kitchen cabinet (I used soft pink and white napkins)
  • scissors
  • decorations that you found for decorating the Christmas tree (I had a small Christmas tree garland silver color)
  • cardboard or paper
  • skewers, or a simple pencil, or a branch from a tree
  • glue gun and glue stick (can be replaced with any glue available at home)
  • stapler with staples
  • disposable cup or similar
  • putty (if you didn’t have it at home, you can replace it with a mixture of any cereal with PVA glue)
  • simple pencil
  • template in the form of a small circle (about 3-3.5 cm in diameter)
  • satin ribbon (mine is pale pink)

We transfer the circle template to the napkin, redraw the circles as much as will fit on the napkin.

We fasten the center of the circles with a stapler.

Cut out circles from napkins with scissors.

Raise the first layer of the napkin up, pinching it with your fingers at the bracket.

We do the same separately with each layer of the napkin.

Gently straighten - it turns out a rose.

Repeat these steps for each of the circles. For a Christmas tree with an A4 paper size, you will need about 60 roses.

We fix the skewers in a cup with putty.

We create a cone from whatman paper or cardboard and cut out the bottom to it.

We install our "Christmas tree" on skewers.

We begin to decorate the Christmas tree with roses from napkins from top to bottom, planting them on glue.

Roses are glued tightly to each other.

Since I have a two-color Christmas tree, I leave the bottom row for roses of a different color.

Glue in one row.

We glue the skewers with a satin ribbon. We cover the glass with a white napkin.

We tie the pot with a ribbon. Glue roses.

We decorate the Christmas tree with beads.

That's all, our paper Christmas tree is ready!

This time I had a vanilla-marshmallow mood, and therefore the Christmas tree turned out to be just as tender.

Vases in the interior: there is never too much

The original Christmas tree-beauty will decorate the festive interior. Of course, a round dance around her is not to be led, but such a miracle will certainly raise the mood. Here is such an interesting desktop craft that can be made from the simplest things that are in every home.

  • plasticine;
  • Styrofoam;
  • stationery knife;
  • stroke corrector;

While they dry from the "yolks" make boots, as shown in the photo.

Fill them up to half with plasticine and wrap with a cloth.

Insert stick legs into boots, decorate the Christmas tree with various bows, ribbons. Paint the legs with stripes of red varnish. ready!

You can make a hat out of cardboard, cover it with a cloth and sew on a pompom.

DIY shabby chic Christmas tree

Let's make this amazingly beautiful and original craft V fashion style shabby chic.

Necessary materials.

For the base, we take a large paper cup or any plastic utensils. Separately, we dilute alabaster or gypsum with water to the density of liquid sour cream and pour it into the future pot. We fix the trunk of our tree, plant a branch in the center and fix it in this position until it hardens.

We make a cone out of cardboard using a stapler.

We make the top of the spruce from wire and foam rubber.

We connect the top with the trunk and attach the cone.

We wrap the base of the tree with white fur.

Cut off excess from below.

Then we fold the ends of the burlap inward and attach it with hot glue.

Let's get down to the fun part - decorating our Christmas tree in the shabby chic style.

To create a finished composition, we need a stand.

We make a bench from a bamboo napkin.

From white fur - a snowman.

We attach a bell to the top of the spruce.

We decorate Christmas tree beads, pearls, flowers, lace, etc..

We apply transparent glue to the very top of the tree.

And sprinkled with artificial snow.

We do the same with the bench.

Our composition "Winter's Tale" is ready!

Decorative Christmas tree made of napkins

We will make it from cardboard and single-layer napkins. You will also need beads for decoration.

First of all, we will build a frame for our Christmas tree. We fold the cone from cardboard, fasten it (I sewed it with threads) and cut exactly the bottom of the cone so that it can stand.

The base is ready, set aside for now. Now let's move on to napkins. From them we will make roses. Single-layer plain paper napkins are suitable for us.

We take a napkin and cut it along the folds. Then fold it in three and cut along the folds again.

The resulting strips are still tripled and cut again. We got a square equal to 1/9 of the napkin.

We fasten this square in the center with a stapler.

Then cut out a circle from it. Mega-accuracy and accuracy are not required here at all, the finished rosette can be slightly corrected with scissors.

Thus, a rose is formed. If the finished rose seems uneven to you, then you can trim it with scissors.

The number of such flowers depends on the size of your cardboard cone. My Christmas tree turned out to be 21 cm high and I needed 59 roses for it.

When all the flowers are ready, we return to the cone. Starting from the crown, glue the flowers onto the cone so that the base is not visible. I glued it with hot glue (it’s more convenient for me), but the most ordinary PVA will do.

I made a Christmas tree from napkins in two colors. If you also decide to create your own craft from multi-colored roses, then you can safely experiment with their alternation on the cone. If the result does not suit you, you can always tear off the flower and re-glue it to another place. In this case, only the lower layer of the flower will suffer. It (the bottom layer) is simply torn off. The rosette will not lose its appearance.

So, we glued the flowers to the cone. The Christmas tree itself is ready and you can stop at this stage.

I also decorated it with beads - I glued it on the same hot glue, here PVA will no longer help.

As you can see, even a beginner can make such beauty, so you can safely involve children in the process.
